After two decades, Live and Loud has been officially released by Nirvana. I'm glad they included the full concert as there's a lot of their set that didn't air on the initial broadcast on MTV.

This is the best document of Nirvana live. The setlist encompasses the band's entire career and the show features Kurt's live signing voice at its best.

Had lots of fun watching this music DVD with friends over the Thanksgiving weekend. Lots of memories with the kids!

This DVD contains a lot more from beyond the band's awesome show with performances from out of the U.S. gigs and the live and loud rehearsals.

Great to look back at how awesome of a band this was. So much potential, such a shame it ended so early.

I didn't realize it came with the Heart shaped box music video with the director's cut. Awesome!

One of my all time favorite bands growing up!!!!!!

This was filmed in early December 1993 and shown new year's eve that year on MTV. This & Nirvana's MTV Unplugged were two of the top concerts ever to air on their network (IMO) This is one of the few high quality videos of them performing a show with many tracks from the In Utero album. Show also features the addition of guitarist Pat Smear to the group. Though the shows sounded thicker with him, it sort of diminished their rawness which as a three piece was more affluent. Because it was filmed for MTV, it features a decorated stage reminiscent of elements of the In Utero LP cover. The quirks I have with this DVD is it doesn't play in widescreen, but the old standard TV screen size. Have to switch my TV to "cinema" to fill the screen. Despite that, the video quality is crisp & clear. Audio? It's too sharp; sort of tinny leaving the bass buried between Kurt & Pat's guitars. I've always loved this concert & glad the entire show has been released since only about 43 minutes of it was aired. Live at Paramount & Live at Reading are superior Nirvana DVDs but Live & Loud falls a bit short. Just seems the record company didn't give this concert the same spit & shine as the other releases. Other than that, this is a fantastic concert and a great addition to the Nirvana home video library!
