Customers frequently mention the excellent sound quality and ease of use of the Chorus Off-Ear Integrated Audio for Meta Quest 2. Many appreciate its lightweight design and improved bass response, although some users note that battery life could be better and that compatibility issues exist with certain accessories. The price point is also a subject of some discussion. A few users found the USB-C connection to be less than ideal.

Really Great Oculus Off-Ear Audio Solution

Sound is as essential to the virtual experience with the Oculus as the visuals. Unfortunately, poor sound quality can take ruin your experience. These off-ear headphones do a great job of delivering the virtual audio you want to have with your Oculus experience.
Because they are off-ear headphones, you don't feel like you've got earbuds or headphones on. However, they are an improvement over the Oculus built-in speakers. You get louder volume, more bass, and a more immersive audio experience.
I love that there is no power switch or button. Instead, they turn on when you lower them into place once you've got your headset on and adjusted. Also, because of their design, they are very lightweight, hardly noticeable at all. The headphones are powered and fed audio through the Oculus power port on the left side.
The biggest downside with these speakers is that they're designed for use with the original head strap that comes with your Oculus. I purchased a head strap with extended battery life, and while I love these speakers, I love a more extended virtual experience. All in all, though, they were well worth the money spent.

Solid Upgrade

The Logitech Chorus off-ear integrated audio is an easy and substantial upgrade to the Meta Quest 2. Out of the box, setup is effortless. Simply slide both arms onto your headset and route the thin cable through the headstrap. Headset connects via the Quest’s USB-C port and has a passthrough port on the bottom of the left arm. Chorus may drain the Quest 2’s battery slightly quicker than normal; however, I have not measured this.
Build quality is solid, plastic used on the Chorus is similar to the Quest 2. Speaker frames are constructed of metal. Weight distribution feels good as the product only weighs 6.42 ounces. Headset does not hinder my movement nor comfort with the base Quest 2 strap. This product is compatible with all 3 official headstraps.
Speaker rotation is adjustable with 7 tactile clicks ranging from straight back to about 60 degrees down. Rotating either speaker to the topmost position mutes both speakers. This headset does not touch your ears, a design akin to the Valve Index. At the lowest position, both speakers were directly over my ears. Tactile clicks are somewhat stiff and will shake your headset and subsequently your VR view while adjusting.
Audio sounds considerably better than the stock with “custom-tuned off-ear acoustics”. Volume must be turned higher than the integrated audio for the same level.
My Quest 2 has seen heavy use and travel, and as a result the arms on the Quest where the Chorus attaches to have become noticeably dirty. The Chorus covers this dirt and gives my Quest a clean, white look once again. I appreciate the simplicity of this product as well.
Overall, the Logitech Chorus VR headset is a well thought out product and a good improvement over the stock Quest 2 speakers.

Better Sound, Easy Setup, Great for Gaming

I have been using the Logitech Chorus Meta Quest headset for over a week now and I am impressed. It's fair to say that Meta's Quest could have better sound. Previously I have been using a corded headset, which sort of undermines the free experience you normally have with the Quest. Enter the Logitech Chorus. Set up is incredibly easy, the chorus speakers slide on and clip to the existing arms of the Quest, there's a thin flat wire that connects the Left/Right side. The connection is made by a flexible USB-C connection, no pairing, no software, it all just works. There's a USB C pass through so you can still charge with the Chorus on your Quest. Not surprising, the Chorus adds a little weight to your Quest. I was a little anxious at first because "weight is weight" on a head, but aside from needing to make some msmall strap adjustments on first use, it was all fine. I played Beat Saber freely without an issue but with MUCH better sound. Vader Immortal felt much more immersive. The Chorus powers from the Quest. I didn't notice any real battery impact, but I typically play only for 30minutes at a time. The only downside is that with I couldn't use my (unofficial) Quest case with the Chorus headset still on my Quest and it was a little more difficult to remove than I expected (the USB C connection plug is tight and hard to remove). I would recommend that if you are using the Chorus you always keep it on your Quest, but in my case this needs I will need to buy a new case for my Quest. It would be nice if Logitech had a little bag or made the USB C plug easier to remove, so you could pack it away neatly when not in use. But that's a small issue. If you want better sound with your Quest, then this is for you.

These headphones can’t handle even marginally low bass tones. They get staticky and sound like a cheap blown speaker. When they’re not distorting, the audio is no different than the built in Quest audio. There’s really no advantage at all. I regret purchasing these.

Doesn’t seem any different from the speaker in your headset. but only thing I’m annoyed about is that they use USBC? When the audio jack is right next to it. So you can’t use a cable link or charge your headset while it’s plugged in. Makes no sense

Oculus leveled up

They Oculus just leveled up the VR experience. I absolutely love the sound, the clarity and the fact that it’s not IN my ear. I actually appreciate this device for how it was created; keeping in mind that most people can get so engrossed they wouldn’t hear someone calling out.
Installing the audio pieces was easy and just requires sliding them on, keeping in mind there’s a wire connecting the two (Left and Right). They DO NOT require any charging as they get their power source from the headset itself. It plugs right into the side of the headset.
If you need to stop listening you just simply fold down the two speakers Upward and the sound stops. Move them both downwards and the sound begins automatically.
The sounds that you hear are a mixture of near and far, such as when something in the VR world you are in has a close proximity to you or far from you. Just as when you are walking in real life and some sounds become clearer because you are approaching them and they start to wane as you walk past them.
If there are several sounds in the VR environment you are in (such as a movie) you’ll be able to differentiate the different sounds. The unit is light and easy to install and use. It’s definitely a game changer in the VR experience and a must have.

Adds new value to the VR experience

Without question, this is an excellent addition to my Quest 2. Installation was simple and within 5 minutes, I was up and enjoying the new amplified soundscape.
Being I have the Elite strap, the connection was simply slide each speaker onto the corresponding side. Confusing at first, but cleared up pretty quick. The Chorus is surprisingly light for what it provides. After a few minutes of usage I forget that it's there. As advertised, it has yet to get in the way of using the headset.
So far, I have watched a few movies and a few extensive games. Having something produce such full sound all while not touching your ears is something that has to be heard. It really heightens the experience. The game I have been frequenting more often than not is Thrill Of The Fight. From the crowd sounds to the punches being thrown, the sound envelopes you into the game. Thrill is a fairly rigorous game for movement, and I had no issues wondering if the speakers were going to fall of or not. They survived all the movements I could throw at them.
As for the sound. As described, very full, and yes, it does handle mixes well. I was watching a film on Netflix, and a car drove by. In plain stereo, which I expected, the sound remains constant in both ears on a center channel. In the Chorus, you hear the audio panning. Simple pleasure, but great to have some level of sound adaptation besides just being loud.
Which brings me to the negatives. The sound is loud, and I rarely go above 80%, but anything above 80% and some apps start to become distorted. I noticed it across a few, so that would rule out the app itself. Once again, 80% is more than enough volume for me, but just noting it's there.
The second is the USB C connection. It's pass through for power only. Using the Chorus, you lose the ability to connect your PC with a link cable for PC gaming. I use Remote Desktop so I don't have as big of an issue, but being this is a selling point for many Quest 2 buyers, you'd assume complete USB C functionality would be a definite inclusion. It.
Besides those two issues, I say this is a must have for Quest 2 owners. Whether on the go or at home, it definitely adds new value to the VR experience.

Time to Saber those Beats!

I like to play a lot of games with music on my Quest 2. I currently play Beat Saber, Golf+, and Propagation regularly. When I’m playing Golf+ I like to bump music videos. I also get pretty sweaty when playing on the Quest 2 so I didn’t want over ears. I got the Logitech Chorus because I wanted to step up my audio game. The Quest 2 speakers sound decent but I wanted a little more. The installation process was very easy. I took them out the box and I currently have the elite strap on my quest 2. At first, I was worried that it would cause an issue or be hard to install but to my surprise, you literally slide it from the front onto the quest to plug it in and you’re literally done. It was very seamless which I really much enjoy because I also have the travel case for the Quest 2. If it was cumbersome to take it on and off and we kind of an issue because it does not fit in the case with them on. Once I start using it man, it was a whole new world using the Quest. You get extra bass and mids. The sound clarity is good. I was bumping music in Golf+ and for fun I unplugged the Chorus to see what kind of difference it really made. And wow I thought the Quest speakers sounded okay for the longest time. But when I tell you how hollow and flat they sound after using the Chorus’s it’s crazy. The weight is very light and they look great. The raise the mute feature is great for when someone is try the talk to you or you are super scared and want to make sure that zombie isn’t really there. And man these bad boys really help make you feel immersed without being super intrusive. They are off ear so there will be some sound bleed but they actually perform very well with it being not super loud when you are a bystander. I really enjoy this addition to my Quest 2. Only gripe I have is that it does seem to push bass a little too much at times we’re it muddies the sound a-bit at high volumes. These are not high fidelity over ear headphones if that’s what you are looking for. These are unobtrusive off ear speakers to enhance you quest experience and they do exactly that. If you want to enhance you audio without compromising weight and comfort these are the speakers for you.

Decent audio upgrade for Meta Quest 2
|
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
As the title suggests, this is a decent audio upgrade for the Meta Quest 2. Out of the box, the Meta Quest 2 has only so-so audio and this is definitely an upgrade. Not world class sound but much, much better.
It also seems sturdy and therefore seems likely to last for a long time as long as the internal components do as well. The USB-C connection is a bit tight though and seems like you could snap off the USB-C attachment if you're a little too rough. It does have passthrough power which is great too.
It doesn't do the best job of any noise cancelation but will work just fine in a quiet area, which you were likely playing your Quest in to begin with. It's overall a really good idea but the next iteration should have better sound for a truly premium audio experience and some noise cancelation functionality. It is a significant improvement from the built in audio in the Quest itself but does leave a lot to be desired. Overall, I'd recommend this item as an upgrade to the Quest but if you're not overly disappointed with the built in sound, wait for the next iteration.
