Customers are enthusiastic about the Jitterbug Flip2's ease of use, size, and reasonable price, frequently citing the large buttons and easy-to-read display as key advantages. However, some users expressed concerns regarding battery life and the volume, while others noted limitations with texting and speed dial capabilities. The emergency button was also a frequently praised feature. Reception quality proved inconsistent for some customers.

    Great for Grandma

Needed an easy to use mobile phone without the bells and whistles. This was it. Grandma doesn't see very well and is a little shaky. It was easy to program the phone for speed dial numbers and she has a large print "menu" of which number calls who to help out. Answering and "hanging up" by simply opening and closing the phone are the intuitive steps she needs. I see some of the older reviews calling out the lack of these features so Lively must be listening. She'll never use it to take a picture or exchange a text so can't speak to that. Phone and plan was easy to get set up and get connected and economical. Met our needs.

Decent phone and fairly straightforward to use

This phone does the job: make and receive calls. Although the interface is fairly straight forward, this is not a good option for elders with early-mild dementia. Got this phone for my elderly mother and every day is groundhog day with explaining how to navigate it. She is also the type who never wanted to learn how to do anything for herself ever so that is the second portion of the battle. There are plan options but we did not select the plan that enables the emergency alert/call so I cannot review that specifically. We also did not set up texting or test out the camera as those are too much for my mother to handle. Overall the phone is decent but the individual who would use it should have decent cognitive capabilities. It is straight forward but does have 'extra steps' just to make a call which could over time become annoying.

Pretty easy to use - check dates - some have been in stock for over a year and need additional updates- we thought we had it all set up with a customer service person…… But it still wouldn’t work right - just needed that customer service person who knew about the updates - 4 tries to get someone that figured it out

This phone has been a blessing. Very senior friendly, and easy for my 86 year old cognitively impaired mom to use. The charger stand makes it very easy for user's with limited use of their hands, or problems with eye sight. Service provider uses Verizon towers making service in rural area's a none issue.

Bought phone for my father, love the size of buttons but wish phone would be easier to make a simple phone call. Yes you can have contacts on speed dial, however not everyone in your contacts will be out on speed dial. When you select a contact you have to press ok like 4 times before you can place the call. Other than that phone works good and volume a great as well.

I bought this phone for my 83 year old mother who only desires a flip phone. This was the best flip phone that was out there at a great price. My mother loves it, and the beautiful color that it comes in. She is very satisfied with this purchase. Thank you, Best Buy for giving her the opportunity to continue to be able to purchase a flip phone at an affordable price.

I bought this for my husband as an easy to use flip phone since he won't learn to use a smart phone. He learned to use it when someone programmed most used phone numbers, but still doesn't use it.

The phone is a simple, basic phone with big butons for seniors that only need to talk (primarily) and text (occassionally). After being assured that Best buy would move the contacts from the old phone (Samsusung 10 Android) to the new phone, the Best buy rep expoerted all the contacts to a SD card - and charged me for it - and then after 10 minutes, said there were too many contacts and that we would have to move them manually without providing any instructions. Once we tried there was no way to access the SD card in the Lively phone and were told that they have to be manually input. Bottom line line - decent phone for seniors but Best buy "total Tech" is a joke and doesn't deliver what they promise - is that fraud?

This was an EXCELLENT choice for my father who is in a nursing home. We were able to easily program speed dial buttons so he doesn't need to enter 10 digits. It fits nicely in a pocket so he can take it with him to meals and activities.

    A Mediocre Phone

    Posted .

3 Stars - an average phone. Sound quality and volume is good, menu system is clumsy with way too many buttons to push to get anything done. It needs a “Delete All” menu item for voice-mails and especially for texts. Text messages display in a “window”, which makes them narrower than the screen. When you access a text the text menu stays on the screen and covers half of it so scrolling is mandatory to read even very short messages. Battery life is okay, I never use the camera so no opinion on it. So far I'm happy with Lively's service. This phone is not great, but it gets the job done. If you don’t want to deal with a “smart” phone you don’t have many options. I wish they could have upgraded my old “LG Env3" phone to 4G. That was an outstanding phone.

Bought this for my 85 year old mother in law. Her eyesight is poor. This phone suits her very well. We programmed the numbers for quick dial and she is now able to have regular phone conversations with family. Definitely recommend.

It's an easy to use flip phone. I didn't want a smart phone or be forced to buy a data plan. This phone is exactly what I needed as all I do is make phone calls on it. The numbers and keys are in larger print so that's an added bonus.

It took some time to actually activate the phone for my 94 YO mom, primarily due to my work schedule, but it was fairly easy once I had the time. It took another 45 minutes over 3 phone calls and some 'net time to successfully migrate the Verizon phone #, but the customer service reps were all very patient & knowledgeable, and successfully navigated all the hurdles to complete the switch. My Mom is still learning how to use it, but she finally has a cell phone she will use as it has clear sound, buttons her weak arthritic fingers can actually push, and a easy flip opening. (She could barely get her old phone open.) We haven't gotten into the emergency app yet, but are looking forward to that extra level of peace of mind as she still lives alone in her own home.

I purchased this phone for my 82 year old sister who lives in a nursing home. The store clerk set it up for me and then I entered the phone numbers. The only issue we have had is a user error. My sister has accidently placed it on silence three times and once erased all of the phone numbers. These issues are not issues with the phone but with the user. Lively has been great to work with. I have an account set up. They even allowed me to pay a year in advance so I didn't have to worry about the monthly bill. It is a great phone for someone who is older. It is easy to use, easy to charge and easy to program numbers.

Phone has been good for my 85 year old mother. However, the volume button being on the side of the phone where it is held during calls is a terrible design flaw. Very often while my Mom is talking, she inadvertently presses the volume button and turns it down to silent. She doesn’t know it is on Siena and then when I call and can’t get an answer, there is a panic on why she is not answering and requires someone to go to her house to turn the volume back up. Other than that, it has served her well. But this is an ongoing daily/weekly problem.
