I liked "Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii" and thought it a shame it was relegated to the status of a fringe cult film and thus David Gilmour returns to center stage in a Roman tourist-town ampitheater where the acoustics are great. Mount Vesuvius can be seen in the distance before nightfall making the event all the more historic. Though "Echoes" isn't featured I also have "David Gilmour Live at the Albert Hall" on which it is performed accompanied by a dazzling light show. I saw Gilmour while he was performing promoting his "About Face" solo album and the visuals were quite dull and so he makes up for it at Pompeii while performing "Run Like Hell" and "Comfortably Numb," songs that he co-wrote with Waters. There are a couple of greats from the "Pulse" DVD; "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" featuring unabashed video of an LSD tribute, and "High Hopes" featuring video in which members of Pink Floyd, Gilmour Wright and Mason, poke fun at themselves as well as former band-mate Waters, along with contemporary political parties (Democrat/Labor and Republican/Torrie). If watching old white guys perform is not your thing, they have young hot black backup singers that will not bore you. But mostly I had to get this even though it was available on Youtube, just for the video that accompanied "Rattle that Lock" which was apparently influenced by Gilmour's wife Polly Sampson and her love of John Milton's "Paradise Lost." But really, since all these music stores have closed I was lucky to get a copy of "Metallic Spheres" that Gilmour performed with the psychedelic band, The Orbs, and so I don't have a copy of "Rattle that Lock" which is okay because the songs are performed live at Pompeii.

I’ve only watched it once but will watch again soon. It will certainly stand up to multiple viewings. Picture and sound are excellent.

This is a perhaps a best Concert blu ray i have, and I have those a lot. Live at Pompeii is such a great concert, not just for its superb music but for its visuality too. Sound and picture in this blu ray is second to none and all the musicians are fantastic. Still I have to say, that Gilmore himself with his guitar is the cream of the cake as he should be. The guitar sound is unbelievable as you would expect from him. A must have for musichave.

Video and sound is beautiful. Great concert playing the old classics in the familiar settings of the 70's original. Looks beautiful on my 85" Sony XBR.

This is a bad DVD because the sound is not in sync with there mouth. Like a 2-3 second delay. I could tell right away, then when David Gilmore spoke you could really tell. I have a 4K TV and the fact that this movie was shot in 4K and only realeased in Blu-ray makes me wonder? I don’t think the color is dead on either. Like It’s just regular DVD. I’ll return this copy for another then if that’s not good i’ll return it for something else. Oh, there great musicians with a fabulous light show. The other thing the movie doesn’t say anything about Pompeii 2. The case does. The movie doesn’t.

...but he hasn't played Echoes. To me that was almost an offense. Other than that is a great concert. The extras are great as well.

Big Floyd and Gilmour fan. This was good for $19.00 great sound and picture. You just have to remember Gilmour is in his seventies so the performance reflects that.
