A few extras missing

I liked the series and this one holds true to the original character. I believe someone said that that the young woman playing McClane's daughter was the same actress who played her in 1987 as a young child. All that aside the only gripe I have about this DVD is that all of the extras mentioned, except the commentary were absent from the disk. No featurette and no music video. I really am ticked off that in order to get the Trailer I have to buy the 2 disc special edition that includes all the other extras that were mentioned here. Whats the harm in putting one more extra on the single disc. And since there were two trailers how come only the Blue Ray gets one and not both. ( I haven;t seen it so it may acually have the teaser and trailer.) All the other DVD's have their trailers and the special gift set released earlier this year also had the teaser. This is not the fault of Best Buy, but rather Fox.

only some of the action is unrealistic, but Bruce willis makes it believable just because of his age and performance. mcclane gets in some fights in this new installment and he literally fights for his life. this is what makes him the best action heroes of all time. tom gabriel played by timothy olyphant is a great actor but not menacing enough but hes still good in this. justin long is pretty good as the charming slacker. maggie q beats the crud out of macclane in one scene bruce willis is still playin that awsome cocky cop. the unrated version isnt as good as the rated sadly because some scenes are a little different and the tunnle scene had bruce saying a line that sounds like an Allstate commercial (after hes kills the chopper with the car). but at least his famous line isnt cut out of the unrated version.

Die Hard

I have never been a true fan of the Die Hard series, but I do have to give this movie its' fair credit. The whole thing is based on the theory of a computer massive scale "firesale".
+
In this installment, McClane (Bruce Willis) teams up with Matt Farrell (Justin Long), a computer hacker that accidentally helps an anarchist group begin their large scale hack.
+
From the beginning of the movie, as one would come to expect from the Die Hard franchise, there is a ton of action. The plot is not initially defined, but slowly peaks it's head out into the light as the movie progresses.
+
Mcclane will have to save the world from computer terrorists this time, and as you quickly learn throughout the movie, technology is not his strong suit. I would probably say that this movie is at least worth seeing once or twice. Not too bad at all.

No movie has yet to beat the original Die Hard, with John's wise cracks, and his spiteful conversation with his enemy. I'm not going to spoil this movie, but hey, there are some things that don't make it as warm a movie. No chatting or taunting the enemy was the main thing. This movie is good with all of the explosions you need. The ending is odd in the way McClane's captor holds his gun in a way that allows John to pull a heroic move. That just seemed lame, but at least John says that "Yippie-Ki-Yay......" line.
Let me sum it up. You found the right version of the movie if you want that classic line. Explosions, John McClane and his Beretta 92FS, it's Die Hard!

Best of the series

This was surprisingly really good. I can not believe I am saying this but I think it is the best one of the series. It is a little off from the normal DieHard plot or at least Bruce's characters was. But I really like the new style that he put on. So of the stunts at times were definitely way to from out there even for DieHard. However, they were amazing parts and were very entertaining even though it was not realistic. I highly recommend buying this movie. If your a really big DieHard fan this one could let you down due to Bruce's character being different. But all in all a very action packed entertaining movie.

Another Amazing Die Hard

Live Free or Die Hard is an amazing action film. I watched this movie and really thought how difficult it was to film some of these scenes. As the size of the scenes in this movie are massive. The action is great too from blowing up helicopters with cars to driving an SUV through a power plant. Obviously a lot of the action is a little unbelievable or unconceivable, but it is done very well, and this is to be expected in an action title. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I like this movie. If you are a fan of the previous Die Hards you will definitely like this most recent installment. Also with it being on Blu-Ray the sound and picture quality is much better than standard DVD. Definitely recommend this movie, especially on the Blu-Ray format.

One thing that I have to give to the latest instalment of Die hard is that it is a very entertaining movie. Great special effects mixed in with some witty dialouge. There were a few parts that were horribly unrealistic, but because of the pace of the movie and the great special effects, you barely noticed (as long as you don't think too hard about it; and yes Bruce Willis does win a battle agains a Harrier Jet) It is not a cinematic masterpeice by any means, but it is a great show to watch for entertainment or just to wind down.

The original 'Die Hard' film is the quintessential action movie. The first two sequels are very entertaining, but couldn't possibly live up to the original. 'Live Free or Die Hard' is a worthy entry in the series and the best since the original. Willis is in fine form and Justin Long proves he can hold his own. Fantastic action sequences and a tight story line will keep you on edge from beginning to end. The single disc unrated release has the theatrical release included as well as the unrated version.

John McLane is at it again, although this time his side kick is Justin Long, AKA the kid from the PC vs. Mac commercials! Justin is rather good in this 4th edition of the Die Hard series! As it would be, having Justin Long as the main character means the plot is centered around Computers, the Internet and it's security. Both Justin Long and Bruce Willis put in excellent action scenes along with some pretty funny ones also.
Live Free or Die Hard gets an A+.....

This is a great film. Bruce Willis nails his performance. Its an exciting plot with tons of action. Some people may dislike the film because its unrealistic. However, its the way the plot gels together that "suspension of disbelief" and comedy relief that really makes this movie great. One second your hearts racing from all the action and suddenly your laughing uncontrollably. Lots of great dialogue as well between bruce willis and his "nerd" side kick.

Finally, in this day and age, a great action film about
computer hackers. I loved it, my whole family loved it.
So much fun to watch. Can't wait till the next one.
Alot of CGI, but it really works. Don't listen to the professional critics, does anyone? The story line is intriging and you will love the kid with McClane.
Great cast, Great action, Great everything. Guess you can tell I love the Die Hard movies, buy it, have a blast.

Buyer Beware!!

I'm sure at this point you have seen the fourth installment of the Die Hard Franchise. The movie is awesome and my favorite of thit e four. But don't be fooled by the new packaging and the print at the bottom of the case. The Bluray is still the theatrical version, rated PG-13. This package contains both the Bluray disc and the DVD, which does contain the unrated version. I saw a Bluray case/package and print along the bottom that says it includes both the theatrical and unrated version. But that only relates to the DVD.
So the wait for the unrated Bluray continues. Fox drops the ball again...

This is a good movie, but you can tell it was catered to Bruce's aging limits as there wasn't a whole lot of the classic hands on action stunts where he's being thrown all over the place, but was slowed down to more of a dialogue "let's think things out first" kind of vibe. Still provides for lots of fun, but the previous Die Hards are better.

great movie. the movie takes place about 12 years since last one but they do a good job getting you back in the swing of things. incredible action sequences. to all the people thinking bruce has calmed down on his action im not sure what movie they were watching because to me he still has it. it might not have the same feel as the other three but still a must own for any person who likes explosions, guns and fighting. check it out

With Bruce doing 80 percent of his own stunts and all of the stunts being real this movie creates an awe-inspiring experience that will entertain anyone. Its still John McClane with his witty humor and crazy action techniques. And with the unrated version out, soon all the swearing too. This movie is a sure thing stocking stuffer!

This movie is amazing. It is just as good as the other three die hard movies. I am glad that this was released as unrated. It is totally different than the theatrical version. This dvd also has some good bonus features. Check them out and get this movie.

This is a just an overall fun film. It is not meant to make you think overly hard or anything like that. The action is so out-there it is amazing to watch. If you are looking for something with witty lines and heartfelt drama, look elsewhere. Take Die Hard for what it is: just a fun flick!

When I first heard about this movie I wanted to see it but was not sure how it would be with Bruce Willis getting up in age. This movie just shows that at any age you can still kick some butt. Check it out and see for yourself.
