    Great Magic Keyboard Alternative!

I have an older iPad from 2018, but the trackpad feature and keyboard combo make this iPad Pro a multitasking powerhouse! My only advice would be be careful carrying it. The magnetic attachment on the keyboard is a little less "grab" than the Apple keyboard for the older iPad Pros. It will fall off! Also, instead of buying a smaller Surface Go, this is even better since I retain the Pro model and still have the laptop experience when necessary.

So the wife wanted a case for her new iPad I just bought. Yes this one is pricy but the case is very versatile. You can set it up with keyboard and prop it up, or drop the keyboard off and use it like a tablet. It has a place for the Apple Pencil (she uses that for everything instead of her finger). The keyboard is powered off the smart connector on the iPad so no charging or replacing batteries.

We bought this keyboard case to go with our iPad Air tablet. I like the protection it gives the iPad and the ease of the key board. Also I like how the keyboard can be taken off and on with no problem. It adds a little weight but for the protection it gives is well worth it. I like the cloth type covering it's not slick in my hand and is easier to hold.

Decent budget option if you want a trackpad

I bought this to add trackpad support on my 2019 iPad Pro 10.5”. The cost is much more in-line with what we should assume for a tablet keyboard case when compared to Apple’s new Magic Keyboard offerings. The keys and key travel are perfectly usable. It connects with the smart connector, so there’s no power / charging / Bluetooth. However, there are a few things that left me wanting more. 1) The back plate is heavy. Yes the keyboard is attached magnetically and is easily removed, but the 1 lb iPad is way too heavy with the back protector. 2) Speaking of the magnetically attached keyboard - it detaches almost too easily. Be prepared to move this around with two hands, or close the keyboard first. 3) The trackpad is hinged at the top, so you can’t click everywhere. 4) It’s thick and bulky. 5) Sometimes the keyboard is not detected when unlocking the iPad. You must detach and reattach the keyboard to have it recognized. 6) Some keys (mostly punctuation) did nothing until I changed my keyboard from automatic to US in the iPad settings. It’s easy to find the negatives. If budget is a concern, you’ll probably be very happy with this. I unfortunately wanted more as I intend to make this a laptop replacement now that my MacBook Pro is 8 years old. I ended up getting a new 2020 iPad Pro 12.9” with the Magic Keyboard and couldn’t be happier. Apple’s R&D tends to pay off and makes me pay out.

This is a good keyboard. The track board does need an actual click to select things rather than a tap. Overall I really like the product, however it is a bit heavy. This has added quite a bit of weight to my iPad. I don’t mind this as it also adds protection. I would recommend this product if you don’t mind a little extra weight.

The keyboard case is pretty thick and adds a good bit of weight but offers great protection for drops and scratches. The materials it’s made from feel great as well. The keyboard is very comfortable to type on and the track pad is awesome.

I really like this setup, maybe even better than the one I had with the Apple keyboard. It does however add a fair amount of size to the iPad itself. Backlit keyboard, detachable that still allows the iPad to stand on its own is also pretty great as the keyboard isn’t always necessary.

I love than the touch pad is fully functional. It is a bit heavy but portable. A little glitchy with a couple of commands like shift / or having to remove keyboard and stick back on to register. Minor stuff but wow the touch pad is Apple capable meaning the finger motions work.

    Best iPad Keyboard Case!!!

I originally bought the iPad 7th gen version but returned both when the iPad Air went on sale and I needed more storage so I got the iPad Air version still the best keyboard case ever. I’ve had other ones from Logitech and they were ok but same 5-6 keys would stop working even after exchanging them several times. This keyboard case is solid works like supposed to and can adjust time for when backlit keys go off after not using to save iPad battery. So it has backlit keys and a trackpad now that the iPads have a cursor for a mouse or trackpad. Don’t know why Apple’s “Magic Keyboard Case” doesn’t include a trackpad and this is also cheaper then the Apple version. I highly recommend this keyboard case for any iPad you have that they make this for.

The look and packaging is great. It seems sturdy and works. I was really surprised at how heavy it is. It works well and I like to use it. The iPad slipped nicely into the case and seems secure and I think the case will protect it well. I feel comfortable putting it in a backpack or traveling with the case and keyboard installed. The keyboard snaps into position easily and is secure enough. The trackpad is great although clicking with it is takes a bit of learning about where you can and can't click. The kickstand allows any tilt and works great for FaceTime and Zoom in landscape mode. The case doesn't work so well if you want to use it in portrait mode. The first few days it really shocked me every time I picked up the case/iPad (no keyboard) every time. Now I am starting to get used to it. I'm hoping the kickstand doesn't get loose with time. It seems sturdy.

I’ve been impressed by the Combo Touch. The quality of the case and keyboard are really nice. The multi-position stand for the iPad works great and gives lots of flexibility and you can store a stylus. It’s simple to detach the keyboard when you don’t want it, and just snap it back on when you do. And it’s nice that the keyboard charges off the iPad so you never have to plug it in. I find the keyboard large enough to type on. The backlit feature comes in handy in darker lighting, and the touchpad makes it more efficient to use the iPad as a laptop for emails, documents etc. I did have to update to the latest iOS to get the keyboard to work. Overall very satisfied.

This is light weight, but durable. I love the pen holder, and the fact the iPad portion still easily detaches so you dont have to carry the key board. The track pad works perfectly.

I am pleasantly surprised how well this combination keyboard and mousepad eliminated nearly all of the complaints I have traditionally had about the iPad interface. For many websites and applications, a mouse is integral to ordinary use. Plus, I have never gotten accustomed to the virtual QWERTY keyboard, mostly due to the size and lack of tactile feedback while typing. This product addressed both of the needs I had. It is not 100% integrated like a laptop, and that will take some time getting accustomed to those gaps: the one that pops in my head now is that you need to tap on fill-in boxes to start typing. I gave up my secure Otterbox to use this device, and worry about the long term durability.

It's exactly what I needed for my iPad Air. Only complaint is it does add quite a bit of bulk to it overall, but well worth it to always have a keyboard and trackpad that never needs charging!

I purchased this for the 10.5" iPad Pro, and the keyboard case works wonderfully for it. The case does add substantial bulk to the tablet, but it also adds substantial protection as well as an adjustable stand. The keyboard is well built and very responsive, too. My only knock would be the strength of the keyboard connector, but that's more of an Apple design issue than the keyboard itself. It stays put under normal use, and if there is a disruption to the connection, I've only ever had to detach and reattach the keyboard to get things working again.

Pros: kickstand is awesome, pen holder is well placed, keyboard works well, shortcut buttons are very handy, trackpad is good, and normal shortcuts (such as Ctrl + Tab) work. Cons: ridiculously heavy case, keyboard disconnects slightly too easily, keys are smooth (no texture). I really don’t get why they made the case so thick and heavy. Really defeats the purpose of buying an “Air”. But it works amazingly and comes very close to feeling like a real laptop. Torn on if I’ll keep it or go back to the Apple Keyboard which is far lighter, but not as functional.

Glad we can get iPad pro features on cheaper iPads! The trackpad works surprisingly well. Sometimes it fails to recognize the keyboard when you open the case but if it does this just re-connect it. Sometimes it’ll also stop recognizing the trackpad and requires a reboot, but perhaps a software or firmware update will fix that soon. Makes the iPad a great portable companion to a stationary desktop PC. Would recommend this to anyone. Little pricey for an iPad case but it’s half the price of what Apple offers.

    Game Changer

I’ve always loved using the iPad and have been vocal about its design being perfectly adequate as a touch only interface. I never thought Apple would add cursor support, and if they had just brought over the standard arrow cursor from the Mac with no changes I still think that would’ve been wrong. But they rethought the cursor for iPad, and with that, a case with a trackpad is an absolute game changer. This case is just as good as Apple’s magic keyboard they’ve released for the iPad Pro. I highly recommend it.
