Little Big Planet is THE most innovative and original game of this console generation and another reason to own a Playstation. Nearly everything about this game is fresh, original, beautiful and above all, fun. And it has a ton of replay value as well. After you finish playing the lengthy story, you've still got a ton of great and original player-created content you can browse and play through as well as the ability to create your own masterpieces. I've played player-created versions of Sonic, Contra, MGS, Star Wars, Theme Parks, and even the Japanese TV show Ninja Warrior. My advice though, don't draw any conclusions about the game until you get to the second area of the story (Savanna) and played some high rated community levels (like The Bunker and Star Wars battle of Hoth) because it can be a little boring when you're just getting started, but after you really get into this game it will provide you with countless hours of quality fun. Oh and co-op is really fun as well. One last comment: This game has some of the best graphics on any platform. This is largely because LBP has some of the best art direction and level design out there for side-scrollers. My only complaint is it doesn't support true, native 1080p but that's really not a big deal since barely any games actually do. Overall an impressive, masterful game that makes me look forward to ModNation Racers in 2010. 5 Stars, hands down.

this is a fantastic game. the graphics will blow you away. this game uses the power of the playstation 3 to the limit. the gameplay is easy to pick up and play, so anyone can play instantly. one button to jump, another to grab, and the rest for customazation. controls are not confusing at all. the game also has tutorials for you that you can go back and learn incase you forget how to do something.the replay value in this game is endless. you can create your own levels or go online and play other peoples creations. so the game is pretty much never ending.
the only problem with this game is that the story is kind of short, around 5 to 7 hours. but still alot of fun.I recommend this game to all, especially for thoughs who have a mind to create stuff, you can pretty much create anything you want. buy this game if you own a playstation 3, it is great and alot of fun. trust me it is worth every penny.

I will not lie, I have been waiting for this game for a long time. When it was first talked about, they explained the idea and what they were aiming for and I was hooked, hoping they could pull it off and of coarse, they did. And i'm so glad they did because I was tired of being dissappointed by over hyped games that flopped. But I assure you, this is not the case when you turn it on.
With the look and feel like it should be a title aimed at an audience with a 7:00 p.m bedtime you'll get thrown off, I know. But the level of design, creativity, and sheer simpleness is what make this game stand out so much. Sure, the controls can be tighter but your not controlling Mario here. This is an environment where there are 3 different levels of depth at a time.
The story itself is not as gripping as titles that focus on character developement and storytelling. But at the same time as the level of difficulty throughout the game rises you'll become more and more interested in the level design and thought that went into making something so simple, so beautiful.
Then comes the online community it focus' on. When the story is over the levels become rather old and boring when you played them 20 times. So you turn to the online aspect and so far it is not very promising. It may be because it's a new game and they're working out the bugs but the servers being down more often than not it proves rather difficult. And when they are up you'll be lucky to find someone playing that isn't on your friends list and 7 times out of 10 there is so much lag in the game you have to quit because it is unplayable.
So go ahead and get it because it is worth it for the time you do enjoy it and hopefully they will fix all the online issues and make it what it's suppose to be, the A list game the PS3 has been waiting for. It's too late for me though by the time you read this I probably have traded mine in already for Call of Duty World at War.

Wonderful Game

To start with I have to say I am a Huge fan of this game since before it was released. But it truly is an amazing game and a reinvention of the classic side scrolling game. I am going to break my review into sections talking specifically about those topics.
Game play:
The game play is Very simple: you run jump and grab onto things. the difference between every other side scrolling platform game is there are 3 planes. and you can go between them at anytime. You will have to use the planes to get around objects, avoid enemies, and collect items. The only drawback to the mulit plane is sometimes the game will do its own thing. You also have the option to play the story levels by yourself or online.
Collecting items:
In every level you can collect a variety of things. there are Costume pieces, stickers, Level creation items and material for level design. And if you make it through the level without dieing (called Acing a level) you will be rewarded with additional items. Some items can only be gathered when playing multi-player. There are TONS of stuff to collect in this game. and as the levels go on they get more challenging, so collecting everything and acing levels gets harder and harder. But the rewards are worth it.
Customization:
This game allows you to customize your sackboy how ever you would like. by collecting new costume peices you can change the look of your guy whenever you want. and there are so many options you will never get tired of customizing him. You can place stickers where ever you want throughout the level or in your pod (where you select your games).
Creating Levels:
Creating levels can be very challenging and sometimes difficult and time consuming but it is up to your imagination to create as big or short of a level as you like.
Online Play:
There are hundreds if not thousands of levels other people have created online for you to play on. You can play online with friends or random people or by yourself. You can search based on ratings or newest levels so that you can easily play levels you like. you can also bookmark levels for later play.
Downloadable Content (DLC):
Since the game has been released there has been a large number of downloadable content. Some of it is free while the rest you purchase. And it doesnt look like Mm will be stoping any time soon. On Dec 23 they released the Metal Gear Solid pack allowing you to play 5 new levels, a slew of new stickers and level creating goodies and a paint gun. the new add-on I hope this is an indication that LBP will continue to grow, change and keep things fresh.
Overall this is a great game for every age. Its a great mulitplayer game and with all the customization and DLC it will be fun to play for a long time to come. It is a must buy for all PS3 owners.

I do not know where to begin here.
From the get-go, the graphics will grab you and when you run through the opening video about dreams and begin the credits and tutorial, you know you have just started something very special.
The customization in this game makes it yours. From customizing your own Sackboy (watch out for the toys to start raking in $$$ soon), to your own levels, this game truly immerses you in it's world. The create mode (The moon) requires some time to learn the basics of putting things together and triggerring events but once you get the hang of it (plenty of tutorials to help btw), it becomes magical.
These stages can be uploaded to the gaming community for others who do not care to take the time to create to play something fresh and new. This really takes the pressure off the developers to expand this game to keep the replayability going because it all falls on the gamers and it's brilliant, imo. You unlock tools for "The Moon" by playing through story mode and collecting trophies and parts giving a whole new meaning to the terms "treasure hunting" that have plagued platform gaming in the past with no real incentive!
Story mode is great and if you're a young gamer or parent, this is THE game that will get the whole family in the living room moreso than any Nintendo Wii game can hope to imagine, imo.
I spoke about culture in my description for good reason. The music in this game is absolutely brilliant and introduces sounds and tracks from musicians from all over the world. I am convinced the tuens are strong enought o capture the attention of gamers everywhere and make them explore other musics from different parts of the world. Ironically, the track that stirred a controversy of having the game delayed is one of the more ebautiful songs I have heard in a game. Hopefully the revised disks coming out later have the two controversial verses deleted rather than the whole track.
I have nothing else to say att he moment. This game is magical, a new "Pokemon" for a generation of gamers that can bring non gamers alike in front of the tele. This is the real deal and Media Molecule have created something that will be discussed and played for years to come.
Sony owes these guys a lot moving forward. Buy this game.

FUN FOR EVERYONE

This game is loads of fun. Sure it's a cute platformer with simple controls but it has a lot of depth to it. The game comes with plenty of well designed levels with unique settings, clever puzzles, and fun events. You can play them on your own or with up to 3 others locally or online which makes this great game even better.
I've had many funny situations happen when playing with a couple of my friends such as us dying when I jump up and try to grab an object and my friend accidently grabs me pulling us down to our death. We've also gotten into a sticker fight since any time during the game you may place stickers or ornaments and you can place them on other players as well. This brings me to the next great part of this game which is the custom content.
This game comes with a fairly simple level editor. It can be hard to master but should still be fun just to mess around in. People can post the levels they made online so anyone can play which means there is always new stuff to try out. Many of the levels are on par with the official ones so their worth trying out.
Overall I'd recommend anyone to get this. So far I haven't found a single person who didn't enjoy playing this game.

This game is fun! I'm sorry but it just is. I'm at a point in my gaming where a lot of First person shooters are getting old so my onion might be a little off from others how ever this game is a breath of fresh air! So far I'm played through a few levels alone (it hasn't released yet in the UK and the people I play with are in the UK). I can't wait to see the online portion of the game which is what I plan on doing next. The game is fun enough to keep adults entertained but not blood and guts so you can play with the little kids around (and even with the kids). If you don't know if you want this game their are rental places around and I suggest at least giving this game a try!
(Sorry this isn't an in depth review but I just got it today, and haven't even tried the online yet)

From the moment you being you adventure as your own little Sackboy or Sackgirl LittleBigPlanet is pretty much everything Media Mogul has promised. The user interface is easy to learn and the tutorials are located through out the game to always lend a helping hand. Plus there was never any real install time unlike other games for the PS3.
For the game its self I have to say that thus far I am very impressed. The levels are beautifully done and just challenging enough. The controls take a little getting use to and can get annoying when you are trying to gather stickers and decorations. I also like how there are little challenges you can unlock by finding keys located through the levels.
The level creator I really haven’t been able to play with because as you progress through the game you unlock more obstacles, stickers, decorations, and other things to use. Also since the servers were down I wasn’t able to play online and complete some of the obstacles that require two or more players.

The motto for this game is Play, Create, and Share. PLAY, play the levels included in the disc or play user-created levels. User-created meaning levels created by an average person, I've made 3 already. CREATE, well create your own level with obstacles, puzzles, and hazards. SHARE is share your level with the world. Anyone in the world can play your level on the PS3. This game is so cute and awesome. If you own a PS3 you should get the game. Most fun I had playing a video game in 5 years, and it is a game that constantly makes you smile.

Ridiculously addictive

LBP is possibly one of the most addictive and fun games I've played in a decade. I've rarely spent as much time in a video game as I have with LBP. My 2 daughters (Aged 2.5 and 4) love the game (the 2 year old simply likes to play the levels that I make for them) and my wife refuses to let me play alone. The game's pick up and play attitude is simply stellar. You can load up to four individual PSN accounts (local machine accounts) at the same time. Online and Local play also allows 4 people to play the levels co-operatively or competitively. While playing locally, friends on your PSN account can request to join in, and when they leave the game, LBP gives you the option to follow them to a new game. Everything is very seamless and it all contributes to the Online 'community' feel.
Playing other's levels is very easy as well. The levels are sorted by tags, ratings and also via PSN tags. Creating and publishing is the biggest part of the game, in fact, the story mode caters to the creator by encouraging 100% completion by offering exclusive level components that you can use in the editor.
ALL IN ALL? I love it.
My other current obsession game is WarHawk for PS3. And LBP has stolen all my WH time and I'm perfectly OK with that.

GAME OF THE YEAR!!!

The first second I popped LBP in to my Ps3 to the time the install screen popped up, I knew this game was going to be different. I watched Beta user videos on You Tube and Thats what encouraged me to buy this game. I'm so glad I bought this game, the story is trying at times but ultimately can be beat in 6 hours if you breeze through the levels. BUT I must tell you that I strongly encourage you grab every new item bubble, It makes your user levels more fun when you make them. I have yet to find anything impossible to reach as when I get to the 2 player parts in a level I simply press start and invite a buddy to help me out, they can leave shortly after they do. I would like to see what other game lets you have buddy support like that. I must say that the overall feel of the Media Molecule Levels are by far the best levels I've seen in a game. This doesn't fade like with some other games over time would. ( I have Mario Galaxy and never play it anymore) I must make clear that as far as the editor goes, it's not for the faint at heart (no offense) It requires alot of time to make the perfect level. I'm on version 3 of my first level. It has Unlimited bubbles (the game currency) I can't wait to learn the elevator tool, there are a ton of videos and sample areas to learn how to use things. It does take along time but its worth it when 10,000 sackboys/girls played your level and your #1 on the LBP community. The trophy system only sweetens the deal. You get trophies for just about everything you do. All I can say now is WHY DON't You Have this game already???, lol !!!!! Get it now!! 10 out of 10 5 stars and 10000% are my grades for this game. I recommend this game to anyone who nows what a Ps3 and a TV are. and have a little bit of imagination.

Great gaming experience

I purchased this game yesterday and wanted to give my initial experience with it.
Pros- The tutorials are wonderful and well done. Everything is a snap to learn and picking it up and playing for the first time should be easy for anyone from youth to experienced gamers. The graphics are gorgeous although only in 720p. (I honestly wonder what these developers think, when the most novice techie knows that 1080p is the future of television and gaming, yet they can't produce games capable of it. Possibly it has something to do with cost, but I'm just guessing on that one, because there's no excuse not to have a colorful game like this in full HD. That aside, it looks perfect on my 1080p plasma. The soundtrack is perfect for each stage of the game as well. I've only had minimal time to mess around with creating my own world/level feature but this is where the game excels! You can literally do just about anything you'd like if you've collected enough tools playing the story mode, and the physics engine is almost perfect!
Cons- There are very few cons that i've experienced in my short time playing however they are worthy of passing along to those of you considering the game. In the first 10 minutes of playing I had the entire game freeze up (except for the background music which did help to stop me from pulling my hair out) twice for periods of about 20-30 seconds. I then had a total system freeze and had to manually shut down and restart. The main points at which this seemed to occur was in the "Pod" or in the main menu area. As I played for a few more hours this seemed to not occur at all so I'm hoping it was some sort of initial glitch that won't be everpresent in the game (I'm really trying to stay optimistic anyway). If that does not happen anymore then the only other thing I can complain about was the inablility to get online with it for more than a few minutes. I'm going to chalk this one up to the fact that their servers were just slammed due to all the new users on at the same time (which I still think is ridiculous but we all know its just a part of gaming, especially if you tried to play CoD 4 online withing the first few weeks of it's release).
Overall I would say to please try this game at the very least. If you consider yourself a creative person with a little time to dedicate to playing around, this could be the game you've been waiting for your entire life.

This is a game everyone can enjoy. From children to old people. It's the type of game that will constantly have you smiling and laughing. Whether it be the cute facial expressions on Sackboy's face, his futile attempts to pull a block that's way to big, or even the hang time when slapping fellow LBP players in online multi-player mode, the game is just fun. I cant recall having this much fun jumping over obstacles or on enemies since Super Mario Bro's.
The graphics are awesome, the music is very entertaining, and as explained already- the game play is fun. Have a few friends over and play one the same screen or do it online. You won't be able to help but laugh.
With other creative gamers publishing different levels to play, its like a never ending game. You can always hop online an check out cool levels other players have created and play them solo or with your friends. I played a Mario level earlier today that was unbelievable to see. There was a Mirror's Edge level that was really interesting and even a Metal Gear Solid inspired level someone created. Custom made Sackboys gives your some individuality and character, and there's a lot of other pretty interesting stuff. This game is definitely a keeper.

When I first heard the concept of this game, I thought this would be a really bad video game. However, after playing it online and solo, I found myself laughing to the point of tears. You can make a "godzilla" chase you and your friend while you make a run to the finish line but the hilarious thing is, you can push your friend off the cliff while you are running to the finish line.
The game is as much as your creativity can go, and that's what makes it fun. Playing your own ideas and that of your fellow PSN people is simply awesome. Now if they can make sackboy shoot watergun or something it would be hilarious, not sure if you can or not but we'll see!
I would totally recommend this to others because it taps the mind of people playing it. It also brings a lot of laughter (I still laugh at the way he jumps, try running and jumping nonstop while controlling his arms to do stupid stuff lol).

When I first heard of this game i wanted it immediately. Just looking at the cover of the case makes you want to buy this game.
There are a lot of things to do on little big planet. You can play the story mode and collect prize bubbles and unlockables or you can go online for an exotic experience. There are many levels that people have created and is a must-play for anyone looking for a little hysterical enjoyment. The levels can be hard at times but you end up getting through it laughing and wanting to do another level. Finding all of the prize bubbles on each level really can get you agrivated at times. The second level got me mad because there is this one bubble that is impossible to find. Anyway, i would recommend this game to people the ages of 4 to 87 years old. Very interesting game and very enjoyable.

This game is one of the more dynamic games available. It has a ton of option beside the story line from creating your own levels and having other play to playing other people's online as well. They also have released an amazingly fun Metal Gear Solid add on for a few bucks which is a download of extra levels. Essentially the game is endless but story mode is shorter then expected and somewhat boring in single player. Multiplayer brings the excitement and game to another level.
