Finding it hard to stay loyal
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the AC1750 to replace my third (now discontinued), Linksys N750 purchased in 2 years. The initial two N750s died from power outages compliments of our electricity provider. After being twice-bit, I purchased an APC UPS thinking my router replacements were complete. After 8 months of use, the third and final N750 went belly up. All three lost the Internet port connection, but still maintained my intranet. After extensively researching a replacement model, I settled on the AC1750. The AC1750 was easy to install and set up. Pleased with my purchase, I felt my replacement would meet our household needs. For this purchase, I opted to pay for the BestBuy replacement plan, which I normally decline. With just FOUR days of operation, the new AC1750 router died. Like all previous routers, I went through my troubleshooting routine, factory resets, and contacted my ISP to confirm that the modem was working, with hundreds of failed attempts to settle an IP for the router. Like all of the previous routers, I diagnosed it was a dead Internet port. To confirm my diagnosis, I spent 2+ hours with Linksys online support running through their troubleshooting protocols, to which, they also declared the router internet port was dead and assigned an RMA for return. Fortunately, I purchased the replacement plan from BestBuy, returned the 4-day old brick, and brought home the second AC1750, in just five days. After three weeks, the new AC1750 is working as designed. Hopefully, I will be able to get more than a year's operation from this router. It has become difficult to maintain my loyalty to Linksys. I now have many Linksys doorstops, with boxes. If history repeats itself, this will be my final purchase. I do have to give Kudos to the Linksys online support. They worked hard to find a solution. Furthermore, I was happy that I purchased the replacement plan this time. Based on my experiences with Linksys, I would recommend others to consider the same.

It is odd that the same thing happened with the four Linksys routers and we understand how you feel about it.
