I've spent my entire gaming life dealing with lag. It's infuriating. I recently upgraded my tower which included Killer ether net. Finding this router has completely changed my experience. The game play is amazing. The menu for this router is easy to navigate, and Linksys customer support is fantastic. I recommend this product to anyone that needs that better connection.

For basic users who want a plug and play experience with their router this works fine, but pretty expensive. for power users who like to tweak their router with advanced settings this router comes with a very restrictive although very sexy ui. you will have to install dd-wrt or something to get access to advanced configuration through the web ui. Returned since my existing router offered the same speeds but with a more advanced configuration ui standard.

    Unusably Slow Router

This is one of the new crop of gaming routers with a "Killer Prioritization Engine" that allows you to establish priorities for all of your connected computers so that gaming session connections aren't deteriorated by other people streaming and downloading and whatnot. The router is attractive (and beautifully packaged!) - and setup is very intuitive. I guess that much counts for the single star in the rating. I never even got around to game testing or Netflix because my connection through the Linksys WRT32X couldn't even make web browsing bearable. The setup screen for the router has a beautiful speed test function which showed breathtaking speeds. Every test showed download speeds nearing 200 Mbps with strong upload speeds - but, of course, there is no way to use their setup screen to test other routers. So I did tests with WiFi Scanner (Mac) and with SpeedTest (.net) to compare the Linksys to my current setup (a Netgear Orbi) - and tests from both applications were nearly identical (check out the photos for screen shots from SpeedTest). I have a reliably fast internet connection here - and the Linksys couldn't even manage to give me 10 Mbps download speeds (SpeedTest gave me an error every time on upload speeds because they were basically undetectable - WiFi Scanner calculated the upload speed to be below .5 Mbps every time - that's POINT 5). I spent a couple hours working through different configurations on the Linksys and restarting it and I still never established a usable connection. It is incomprehensible how a modern router like the WRT32X can be so unbearably slow.

      Hi, VADarkstar,

This is a very unusual behavior for the Linksys Gaming router. The device should be able to provide you equal the speed that you are expecting from your internet provider. We can have our Escalation Engineers look into this further.

Just send us your contact details at [email protected] so that we can escalate your case immediately. Don't forget to include the link to this post for our reference.

We hope to hear from you soon.

Easy to set up. We set up with the lap top without connecting to the Ethernet line. Step by step we were done in 15 minutes.

This router is fast, with great coverage. The Killer networking optimization is great, especially with my Gigabyte motherboard. The only downside is the lack of advanced options (hidden SSID, etc.) but you can always customize the firmware with DD-WRT or Tomato.

First off, I bought this router at a fairly large discount so it only enhances my opinion of the product. First, this router was a breeze to set up. Really easy and intuitive out the box. Second, it is very powerful consistently getting me triple digit MBPS speeds. Gaming has never felt more smooth over wifi and streaming speed for movies and shows is fantastic! Longevity is all I cannot attest to due to having the product for less than 2 months. Overall great router for those who are internet junkies such as myself.

I was excited to buy this router. I got the feeling you get when someone or something is hyped and everyone says it's amazing....then this router turns out to be hot garbage with the wifi part. Every morning I wake up to the wifi not working but the computer hard wired in is fine. I see everyone else has this issue on the reviews too. I'll give it two stars for the lack of firmware but first linksys I had that sucked. Netgear nighthawk hopefully won't disappoint.

So I switched my router from the standard one the ISP gave me to this beast of a monster, and I must say that I am now getting all of the speed the ISP is giving me. Do not get the monthly cheap ones they give you.

This router is great for my needs. It is safer than my other routers I've purchased because you reset the password when you set it up and the range is large enough for the whole house and no more lag.

My first day with this router, I'm gonna admit was a bad day. For some reason, the router wasn't recognizing my internet speed correctly, and because of that, I was getting less than 1 meg down for about a day. But it was an easy fix, and now I'm getting correct speeds, and I'm loving this router.

Had the device for a month. I have updated to a new cable modem with 150mbps. Router starts to drop WiFi every few minutes and needs a total reboot. Please do not buy without looking at linksys forums. It will turn you away. Wish I had done the same. I work in networking as a professional and I have tried every setting possible. Linksys has acknowledged a major problem in firmware issues and they do not have a fix. Before you buy, simply google: "Linksys WRT32x wifi issues" and read through 18 pages of angry customers.
