The card has alot of rules, first you have to have it activated at the cash register, which you cannot do when you order it online for your son who is going to university in Canada. Second you have to then hook it up with the livescribe software account that you already created with your pen. Lastly the card terms say you have to use in in USA only. Well we shall see if thats true. Crazy because my son is in Canada and using the livescribe pen and software, hope he can get the card to work !!!

Its fun to use and convenient. I'm always doing calculations and I have a few calculators that I keep scattered through out the home. I'm always looking for an extra one and this one works nice at my desk. I don't know if I would want to use it for school work with more complex math. I would like the large screen. The pen itself is what is really great. I have a new organized note system that I'm looking forward to using. The pen uses a software program called Evernote that works with smart phones and web browsers to organize everything.

Did not get to use this. Purchased and activated then found out it can not be used by the Livescribe 3 pen. Livescribe would not refund my purchase price nor would best buy. Just make sure you have the right Livescribe pen to go with this card. Disappointed.

Now I'm able to do math work along with text notes

I really enjoy this calculator card. I keep one in my Livescribe case and another in my wallet. Yes, it does take a minute to activate, but this is only to deter from theft. It was downloaded and ready to use in about three minutes. I would definitely recommend to other Smartpen users!

I bought the calculator card to use with my Livescribe pen. It needs to be set up with the pen and it says that the card has not been validated. I've read similar complaints at Livescribe's web site. :(
