The Velop Pro is a nice iteration of Linksys’ Velop line, offering improved meshing with their “cognitive mesh” technology that automatically determines channel and frequency to broadcast as well as mesh the nodes. The Tri-band nodes offer 2.4GHz, 5GHz, & 6GHz bands thanks to the new WiFi 6E radio. The 6GHz band not only future proofs your WiFi but also offers improved speed (if your devices support it) as well as reduced interference. Naturally this new band has reduced range but with this 3-pack you can envelope you home in not only this newer, faster frequency but each node also provides 2.4GHz and 5GHz for strong wireless coverage for all devices. The new droplet design does blend in well, though 7.5” tall pillars aren’t exactly invisible either.
Though instructions in box were sparse, installation was a breeze using the Linksys app on my phone. As with a previous Velop setup I have used, configuring Velop Pro 6E using the app is also simple. You can quickly turn on Guest access, prioritize devices, and adjust parental controls. I would have like to see more advanced security features such as a basic IDS/IPS but the nodes do support WPA3, providing more robust wireless security to thwart nearby eavesdroppers. You can also switch networking modes such as disabling NAT and enabling bridge mode to interface with an existing network. Naturally you lose device prioritization and parental controls when in bridge mode but it would be nice if Linksys could retain content filtering of devices that are connected wirelessly to the nodes.
After installing the Velop Pro, I regained signal in most of my home including a bedroom which notoriously had low signal strength. Previously devices in the room would struggle to hit 100Mbps on gigabit fiber internet but now they can hit 300Mbps+ running through a meshed child node. Where as I wish Linksys would offer more advanced security features, most do not want to manage an IDS or overly complex content filtering. Overall I found the Velop Pro 6E to be a nice iteration of their Velop product line. The Velop Pro 6E is a breeze to setup, improving on their mesh system with faster modern WiFi standards while retaining broad compatibility and great coverage.

Really solid system that works even better than I hoped, and it's a solid upgrade over our Xfinity router in terms of range and speed. Setup was quick and easy and anyone with a basic understanding of home networking will enjoy the customization options for the new mesh system. App and browser interfaces are a little clunky but really can't complain at all about getting a true mesh system with 6E capabilities with three nodes for well under $300 (sale price).

PROS
+ Fast wi-fi and great speeds
+ Nodes are aesthetically pleasing and fit nicely in with home decor
+ Future Proofed with WiFi 6E support
+ Cognitive Mesh seems to work well overall
+ Fantastic data privacy policy
CONS
- Set-up with the app can be a bit finicky, took a bit of trial and error
- Connectivity currently does seem prone to noticeable speed changes in certain areas, such as stepping outside the home, but mileage may vary depending on your layout
- App can be a bit slow to start-up and use at points
THE LONG AND SHORT OF IT
For me, if I am using a router I am generally a very simple person. I need it to be fast, easy to set-up and maintain, I need it to be consistent, with good coverage, and I need it to not be something I do not have to worry about. So far, the Linksys Velop Pro 6E has provided on all of these fronts, with only the set-up and coverage pieces providing some niggles, but not deal-breakers by any means.
To start, I am a big fan of routers that style themselves to fit in with home decor. Back in the day, you always had to stash your router away in a basement or closet because it never really fit anywhere, with antennas and lights abounding. With the movement of these Mesh Routers, style has become more important, as they are meant to be out in the open to perform their best, and in the case of the Velop Pro, they look great in my opinion. They are minimalist, with rounded edges that make them easier to look at than big square routers of yesteryear. We have furniture that skews towards mid-century modern, and they look much better in the living room than my previous system.
But while aesthetics are great, they are not nearly the most important factor. That goes to usability and performance, and this is where the Velop Pro is once again great. Once I had them up and running and connected, I have had a consistent, fast connection to all of my devices with no dropouts or noticeable losses in performance, at least around my house. With my previous system, one of the biggest frustrations was consistent WiFi dropouts and slowdowns that needed to be fixed with a system reboot. Thankfully, as of yet I have had none of those. I believe your routers should work in the background, doing their job so well you never have to think about them, and in this case that is exactly what the Velop Pro Mesh does. I don’t have too many WiFi 6E devices, but the 6E standard is great to have, and for those that do, the speeds are amazing. Even older devices still get great speeds, and benefit from the coverage this mesh system supplies.
For the Cognitive Mesh system, which promotes better coverage and optimized connectivity, all I can say is that again, the routers work great. I can’t tell you exactly how much Cognitive Mesh is responsible for that, but from the performance I see, I am not concerned. Really the only area of performance I haven’t been too pleased with so far is when I step outside my home. Like most routers, you can still connect to your WiFi if you are close enough to your home, but in this case, I do notice pretty dramatic speed losses depending on where I am. Granted, your mileage may vary heavily depending on node placement and house materials, but for me, I find I will go from 300-400 MB/s when outside my front door, to near 20-30 MB/S when I walk about 15-20 feet along the house to outside my garage. I tend to get around 600 MB/s when I am inside on average. I don’t want to list this as a huge con, as again, it will really depend on where you are and your layout, but at least for me, I was a bit surprised speeds could change that much when moving just outside my house.
The other con, which is similarly minor, but may affect you differently, is the app and set-up. It took me about 1-2 hours in total to set everything up, but a good part of this time was spent reconnecting the app and rediscovering the WiFi, rather than actually going through the set-up steps. For the actual set-up, the app works great and walks you through all steps easily. The connection time for the nodes to all connect and for firmware updates was pretty long (10-15 min each) but once done, you really don’t need to worry about it again. However, I did run into issues where the app didn’t always recognize my system, and so I needed to restart it to get it to sync. Likewise, when I added the system to my account, I couldn’t get the app to load correctly anymore, and so I needed to remove it and reload it to get it to work again. Now that I have everything dialed in, it has been great, but I do think the software experience is where the biggest opportunity exists right now. If Linksys can button that up, then the process would be much smoother. Thankfully, despite the app being a bit slow to load and navigate, the actual functionality is pretty great, and you can generally control all settings from within the app easily.
One final callout I want to make, but I think is really important, is data privacy. Linksys proudly highlights that they do not collect or sell any of your data when using the system, and in the age of mass data collection and data marketplaces, I do think that is a big pro worth highlighting. You want your internet traffic to be secure and private, and it is great to see a company holding that out as a badge of honor by ensuring they do not collect or store any of your data, nor do they sell it for marketing purposes.

Challenge to setup, but provides stable network

Prior to setting up the Linksys Velop Pro 6E mesh network, I was running a whole house network on a 2018 leading manufacturer mesh router system. This review is based on a week of use running the Velop in place of my older mesh system servicing a ~3500 sq ft three story house with 20+ IoT devices, two streaming HD security cameras, and four high demand users (work from home x 2, online gaming, and 2 x teenagers non-stop video chatting and streaming).
In the box are three interchangeable Velop Pro 6E Mesh Nodes, 3 power adapters, ethernet cable and a quick start guide. To get started install the Linksys app and follow the guided setup. I found my first issue with the guided setup, as it took multiple attempts to connect to the child nodes. In doing some research, this may be related to AT&T specific routers, but I did not spend time to confirm due to eventually getting things to work. Overall time spent was approximately an hour, resetting the child nodes, checking for updates, and repeating until both nodes were connected. Node placement optimization is another detractor in my opinion. Once the nodes are synced, you then need to move them to the preferred location, plug in, wait ~3 minutes for full boot, then read the signal strength from the app. When I used the same placement as my older mesh system (28' from router), the signal strength for both the child nodes was poor (>-61 dBm). I have moved the first node to 21' direct line of sight from my router and the signal strength is now excellent (<-50 dBm). The second node is upstairs, approximately 14' direct distance away from node one, with a stairwell wall (no door) between the nodes. The signal on this node is fair at -65 dBm (see photo).
Once establishing locations, the rest of the optimization and performance can be managed via the app. In the app you can view the devices connected, turn on guest access, set up parental controls, manage settings, speed check, prioritize devices (up to three), add more nodes, and manage the network. These are all fairly typical options for mesh routers, nothing that really stood out to me as above and beyond the expected options. One nice feature is through the network administration tab you can manage password, firmware updates, and set the node status light to night time mode. This is important if you have a router placed in the bedroom, it will turn off the light for a set period, unfortunately there is no option to change the night mode period, it is only available from 10 PM - 6 AM.
Performance features of the Velop Pro 6E are the seamless dual-band options (typically required for IoT devices). This means when you set up a 2.4 GHz device you do not have to manually set up a 2.4 GHz connection, instead it pairs seamlessly. This was primarily a challenge with older mesh networks. Other network perks are Wi-fi 6 "E'' (extended) capable, 2 GB ethernet ports, one of which is available for LAN, and the seamless Lynksys trademarked Cognitive Mesh technology that continually optimizes network performance.
Post setup woes, the experience gets much better. I find that the network is consistently stable, I connected everything in the house, coming in at 38 connections, with 50% being active at any one time. The network performed at the same speeds coming into the router with no significant latency observed. Over the week I did not experience connectivity dropouts, signal degradation, or idle devices needing to be reconnected, as some mesh networks do. I find that the value of this mesh system is largely dependent on your floor plan, number of devices, internet speeds from the router, amount of 6 GHz devices you have, and coverage needs. I think it's a good system overall, and will keep it in lieu of my older mesh network. My hopes are that Lynksys works through the setup bugs and eventually optimizes the app to improve placement calibration.

As a long time Linksys fan and product owner, this was truly the first product disappointment that was problematic enough to push me towards selecting a competitor's product.
Pros: excellent range; expandable nodes; relatively low power consumption; silent running noise; very respectable data rates
Cons: Linkays app for 'easy' management suffers from a variety of technical quirks at unpredictable times -- including the initial setup process or adding new nodes; frustratingly long reboot times required with most setting changes; software management piece isn't always as smooth or offer quite as many options as some competitors; older devices such as printers and gaming consoles can struggle to reliably connect with this system; lacks multiple hard-line ports for faster device connections

Mesh routers have been gaining more popularity thanks to the amount of coverage that it has been able to achieve, and the Linksys Velop Pro 6E continues that tradition.
Mesh routers utilize a node system which uses a parent and child node mesh to cover a large space.
Out of the box you get 3 nodes, three power plugs, and a card with a QR code that helps you download the Linksys app. You can use and of the three for the initial set up, and the other 2 as the child nodes.
I’ve set up another one of the Linksys velop mesh systems before, so I was expecting another smooth install… this time unfortunately, it wasn’t so smooth. I will go into more detail later.
The one thing that is noticeable is that these nodes are getting larger per iteration.
Compared to the ones I had previously, I would say that these are about 20% larger (Eyeballing, no measurements taken).
Linksys claims to have about 9000 sq ft of coverage, so if your home is about 3000 sq ft, then every inch of your house should be covered… well, not exactly.
So as I mentioned before, installing this should take someone about 15-25 minutes depending on your internet speed. So you download the app, create and account. You plug in the first node, and follow the prompts. You’re tasked with creating a network name, and following the prompts where it asks you to plug in the remaining two nodes and wait until the lights stop blinking to proceed.
So here’s where the hiccup occurred. I plugged in the two nodes and while the adding the 2, the app crashed… so I restarted the app, and it asked me if I wanted to continue where it last left, so I said yes. What I didn’t realize is that the 2 nodes were already established prior to the crash, so it was trying to continue adding the nodes where they were already established. Confusing I know. So that’s why the lights kept blinking, and blinking. The lights reached the white light stage, indicating that they were trying to communicate with the first node, but the first node was already at the stage where it was trying to establish communication instead of adding the other two nodes.
After some frustrating moments, I decided to press the reset buttons on the two nodes, and start from scratch. The trick is that you have to hold the reset buttons on both until the light goes off. I didn’t no that, so I let go when the lights turned red… another unknowing mistake on my part.
So once the nodes were reset, I continued to install when the lights were both a solid blue. This fixed the issue, and both were set, and now I was prompted to unplug the second and third node and place them where I wanted to. To really push the boundaries of the nodes, I placed one in the basement and one on the second floor. I’m glad to say that the nodes created a nice mesh area, and that I was averaging about 220 mbs of speed in the basement and second floor out of a 700 mb service… which is reasonable I guess.
All in all, the nodes have a nice build quality to them, you can pretty decent coverage depending on where you place the two other nodes, but the setup was a pain this time around. They need to specify which color light you should see as a solid light to help people determine when you proceed with the child nodes. If you have the previous Linksys Velop mesh routers, the power plugs are the same. You can keep the ones that come with the new ones as back ups.

Great signal strength but frustrating to set up

I've been using mesh wireless systems for a few years. Started with the Google mesh P-router, then TP-Link, then Netgear (which failed after warranty), and finally Comcast's built-in Wi-Fi 6 router (not mesh). My home is ranch style with 2 floors, 5,000 sqft. Finding a Wi-Fi system with adequate coverage has been a challenge because the Comcast coax is routed to a small closet in the basement. It's at the very corner and the material behind it is concrete since it's a partial basement. This makes it very frustrating since the signal is nowhere near as strong as it needs to be, making a mesh solution logical.
My best experience thus far was with the Netgear Orbi, but as mentioned earlier, it stopped working entirely after the warranty period expired. I then made the move to Wi-Fi 6 and tried using Comcast's own combo router/modem but the signal wouldn't reach the other side of my home.
This Linksys mesh system is very powerful and after getting it and the 2 nodes hooked up, I've been able to cover my home quite well. The main frustration I had, however, was the set-up process. For whatever reason, the app method (on Android) was very slow and cumbersome during setup. The app seemed to hang after each step, displaying a spinning ring or telling me the network was off-line (it was not). The setup was more difficult than I have experienced with other brands due to the slow responsiveness when making changes to the configuration and the spinning circle mentioned earlier. The web interface is nice to have, but feels very antiquated in design. Once all was set up and running, I'm happy with the results. The 3-year warranty is rare and very welcome on this unit. Linksys is obviously confident about this unit and I feel comfortable I would have support if it failed at 20 months (which the Orbi did).
As for the cognitive mesh feature, I assume it's working since there is no way to specifically configure it; it just works as it should, providing a strong signal throughout my home. In addition to solid performance, the nodes look sleek and fit for a home versus the space-age techy look most routers have with 8 antennas, etc. I'm sure they work great, but they look so out of place in any home.
Overall, this Linksys mesh system was an upgrade in every way, and I'm pleased with the coverage. It's truly a "set it and forget it" system, which is exactly what I wanted. Perhaps that's the "cognitive" feature as the router adjusts settings itself without necessary baby-sitting. If you are interested in trying a mesh system, and want to buy the best, I can easily recommend this for anyone. My only complaint was the slow/difficult setup but was happy once it was up and running.

I couldn't give the company a 10 because the QR code provided in the box did not work. Kept telling us that there was a page error. There were no written instructions and when I downloaded the Linksys app, I got an error message that the link may be a false link and that my information can be stolen. That being said, I was about to return the product to Best Buy until I FINALLY found the chat. The service person was absolultely wonderful and walked me through the EASY set up of hooking up 2 children to the one parent. I have not heard of any complaints of slow internet from the family so far.

I bought this to upgrade my old wifi5 Linksys mesh network after getting gigabit service. This new system seems to be working well. The range is not quite what I expected. The signal is greatly affected by walls and structures in my house. I'm unable to connect to wifi6 signals with two walls in between. But when I'm within range the signal is strong and my speeds are fast. Setup is really simple. Just download the Linksys app and follow the setup instructions. It does take some time so be patient. Also I thought these would be compatible with my old system (model WHW03) but was told by Linksys tech support they are not. For some strange reason my old child nodes were automatically detected and added to the mesh network by the app but I'm unable to add any additional WHW03 nodes. So far I'm happy with this upgrade.

The initial setup is a little quirky. Maybe it was complicated because I had an older Velop network already set up. Linksys tech support was available and we worked through it quickly. Turned out the main issue was the version of the app on my phone. It was outdated and didn't indicate an update was available. After deleting the app and installing the newest version, the setup went quickly. Once set up, the nodes have worked great. Absolutely no issues since then and the connections have been stable.

WiFi 6E and mesh are a great combo

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
First, here are some of the main questions I had about this new version of the Velop router that I thought you might have, too.
What is new? Is it the “Cognitive Mesh” feature?
Yes, the biggest update for this Velop Pro 6E router compared to previous Velop models is the “Linksys Cognitive Mesh” (older Velops used what is called “Linksys *Intelligent* Mesh”). Linksys states that “Cognitive Mesh is an evolution of the Intelligent Mesh. It combines the benefits of mesh networking with cognitive computing capabilities, enabling intelligent and adaptive data routing, optimized resource allocation, and enhanced network reliability.”
Does the Velop Pro 6E work with other Velop products?
No, *Cognitive* Mesh products are not compatible with the older *Intelligent* Mesh products. Therefore, a Velop Pro 6E unit cannot be used as a child node of an older Velop mesh network, nor can an older Velop node be used as child nodes with the Pro 6E’s network.
How many nodes do I need?
Each node of the Velop Pro 6E system can cover between 1,500 and 3,000 square feet. I typically recommend getting at least two nodes if you have a lot of WiFi devices (even if they don’t need the additional coverage) as helping spread the “load” of all your WiFi devices between several nodes seems to help overall system performance.
Is WiFi 6E the same as WiFi 6?
No. Confusingly, WiFi 6 does not support the 6GHz band (it only supports the same 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands we’ve had for many years now). However, WiFi 6E, which the Velop Pro 6E supports, includes the new 6GHz band which should help to further cut down on interference (well, at least until everything starts using the 6GHz band).
## Design
The Linksys Velop Pro 6E routers have a new and slightly larger design compared to previous models, but they should still blend into your interior without looking overly “techie.”
Each node has an Ethernet “internet” port on the back (for connecting to your ISP’s modem), as well as one Ethernet port to hardwire a device such as a desktop computer. However, only the first node needs to be wired to the internet; the rest are wireless. The bottom of each unit has an on/off power switch as well as a reset button.
## Setup
The setup process requires the use of the Linksys app on either an iPhone or Android device. The app connects to each node via Bluetooth, making it easy to name the network and set a password. Once the network is set up, there is a web UI available for those like me who like to go “old school” and tweak the router settings from a computer.
## Performance
Prior to the Velop Pro 6E, I used the original Velop mesh network that has been mostly reliable over the past few years and I have been happy with its performance, especially during Covid when it supported multiple people working from home and making video calls. It occasionally needed to be rebooted (maybe about once every month or two), but otherwise didn’t require a lot of attention.
The new Velop Pro 6E appears to be reliable in the few days I’ve tested it. At the time of this review (July 2023), there aren’t a lot of devices supporting WiFi 6E’s new 6GHz wavelength, but it is backwards compatible with existing 2.4GHz and 5GHz devices which have performed fine with this router and allow me to get the full speed from my Internet Service Provider. The 6GHz band currently doesn’t travel as far as the 2.4GHz or even the 5GHz band, so if you’re using a WiFi 6E device, you need to be somewhat close to one of the Velop Pro 6E’s nodes (clear line of sight is best) to get the fastest speed. I found that when I took my WiFi 6E-supported laptop a few rooms away from the nearest 6E node, the speeds were cut to about 1/3 of the maximum speed.
So do you need to upgrade if you’re happy with your current router? Probably not, as there are not a whole lot of WiFi 6E devices in the wild right now. However, if you’re in the market for a new router, you may as well go with one that supports WiFi 6E like this Velop Pro 6E to help future-proof it for new devices coming over the next couple years. And since the 6GHz band doesn’t currently travel as far as the older 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, you’ll definitely want to look at a mesh system like this one to help ensure that your whole house has 6GHz coverage.

Great product. Easy to set up although there can be some weirdness if setting up multiple nodes where they don't all come online on the first try. Just unplug and plug in again and usually, it resolves itself. Try this before you worry there is some kind of issue. Solid hardware and IMO much better than the Nest wifi pro's which I am coming off of.
The app is a little sluggish each time you open it for the first time (android so can't speak for ios), but that is my only gripe. I'd buy these again.

Stylish Mesh System with Plenty of Power!

Linksys has been a staple in the internet and wifi world for awhile now but of course they need to continue to adapt to the changing landscape. Their new Velop Pro 6E Tri-Band Mesh Router system is a fantastic step in that direction and continues to put them at the top of the home WiFi game!
PROS:
- Unboxing these I was really impressed with the fresh new design! It has a nice modern look, simple style, and just looks really nice sitting out in the open as they should. Seriously it's a small thing but I was really impressed with how nice they look, especially since Mesh systems are meant to be out in the open and not just tucked away.
- Setup via the Linksys App is a breeze. They take you through each step and make everything really smooth and easy.
- Adding to that, the App itself is a great part of the system. It's an easy way to see how the connections are working, you can see what devices are connected, and even set parental controls or make certain devices the top priority.
- One of the big feature this mesh system boasts is its "WiFi 6E" technology, which is currently the latest and greatest WiFi standard that is accepted and used among the newest devices (like the M2 iPad Pro). With my use of it so far, it does a great job really pushing out reliable fast internet to all of my connected devices. I have noticed via my speed tests that this mesh system can utilize my 1gb fiber much better than my last mesh system!
CONS:
- Biggest downside for me is the lack of ports. There is 1 ethernet in and 1 ethernet out port, that's it. So if you want to hardwire multiple devices to your mesh system then you will have to buy a third party network switch port.
BOTTOM LINE:
- Home WiFi is an absolute essential for so many of us as we work from home, watch all of our news/tv/movies over Wifi, and need it for school and education. The Linksys Velop Pro 6E is simply one of the best options you can get for all or your needs. It has a very easy to use app that puts a lot of control in your hand, provides the greatest WiFi standard you can get right now, and it looks really great while performing at a high level. This is a no brainer buy if you are looking for a mesh system!

I have been very impressed so far with this Velop 6E system from Linksys. My previous WiFi system was also a Linksys system and I loved it. Choosing them again made sense and I haven’t been disappointed.
First, setup of this system is extremely easy. I already had the Linksys app, which I highly suggest as it is a great tool even after you set up your system. The app gives clear instructions the whole way through and takes all of the guesswork out of it. The system itself is about as “plug and play” as it gets. While I have lots of experience installing these, I think even the least tech savvy person won’t have any issues getting this system up and running.
The ability to place two additional nodes through my house has eliminated the dead spots in my house that even my previous velop system couldn’t address. For instance, I work in my garage quite a bit and being able to listen to Spotify or watch a YouTube video for instructions is really nice, my previous system couldn’t cover both my house and my garage. Now, with this system, I can cover everything.
The only drawback to this system that I didn’t anticipate well is the fact that the main node of the system only has one RJ-45 Jack for a direct connection. I used to have the ability to directly connect my smart TV and PlayStation and have two additional ports available. Whereas with this system I have to choose one of those and there isn’t any ability to add anything else.
Overall, the system is extremely easy to set up. It looks modern and isn’t too large and the nodes fit in without sticking out like a sore thumb. The Linksys app is extremely useful for implementing things like parental controls or prioritizing connections, etc.

I have made a comparison to just a standard wifi6 system and I can say with certainty that this new Wifi6E is a great and worth the extra couple bucks. If you need as much speed as possible at a good distance over WIFI this is the system for you. Even one node can easily go through multiple walls.

Use the non-app approach for mesh setup!

Linksys, PLEASE make it more obvious that you can setup the mesh system without having to use the app. And especially don't force signing up to the cloud service via your app!
I found via YouTube videos, your own videos actually, that you can much more easily get the primary and child mesh nodes setup by just using the physical buttons on them. Their video can be found by searching YouTube for "How to setup LinkSys Velop Mesh Wifi via 5-press setup method".
[Gist of 5 button press method]:
Gist of that is, take all your routers out, plug them all into power, they all have blue lights pulsing/flashing. Select the one that'll be the primary node, plug it into your modem providing internet feed. Now, turn it over and press the 'reset' button 5 times quickly within 5 seconds. This will set that node as the primary, and it should connect to internet (I believe turning light to white). Immediately the other child nodes will start flashing their lights to pair with primary node, and eventually their lights will go solid white. Be patient thought, takes about 30 to 60 seconds for primary to setup, and each child to then pair.
[Gist of the 'pair' physical button, after firmware update]:
If that doesn't work, the other none-app way to do it is via the 'pair' button on the underside of your router; but you have to update firmware first for that to work.
Search YouTube for "Quick Setup: Linksys Velop Mesh Wi-Fi with Pair button".
To get firmware up to date, you get one primary node setup first - and as before, I like to do it without the app - just via the good ol' router admin webpage. To do that, just connect one node to internet (that'll be your primary), connect youcomputer via ethernet cable to that primary node, then in browser go to myrouter.info (use https), or the usual 192.168.1.1 via https (past the warning browser message about cert name not matching if you use IP address).
-->THIS makes me mad here - it looks like you HAVE to use an APP at this point in setup when myrouter.info shows in browser; you do NOT. Click the image and it should get you past that where you can log into your router. I didn't know about the secret 'click the image of phone' bypass, and instead would have to cancel out of setup everytime to get to router login page! Your default router password is 'admin'. Once in, you might see some extra setup steps on the router admin page. Make sure you change that default password of 'admin' to something else; if you use the practically broken android/iOS app, that resets it for you as part of setup.
FINAL MESSAGE FOR LINKSYS - please, you are one of the OG network hardware providers. Us IT and Network/Hardware guys expect more of you and Netgear! As in, don't force some 'dumb' app on us, still let us very clearly (not hidden!) do it the way we've done it for 20 years, with just connecting the hardware, hard line, open browser, connect to admin console. Your Physical button setup, with the new pair button stuff is great - I just found the 5 button method in 5 seconds didn't always work, and the pair button just required the firmware update, but then worked perfectly. I suggest pushing the 'pair' physical button as a primary setup method for furture mesh routers. Or at least CLEARLY show it as an option, maybe on a small slip of paper you include in the box. It's shady forcing people, making them think they HAVE, to create an account with your cloud provider!

Updated previous Velop system to this one as I got an email that previous one would no longer be supported and was EOL (3 years seems a bit short lifespan for the cost). Install was not very easy moving from older velop to newer velop. It seemed to "confuse" the setup process when integrating an existing linksys account to new system. After multiple resets and tinkering with settings, it finally worked. I'm pretty well versed in coding and tech knowledge and think there could be some updating that might be needed on their end for replacing an existing velop system with new system. Setup with the previous system was a breeze. Overall its a good system once up and running. The 6ghz band is nice but not much stuff uses that band yet but I can tell slightly faster refresh speeds when on 6ghz band. Good strength and signal at long distances.
