This is a terrible router with the built-in firmware, but after installing third party firmware from DD-WRT, it is excellent. Great for home and small office.

Needed a new router and, from the reviews read, this one was for us! Unfortunately, this router can't stand up, but was able to make room for it to lay down AND LED lights are in the back of the unit. Previous router had a stand and LED lights in the front w/WiFi light. Would STILL take this new router over old one we had! We use this new router in an apartment and it works great with our desktop, laptop and WiFi for our iPhones.

I got this router due to my old one having its last day. When I hooked this one up my desk top computer worked fine and when I tried the WiFi on my phone and tablet it ran very slow. But when I turned the WiFi off they ran fine. I'm returning this thing back to the store.

      Hi Chris,

We hope you can give us the chance to make things better. A conflict with other devices or networks might be one of the reasons why you're experiencing slow wireless connection. Adjusting the wireless channel should improve it. Here's how: http://www.linksys.com/us/support-article?articleNum=136797 The recommended channels for the 2.4 GHz network are 1, 6, 9 and 11 since they are considered non-overlapping channels.

Never hesitate to update us via email at [email protected] with your contact details and the link to this review.

      Regards,

    Works well so far

I've only had this router set up for about 3 weeks, but so far it works fine. I have an older 1 1/2 story house with the router set up in the upstairs and my wireless Blu Ray player downstairs. I was afraid this router wouldn't be strong enough, but so far it does the job. I only get 3 of the 5 wireless strength bars lighting up on my wireless Blu Ray player, but that seems to be enough.

This router was easy to set up, even with my existing network. However, it didn't seem like the speed was any different from an older router that I had (that I replcaed this one with). I have had no big problems with it...

Linksys wouldn't publish the below review on their website. I bought a TP-Link AC1900 instead. Paid more, but at least I didn't waste it like I did buying Linksys. Plus, TP-Link has a better warranty and unlimited phone tech support. My review they wouldn't publish: I purchased the E1200 v.2 about a year or two ago. I recently upgraded my internet service and got a new modem that was downloading near 200Mbps directly to my computer. When I use this Linksys product (yes, with up-to-date firmware) I get around 20Mbs, sometimes less. I called customer service and they offered to help if I pay them. I found out the hard way you only get 90 days of tech support. Very disappointed.
