This is Queen before they reached the stardom a few years later.
But that is not a bad thing! Queen had it all since they started and they rocked really hard when this concert was filmed.
This is the best footage I've seen from Queen at that time. The video is great and the sound is perfect. It was shot during their tour supporting the 3rd record. You may not find many hits here, but I recommend this for anyone that likes Queen, or good Rock and Roll.

Do you need the blu-ray or the DVD? Well, maybe.

This blu-ray version of Live at the Rainbow does not bring any more visual acuity to the table. So if you are looking for razor-sharp, crystal-clear visuals, you will be disappointed. Credit the low-res video recording of the time. You can consider this a blu-ray rip of the standard def DVD. Overall, the video quality is certainly good for the era and the production is without serious flaws. However, blu-ray does offer superior audio resolution with much higher sampling rates, so this is where you might find satisfaction. Just have the equipment to bring out the higher audio resolution.

I began playing guitar back when most of these songs were brand new. I've playing bass for $$ the past couple of years but this concert film makes me rethink that decision. Even though shot in '74, there are some excellent BluRay moments and sound is incredible

With so little good “Live” footage of Queen from this era; this is a blessing.
Stone Cold Crazy and Keep Yourself Alive will ignite your senses!
From Killer Queen through Liar this concert rocks harder than most.
A true delight for Queen fans of any era.

Not sure if Blu-ray brings any extra added resolution to the table, but if you can get close to the cost of the DVD, then go for it.

Hard to believe it's a 40 year old concert. Such clarity and great sound. And the band, young and vibrant. Great stuff!!

Queen sang too many songs that never became famous, and wore weird costumes. Good picture, but not great picture. Sounded good, though.
