I was told by my provider to get a different modem, but opted for the better, higher priced item. It doesn't have enough"line outs" for my needs.

I purchase a router, Only to find out that you also have to purchase a smartphone to set the router to work. Very poor purchase as I cannot receive cell service as there are not any towers near my location so a cell phone purchase is not in my favor.

Mostly OK, but I will never again buy Linksys

I bought this mesh router because of Linksys's reputation, and I have had it for over a year. I spent a LOT of money on it. I was happy in general. Setup was easy, if slow. and coverage was mostly good. But there are some problems. Several times - 3 or 4 - I have lost a connection to a remote node and had to reinstall it. The system recently got so screwed up that I had to go back to factory settings to completely reinstall it. Here's what led me to write this review. Although I had 200 Mbps service I never got more than 120 Mbps throughput vis an ethernet connection. I just chose to live with the problem My ISP recently upgraded me to 400 Mbps, and I don't get more than 150 Mbps throughput. (The router's built-in speed test shows 400+ Mbps to the ISP.) I figured it was time to contact Linksys for help. This was a complete and utter waste of time. Their chat function (which they recommend) is not functional. Over several days I got the same message to try again in the future. When I tried calling the message said they had "an unusually high call volume" and there might be a long wait. The support website says that there is a callback option, but I was not offered it. After 1/2 hour I gave up. I don't care how good a product they make. If they can't offer me ANY support this is a brand that I will never buy again.

    Amazing speed and Coverage

This system is incredible. Having a whole home wifi system, even in a small setting is extremely viable. The speed this product can output is incredible. My download speeds are upwards of 100mbps with zero ping issue. I'm a gamer and an avid streamer so quality is extremely important to me. I'm able to play games and stream 4K content with ease. The setup was extremely easy; only took around 5 minutes to set up and the Linksys app lets you control everything on the router.

    Single node works great!

I purchased a single node for my 1500 square foot home. It was easy to set up. Named my network and pass as previous router. I pay for 100mps and with my old Apple airport express I was only getting 40 near the router. With the velop I’m getting 115mps near the router, 80 in my room, and 45 far room of home. I purchased this on sale and may get another to put on other side of home. All of my smart devices connected automatically to new router with no problems: sonos one, nest hello, nest protect, google homes, Apple TV, philips hue, etc.

Linksys - Velop AC2200 Tri-Band Whole Home Wi-Fi System - White After a year of wrestling with this surprisingly disappointing wireless "mesh" mess from Linksys, I cannot recommend it to anyone. Specs-wise, it looks great... on paper. In the real-world, the three-node Velop supports less than HALF the spatial distance between each node than its competition from N*g**r, the latter presently using only TWO nodes to cover my entire home. (Via a series of firmware updates, that rival mesh WiFi solution fully matches what the Velop originally promised, on paper.) Even a single Linksys EA9500 Max-Stream AC5400 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router, with a single Linksys MAX-STREAM™ AC1900 Wireless-ac Dual Band Repeater with MU-MIMO external repeater, vastly outperforms the three-node Velop, out-of-the box AND across the boards. The latter is a viable AND robust mesh WiFi from Linksys, not the Velop. The defacto app-only management of the Velop completely sucks. Even though there is a browser-based, internal configuration server, no matter how hard you work at it, browser-based management cannot correctly establish more than a two-node Velop WiFi mesh, relegating the third node to a backup unit. Only *unsecure* (unhardened Android, demanding Bluetooth, GPS location and WiFi), app-based Velop management can setup a three-node Velop WiFi mesh, with all of its weak spatial limitations. Once setup, a three-node Velop mesh will spuriously and mysteriously drop a node, without any warning. Unreliable Crap. And web-based router management is an open invitation to remote hacking. Robust "home‘ WiFi networks should not require constant fiddling with, let alone privacy-impaired web management. Both of my other two wide-area WiFi networks worked, as advertised, out-of-the-box, and required no ongoing active management, not even for firmware updates. I fully configured each of these using their locally connected browser interface. Neither web, nor app management was REQUIRED. (I run these concurrently as fully subnetted mesh WiFi/Ethernet networks, connected to Gigabit fiber/Internet.) Finally, each Velop node, limited to two 1Gb Ethernet ports, render them near useless for useful RJ-45 hardwired networking. No wonder that I never see Velops in retail. Hopefully, the word finally got out to consumers. Major fail, Linksys. MAJOR FAIL.

      Hi, WhiskeyTango,

Each Velop Node is capable of providing up to 2,000 square feet of coverage which delivers an exceptionally fast Wi-Fi experience even when multiple devices are connected. We truly appreciate your taking the time to share your product review so we can make things right. Please drop us an email at [email protected] with your contact details and the link to this post. I had two nodes of AC2200. Setup was very easy. I was not getting enough bandwidth on my TV with wireless connection so I used ethernet cable connection from one of the nodes and my issue resolved. A little expensive but very flexible solution for the wifi need of the homeowners. Recently I added two more nodes (AC4400). I added AC4400 as extra node to my wifi using phone app in less than ten minutes without any issues. Later I decided to change my primary node to AC4400 from AC2200 to get better bandwidth, I ended up called support tech and they helped me configure it by resetting two nodes.

This is a great mesh network. I purchased the 3 pack seeing that I had a lack of coverage in a section of my home. Since then I have not lost connection or seen any lag in my home. I also enjoy the fact that you can set device priority and child monitoring solution.

This router is only suitable if you don't need any kind of administrative control over it. Otherwise, you will struggle to even get access to its web page. Its worse because the ONLY way to get started is trough an Android / Mac app. Once you have done the first steps, if you want more of your router, you need to fool the device to access the web page. But, the good thing is that after all suffering to configure, you can even forget about the device. Never freezes, has great coverage and the design gives a nice look to your desk.
