Excellent Sci Fi from the Seventies

An excellent early Sci FI movie before computerization with a great trio: Michael York, Jenny Agutter & Peter Ustinov. One of my old-time favorites to which Blu-Ray does credit. Where did they find all of those young, non-overweight extras? They would not find them today.

Logan's Run is CLASSIC dystopian science fiction

Logan's Run is CLASSIC, 1970s dystopian science fiction, like The Omega Man (1971; starring Charlton Heston), Silent Running (1972; starring Bruce Dern), Soylent Green (1973; starring Charlton Heston, Edward G. Robinson), or Rollerball (1975; starring James Caan, John Houseman). Film trivia: Logan's Run saved MGM Studios from BANKRUPTCY, earning a "stunning box office of $25 million."

This is a great science fiction movie. I saw this film back when I was in high school. It is a great film. Michael York is great as Logan, and Jenny Agutter is great in her first film. She went on to star in another horror film "An American Werewolf in London". Peter Ustinov stars in this film too. A great cast.

1970's Si-Fi For Sure

Classic Si-Fi, utopia with a twist story, which holds up a lot better than the movie itself. I loved this back in the day, and enjoyed watching it again, but today's generation will probably have a hard time getting into it. Still, great to see it again.

Blast From The Future

This is a great time capsule sci-fi movie that shows what mid 70's thought our future might look like. The special effects are a bit iffy but it sure was a blast to see the outfits and the hairstyles of the " future". This was the last big sci-fi movie before Star Wars changed the entire model.

Dated and Screaming for a Remake

Great film in the 1970s but seems a little old now. Filmed in a then-futuristic shopping mall, the sets could use an upgrade, too. But it is a nice shiny future not a grim one so popular today. Jenny Argutter is hot in her disco outfit (another sign the film is dated).

This is a pretty cool movie for its time, hard to believe it's been more than 45 years ago. A good futuristic story with a good plot and some decent acting.

While this is a dated movie, it's still a great story. No one thinks they will ever be a runner, until they become one. A great story with a good cast.

A late seventies SF film. It is fun clever and rather sexy for a PG film. Probably best not to think too deeply about the plot and just enjoy the ride. The special effects don't hold up that well, but do not ruin the film.

William Nolan's classic tale of a post apocalyptic hedonistic society gone wrong. This film could only have been done in the early 70's. It holds up over time and is still disheartening that Farrah Fawcett has just a brief appearance.

I remember watching this as a kid! The acting and special effects are on par for the 70's, but this movie had some great themes to play out. Population control by death games and age being the regulator. But what happens when you're not ready to die???

from a technical standpoint, the BD release is pretty good, good PQ audio leaves a bit to be desired, but still pretty good, special feature are decent for this type of release, the movie may not have aged very well, but this presentation is very good

Great movie. I saw this movie many years ago when I was a lot younger. Even for its time the movie was and still is futuristic. I had to have this movie in my bluray collection. I consider this movie a classic.

a classic 1970s sci-fi movie the style and motiff is definetly dated but that just adds to it. its a great story that has never been duplicated properly even with many attempts to do so. a must for any sci-fi movie fan.

This is the original dystopian story that others, like Hunger Games and Divergent, are built upon. With a protagonist placed into a no win situation, he must face his own beliefs for the lies they are and then return to change the society in which he was raised. Peter Ustinov is wonderful as the old man and Farrah Fawcett has a small part that plays into her wheelhouse. Even with the flawed costume, I loved the appearance by Roscoe Brown as well. Although you may laugh at the special effects compared to today's standards and some overacting/underacting by the main characters, this is still a great story.

Remember seeing this in the theater so long ago...intrigued then that it was filmed on location in Fort Worth, Texas and had Texan Farrah Fawcett as well.
Glad to find it on Blue Ray! Enjoyed this blast from the past!

I absolutely loved this sci-fi movie growing up, and now that I am of age it would be well past my time to "go to carousel." This is a classic sci-fi thriller that provides an excellent comment on society both now, and in the future while blending action, suspense, and a bit of irony.
