    Great Router

This is a great and resonably priced router that does the job for home or small business. 4 ports allow to add ethernet PC's or Printers, or add a switch to expand the hard line network. The wireless sets up easily to add game consoles, TV's, DVR's, and DVD Players, as well as computer equipment and Ipads and phones.

Bought to hook up my Roku in downstairs back bedroom wirelessly. You just set this puppy up, add security easily, and forget about it. Pick a password that is easy to spell when you have your grandkids over with their ipods and Kindles.

    Basic Router

Just switched from one internet provider to another and we needed a basic router instead of paying the company. It worked OK, but did not have enough range for our multi-story house.

I purchased this to replace an older model. The device works fine but the set up for switching over from the default IP address to another one was hard to find online.

Excellent for a basic wifi access point. If your looking for features like port forwarding, multiple subnets, and etc., look else where.

When it works it does ok but it doesn't seem to be much for quality. It constantly has to be reset....we are only home in the evenings and on weekends and have to reset it probably at least 3 times a day because it just randomly stops working. I also thought it was stupid that I had to download the software off the internet to set it up for a mac....Clearly I don't have internet if this box isn't working

      Hi Kykeh,

Thank you for sharing your feedback on the Linksys E1200. We advise that you update/reflash the router's firmware. If there's no Internet connection through the router, plug the computer straight to the modem and download the firmware software. Plug the computer back to the router and load the firmware manually. Here's an article to guide you:

I purchased 2 of these last July to use in my 2000 square foot home. 1 was acting as the router for our family room and office on our 1st floor and the other was set up in bridge mode to act as a wireless access point only to get better wireless coverage on the 2nd floor. Everything was great at first then in the past few months I would have to power cycle the bridged router. Now last night both routers have issues. I tried resetting both and going through the setup again. Both have the most recent firmware and both seem to lock up when saving the settings from the admin console. I have always regarded Linksys as the best of the best in networking. Now I have to say that these are the last Linksys products I will ever buy. I also had issues with their wireless extender. Would never stay connected so I ended up with 2 routers. I honestly can say the Westel DSL/Wireless router worked better than these did. I miss my WRT54G.

    Terrible Performance and Customer Support

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I purchased this router in March 2013 to replace a DLink router. For the first several months, the router worked fine. Then, once or twice a month began having difficulty wirelessly connecting to the router. Eventually, I found it necessary to hardware reboot the router several times a week. I contacted Linksys/Cisco technical support in February 2014. They forced me to purchase an optimization package from a third party (or wouldn't honor my warranty# and performed a factory reset of the router. The router performance improved for about one month. Then, the router began to experience the exact same problems. When I contacted technical support, they informed me that since the router was now just outside the one-year warranty period, there was absolutely nothing they could do. The technical support technician informed me that the conditions I am experiencing were indicative of a known hardware problem, but there was nothing they could #or would) do. Escalation up two levels of supervisor in both the technical service and customer service departments proved to be a complete waste of time. Product quality and customer service proved to be significantly less than expected from Cisco/Linksys. This customer won't make that mistake again.

    Very Weak WiFi Signal

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

DO NOT BUY THIS!!!! Good signal strength on the wired connection but very very weak signal on wifi. Even standing over it I was only able to get 2-3 megabits per second. I tried every trick i could find on google but nothing work. Finally giving up and buying something else. I would give it zero stars if I could.

    Not worth a Penny

I don't live in a big house by any means. My old router was 6 years old and was a Belkin which I was told was the worst of the worst which may or may not actually be true... I installed this with no problem at all. After I installed it and setup my connection, I went down one level in my house and notice the speed on my laptop was taking forever. Also, when I was connected to my wireless on my IPhone, it was taking forever to get onto ESPN.com. I started to do some research which I admit I should have done before hand but I thought anything would be better than my old router... It turns out that you have to switch to be a "G" router somehow to improve the speed, I read that and just stopped, I didn't even care how to fix the problem... So I paid for a "N" router which has limited range #worse than my 6 year old one# and which has to set to a "G" somehow to perform at acceptable levels... TERRIBLE

    ok for the price

I run 2 or 3 computers, printers, cell phones, softphones off this router and I think if all were in the same room it might be fine. Constantly getting dropped signals making it tough to work. Will have to upgrade but in reading the reviews of the much more expensive routers this might be a challenge

Linksys not what it used to be

The unit is easy to install, and get it running. The downside is after 5 days the unit would stop connection to the internet. I would restart only the router, and would run well. Had to take back and decided on another model. Wireless signal was average for the price. Sad thing is I have had good luck with Linksys in the past.
