The Logitech C615 1080p Webcam is a product that aims to offer high-definition video calling and streaming capabilities to a broad audience. While it carries the promise of Logitech's reputable brand name and the allure of 1080p HD video quality, this extensive 2-star review will highlight the areas where the C615 falls short of expectations, underscoring the reasons behind its disappointing performance. **Video Quality and Performance (2/5):** Despite its advertised 1080p resolution, the Logitech C615's video quality leaves much to be desired. Users might expect crisp, clear images from a webcam of this caliber, but the reality is often a mix of overexposed shots and grainy footage, especially in less-than-ideal lighting conditions. The autofocus feature, while intended to keep the video sharp, struggles with consistency, often resulting in moments of blur as it attempts to refocus. This becomes particularly problematic during important video calls or when trying to capture precise details during a stream. **Build Quality and Design (3/5):** The C615's design is compact and portable, with a folding mechanism that is beneficial for users on the go. However, the build quality does not fully match the convenience of its design. The plastic construction feels somewhat flimsy, raising concerns about its durability over time. The mounting mechanism, while versatile, lacks stability when attached to certain monitors, leading to a precarious setup that could potentially disrupt video capture. **Audio Quality (2/5):** For a webcam that purports to offer a complete video calling solution, the C615's built-in microphone is underwhelming. Audio captured by the device often sounds tinny and distant, lacking the clarity and richness one might expect. This compromises the overall communication experience, necessitating the use of an external microphone for professional or high-quality audio needs, which adds to the overall cost and inconvenience. **Software and Compatibility (2.5/5):** The Logitech software provided with the C615 is intended to offer additional features and customization options to enhance the user experience. However, the software often feels cumbersome and unintuitive, detracting from the plug-and-play simplicity many users seek in a webcam. Compatibility issues with certain operating systems and video calling applications further limit its versatility and usability, frustrating users who expect seamless integration with their existing setups. **Customer Support and Warranty (3/5):** Logitech typically offers reliable customer support, but feedback from C615 users suggests a mixed experience when dealing with issues related to this particular model. The warranty coverage is standard, providing some level of protection against manufacturing defects, yet the process of claiming warranty can be tedious and time-consuming, with some users reporting dissatisfaction with the resolution of their concerns. **Conclusion:** The Logitech C615 1080p Webcam, while a product of a reputed brand, significantly underperforms in key areas that are crucial for a high-quality video communication experience. The disappointing video and audio quality, combined with the build and software issues, significantly hinder its effectiveness as a reliable webcam solution. While its compact design and portability might attract users looking for a mobile video calling device, these features are overshadowed by its shortcomings. Given its price point and the competitive alternatives available in the market, it is challenging to recommend the C615, leading to a 2-star rating. Potential buyers might find better value and performance by considering other options or investing in higher-end models that more reliably meet their needs for high-quality video and audio capture.

Great quality webcam that I use for my everyday work calls. The video quality is crisp and clear, and it feels expensive. The camera is absolutely reasonably priced and I'll highly recommend getting it if you're not a freak.

its really just plug and play. you really dont get to see the quality of the video if you just use a regular computer monitor. i hooked this up with a hp stream mini and that connects to an led tv.

This camera is a great all around unit. It was fairly easy to install once the software was loaded. It was not total clear how to do this but after 5 minutes the software was uploaded and working. The camera it self is excellent. Sound and Video is very good quality. Can handle skipe or a business meeting. Glad I bought this. And it was on sale at time of purchase so that made it even more attractive. Spent months doing research on this and it was well worth it.

Well, I received the camera yesterday and it was pretty quick and easy to setup. The picture and video quality are really good. The reason i didn't give it a five is because of the length of the USB cable. It is only about 3ft and it won't reach from my desktop to the top of my monitor. Pay attention to the length you need and be sure to buy a USB extension cable if you buy this camera.

I got this for work meetings from home. It was okay, it did the job, but it was such a wide screen angle that the whole room behind me was in the shot and I was just a dot. I really hated that I could not alter that, my co workers had no business seeing into my home, I 'd never would have invited them over after all. I went back to my old grainy camera quickly enough.

Love the picture quality and that it folds up neatly for travel. A coworker recommended it and I’ve since sent to other colleagues to purchase. Great price For such a quality webcam. Super light easy to setup and sits perfectly on my monitors. Easy to move around as needed.

This webcam is great. It does what I want it to at a low price. It's small and portable as well and fits on top on my monitor perfectly. It also offers some good sound quality too. The picture may be too sharp for some people but overall the quality isn't bad at all. It's clear and useful for those who like to video chat.

I'm not really sure why this has so many four- and five-star reviews. I don't buy webcams very often, so maybe my expectations are unrealistic, but to me this was just a really disappointing experience. I purchased this on the recommendation of the Wirecutter, since the built-in camera on my Huawei MateBook X refuses to work with Zoom, Camtasia, or really anything other than the Windows camera program. It was their "budget" pick (although the price has gone up $20 since their review was posted), so I knew not to expect lots of bells and whistles or the best quality. First off, packaging: The camera was placed at the top of the box, so the whole rest of the box was filled with cardboard that served no discernible purpose except maybe some cushioning. This could have come in a much smaller box. The camera was covered in cling film on just about every surface, but I still found a scratch on the face of it. It also seems like the plastic on the edge of the camera is really shiny and will scratch easily. Setup: Painless. It took a second to figure out which way everything went, but I got it clipped onto my laptop lid, plugged it in, and it worked right away--no software or drivers or anything. Quality: Hooooo, boy. I started off using the built-in Windows camera software. I felt that the autofocus was having a hard time focusing on my face, even at a variety of distances, and it was almost focusing better on the background. I took both still photos and video, and they were . . . meh. The microphone seemed to work reasonably well though. I then decided to Zoom with myself on my phone (an iPhone XS Max) to see how it might look to others. Unsurprisingly, the video quality from my phone's front camera was much better in comparison, but since selfies are such a part of our lives these days it kind of makes sense. I have an ancient iPad Air 2 that I also use with Zoom sometimes, so I decided to get it in on the action too. I was surprised that even the iPad's front camera seemed to produce sharper and better-looking video than the webcam--this iPad is 5 years old, and it has a 1.2 MP front camera with 720p resolution and up to 30 fps. The C615 has a 2MP camera with 1080p resolution and 30 fps, and I had just taken it out of the box instead of having it bumping around with me for the past 5 years--so what's its excuse? Just for fun, I decided to compare the C615 with my computer's built-in webcam--the whole reason I needed to purchase this thing. I found that using the same Windows camera program with the Huawei's camera, I got better-quality video and still photos. The resolution was lower, but this actually produced a flattering result (goodbye, fine lines!), and the focus was sharper. In an era where built-in webcams are standard, one of the major selling points of a separate webcam is the promise of better image quality, and the C615 couldn't even manage that. Literally the only advantage the C615 has over the built-in webcam is that it works reliably with programs other than the Windows camera program (admittedly, not a small consideration). I'm torn as to whether to return it or not. On the one hand, returning is a hassle, and it's more convenient to use this with Zoom than it is to try to set up my phone as a webcam every time I need to use it. Plus, it's virtually impossible to find webcams these days in general, so I don't want to wait even more months to find something else. And it is kind of nice that it folds up on itself for storage/travel, although there is still a gap between the base and the lens so you will probably want to get one of those little sticky lens covers. On the other hand, it frustrates me every time I look at it that I spent $60 for literally the most basic-functioning webcam that, from an image quality perspective, is demonstrably inferior to every other camera device I own, including my laptop's built-in webcam. Really, it looks awful. If I weren't too lazy to actually sit at my desk instead of my couch, I could buy a $5 app and use the tripod I already have to set up my phone or iPad as a webcam and have significantly better quality. If I wanted a bare-bones, no-frills webcam with so-so quality, I would have just gotten one of the no-name brands on Amazon instead of paying more to get a name-brand from Best Buy. I think the deciding factor for me will be whether it is worth $60 not to have to keep using my iPhone every time I have to Zoom. Here is my advice: If you just want something that works, you are okay with paying more for a name-brand but only need bare-minimum quality, and you're not in a position to hold out for something better, this may be for you. But if you can wait for something better, do so. tl; dr: Pros: simple to use, it works, microphone works fine, price is not horrendous even if it's not really worth the $20 price jump, folds up nicely. Cons: poorer image quality than even your built-in webcam, autofocus is terrible, wasteful packaging, looks like it will show wear quickly, NOT worth the extra money for the brand name and NOT worth the price.

Hi prettyinpinknwhite, thank you for your feedback! The C615 webcam features 1080p @ 30 fps, very portable design, and the ability to swivel. Most video software will default to 720p. Great little camera for the price. Didn't use for webcam but used for live cam feed and works great. Just no full screen option withouth downloading some type of software for video cam.

I bought this camera in anticipation of us doing more work from home during the pandemic. The picture and sound clarity is amazing for the price. It has made our video interactions with friends and family a wonderful experience when we cannot be together. Set up was super easy. Well worth the investment.

Easy to set up. Very good picture and sound. Very glad that I purchased it. I ordered the Webcam over the phone, and the Best Buy Representative I spoke with was very helpful. I bought it almost 2 years ago and it still works great.

This is my second cam of this type that I buy. Very good quality for chats and videoconference, not to expensive, will not break the bank but is on the high end of the range with excellent video quality. Definitely to be recommended. Just one thing: has a very short cable and it's attached to the camera so you may need to buy a USB extension cable (female-male type A).
