A solid follow-up to Siberia.

After spending a few years away following her incredible sophomore effort "Siberia", and its companion album "Siberia Acoustic", Lights is back with her third album "Little Machines". While I don't feel it quite recaptures the experimental magic of it's predecessor, "Little Machines" does prove good things come in small packages. The album is filled with light, airy, electronic pop, and generally stays in a pretty upbeat place throughout its 11 tracks. It's clear that becoming a wife and new mother, since her last album has played a big role in her lyrical content and overall disposition, but I think this album serves as a good jump on point for new fans, while still managing to satisfy the old ones. It definitely makes my personal best of 2014 list.

This is the album of 2014 for me. I've always liked Lights, from The Listening to Siberia, but Little Machines blows both of those out of the water. A perfect blend of dance, pop, and more. Pick this up right away!
