Good movie to own so I can watch when I want to. I like to watch movies over and over

Picked this up on a hunch, and glad I did. It was fun and entertaining. I think I like Oblivion more though.

One of my favorite Tom cruise movies. Still waiting for them to make part 2

We loved this movie. It has plenty of action and Tom Cruise if 5 stars by himself.

While I am not the biggest fan of Tom Cruise, I have to say that of late he's been hitting far better than during the Vanilla Sky days. This effort is probably his best in the last few years, with the possible exception of Oblivion which I though was the smartest of the recent movies he's done. What makes Edge of tomorrow work very well is that nearly every time one starts to question why something is happening that might stretch credibility, there is an answer for it. Nothing they beat you over the head with, but just something enough to keep the movie from becoming cliche. I enjoy that Tom isn't starting off as the typical super spy/hero, but works into the role gradually, starting as kind of an every man that we can identify with and progressing - painfully - into someone that understands both the stakes, and the fact that sooner or later, he's going to need to make the largest sacrifice of all. This movie, despite the promise that he'll be reliving the same day over and over again, never get's tired in the least. A smartly done movie!

Edge of Tomorrow is one of the best sci-fi action films this year! The description "Groundhog Day crossed with Aliens" gives you a hint of what it's like, but there's a third-person gamer aspect as well. Tom Cruise had lost a bit of his shine for me due to his odd off-screen behavior, but his turn in Oblivion made me curious about this. It helps quite a bit that his character begins as a real unlikable and slimy PR rep, so it's actually fun to watch him get killed in various ways before he grows a spine. The filmmakers did just enough of the repeats of the time loop in which he gets caught to give the viewer a thorough understanding of the situation before moving forward. Emily Blunt gives a great performance as tough-as-nails soldier Rita Vratasky, and Bill Paxton's recalls his scene-stealing Hudson in Aliens. The extras are thorough, informative and entertaining, including the 25-minute Best Buy exclusive feature. And if you enjoy it, consider reading the original Japanese novella All You Need is Kill, upon which this was loosely based.

Never expected to like the movie as much as I did. Was a fun movie to watch.

The idea and plot was an attractive addition to the Sci-Fi Alien War genre.
