Overall very satisfied with the product, it has very good image quality and is very easy to set up, the equipment/materials also seem well made. The camera is super sensitive and at first I was getting alerts when insects flew in front of the camera! The sensitivity can be adjusted though to not pick up smaller objects like that. It would still be nice if there was an infrared option instead of picking up any and all movement (leaves, bugs, clouds). Also would be good if they added a scheduling feature so it will only record when you're not at home, this is not currently an option, but hope that it will be an update in the future.

I am a family practice doctor who was broken into twice before I could get these cameras bought and installed. Fortunately he came back for 3rds. They were super simple to install and were up and running in no time. I received an email that motion was detected at about 1130 at night. I was able to connect remotely as I was out of town but clearly saw the burglar snooping around the inside of the office. The police were notified and he was apprehended. They were extremely impressed with the night vision quality as well as the sound and because of this evidence they say he will be behind bars for a long time. It was very easy for them to retrieve the data they needed and take it with them as evidence. Can't say enough good things about this system. I can finally rest soundly now knowing that this works so well!!!

    camera to cover the distance

I had been trying to get a camera set up in my barn to monitor from the house. I tried for 4 days straight to get something going, the distance (500ft) was too much for everything I tried. When I picked up this one and talked to logitech about the ethernet over power they told me the furthest they had tested it was 425 ft. I set it up using 500ft of extension cords and it popped right in within 30 seconds. Unbelievable, software is excellent and easy to use, and so was the set up. Recommend to all.

They record to an SD card and copy the video to a pc when you launch the application. You can get alerts via email when it detects movement and the night vision is amazing! I use the iPad and Android app to view live video from both my outdoor and indoor camera.

Need to be a tech geek to set it up, works great.

To interface the camera to your home network, the AC for the camera must be plugged in to an outlet on the same breaker as the other outlet you plug the network adapter into because a signal travels from one to the other via the wire path. Once you have the camera on your network, the software is great and, as long as your computer is on, the camera will download any motion it captures to the computer's hard drive. The camera's internal video card will record several days if your computer is not on and then download once the computer is turned on and the camera application started. The camera can be monitored in real time on your computer. I also have the free smart-phone app which allows me to monitor the camera while I'm away. Unfortunately you can't monitor the camera's sound with the phone, only with a computer via web interface or control software that comes with the camera. I've found the night vision to be quite clear. If a light comes on at night the camera takes a moment to decide if it is going to use infra red or not. Various family members can also look in on my camera from their computer or smart-phone since I've given them the access codes as well.

Camera lacked SD card. Purchased 16 GB SD card. Card worked on 1st day but quit on day 2. Hour long calls to tech support coould not get 16GB card to record. 2GB card arrived and worked. Then got 16GB card to work. Night vision is weak and oscillates between B&W for night vision and color at dusk. Turned night vision off as useless. Returned home 1700 miles distant and mobile commander wouldn't load video. Tech suport informed me I should have left a computer at the local network. USELESS. Irritated for a couple days and went out to purcahse a laptop to send out and hire someone to install. At store, called up mobile commander and video loaded. Tech support almost cost me several hundred dollars in a laptop and installation. Not very pleased with the experience. I am pleased with the final result.

I installed the system about a week ago and have been very pleased. It was easy to connect to the network and the quality of the picture - during the day and at night - is excellent. The only knock against the system is that the android app to view the picture on your phone works only part of the time.

    great video, unreliable remote viewing

I have the 750e, using it internally but wanted night vision. The video quality is excellent, better than some other cameras I've seen reviewed on YouTube. Storing videos to local HD and viewing from PC on same LAN is fine. Remote viewing with web page and iPhone app are both unreliable, often either not connecting or producing 503 error which was reported almost a year ago and still occurs. No feature to forward videos to the Cloud so if your HD is stolen with the camera you will be clueless. Also the video is transmitted over AC power lines, this is ok as long as all the cameras and PC recording video are on the same circuit breaker. If not, install gets more complicated requiring POE router. So to summarize, great for local video, not so great as a security camera with remote viewing.

My Most Problem-Plagued Product Bought for 2011

After a careful review of comparable products, the Logitech 750 series seemed like the best value. There seemed to be a number of issues on installation, but I have done similar projects and this one did not seem too difficult. Weeks after the installation, it remains non-functional. Here is a summary of the experience. 1) Software and hardware was easy to install, but did not show camera image. Customer Support agreed I had been sent a defective Network Adapter. Only after they received my defective unit, did they send me a functional one, though they promised to ship once my UPS drop-off was confirmed. 2) Still did not work. Customer Support said it must be my Norton Firewall. Promised to send me instructions on a fix, but did not. Two days pass, I call, remind them, they say it was sent, then minutes after my call their e-mail arrives. 3) Call Norton. We turn OFF the firewall completely and it still doesn’t work. 4) Call Customer Support and we try various procedures to isolate problem, but it still doesn’t work. They say they will have a “higher level tech” work the problem. 5) Two days have passed, I called them again and they said they will have the “higher level tech” contact me. Even if I eventually get a response from Logitech and we get it to work, the experience has been too miserable to justify owning this product. Since other buyers reported no problems, hopefully you will be one of the lucky ones if you buy this system.

    Powerline networking is iffy

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This camera and network interface uses your electrical distribution system to provide the network connectivity. There is no alternative method provided. If plugged into the same circuit as your router it works great. But there is no marginal or acceptable performance. Where I needed to plug it in there was zero connectivity. I don't know what the criteria are or how your house or office needs to be wired to make this work. But the only way it would work in my house is if it was plugged into the same circuit (same circuit breaker) as my router. So, I returned it, thankful I'd bought it at Best Buy with the 30 day return policy; kudos to Best Buy for standing by their customers.

After ordering 2 other outdoor security camera, this one by far is THE BEST. super easy to setup, no editing your browsers, no fuss. Very Very easy to setup. The control of this is awesome, you can check your cam from anywhere. Logitech server is abit slow, but very nice addition. The only problem I had was the cost of the. Its very expensive, but in the end, your safety and security is the most important. I recommend this to anyone!

Way Better Than a Pricey Home Monitoring System

I LOVE this camera system! I can see what's going on outside my house at any time and for $80/year, I can see the playback of anything captured by the camera - all on my phone. I can't wait to catch the teenagers that have an annoying habit of loitering on my property.

    Frequent manual reset is needed.

At the beginning, it looked okay. But later, if power is off, it cannot recover itself. You need to reset, which means open the cover and push the tiny hole with a pin. Imagine that you install it on a high wall. It is terrible. Also its communication is not reliable either to the modem. Do not waiste your time and money.

I purchased my Logitech camera without doing research, and was very pleased to find out this cameras are the best investment ever. Cameras detect everything even passing cars at night. The only drawback about this cameras is the fact that they only record when Any motion is detected. Wish I could change that and have them record constantly. Good thing is all the recorded data goes straight to my computer's drive. I can even save that recorded, important data or delete it.

Great product... you get what you pay for but it is a little pricey. I've bought three cameras in total for monitoring the outside. Top notch quality during the day and good night vision at night. Great sound capture as well.

Recently purchased this and two additional cameras for my home. Installation was simple and Mac compatible. Logitech Alert allows me to keep tabs on the home while I am away. I like iOS access from anywhere, but I find that the desktop app could easily replace the web app. Unfortunately, the desktop version only works on the same home network. I think it's just silly to have to use a separate web version when I have it installed.
