Gets the job done

Perfect arm

Great stand, but tough to adjust

I’m sure it probably gets better with time. The way the cable runs down the back is cool too.

Cons: Does not work well with microphones lighter than the blue yeti. Tension screw and friction locks are pointless if you do not have a heavy mic.

Posted .Hi, we're sorry to see you're unsatisfied with the Compass Microphone Stand. While this may be compatible with other microphones on the market, this item is made primarily for the Blue microphone Yeti lineup. This is probably why you're having some issues with the arm reacting the way you want it too. However, Blue makes some great options for every home work space such as the Yeti and the Yeti Nano microphones!

Don’t Waste Time

Also needs an abnormal amount of weight as hinges cannot be manually adjusted(despite what product says). Pass on this

Posted .Hello, thank you for sharing your experience with the Compass Microphone Stand. I'm sorry that you were unable to adjust the Compass and hinges to an angle that suited your needs. There are friction-hinges located on the back that can be hand adjusted to hold the mic in the desired position. Literally fell apart into a pile of broken pieces. Fun fact - Best Buy will NOT accept a return of this item even if it breaks, so buyer beware. They instead had me reach out to the manufacturer to leverage their warranty - as if I'd prefer a replacement piece of garbage to replace the original piece of garbage. Don't bother. The negative reviews were right.

Posted .Hello. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the Compass Boom Arm. I'm sorry to hear that your boom arm broke into pieces. That is unusual. Luckily, the Compass has a 2 year limited hardware warranty. You can get the process started here: https://support.bluedesigns.com/hc/en-us/articles/360034568593-Warranty-Compass
When setting up the boom arm, be careful to not tighten it too much. The arm is meant to counter-balance the weight of a microphone, so if there is nothing attached to it, it will not stay put. Also, make sure the arm is set up with the channel for the wire facing up, otherwise it is upside down and will not stay in place.

The cable management is superb. It may take some patience and multiple arrangements to find what may work with your desired set up. I recommend seeing this in store or watch online reviews before buying/deciding on this particular mic arm.

Good mount, sturdy, nice cable management

Adjustment is easy, and the cable management is slick. One negative - I haven’t found a way to keep it from swiveling too easily at the base. If your desktop mounting surface isn’t perfectly level, it will try to swivel at the base, and I haven’t found an adjustment to compensate for that.

To someone else this may have the simplistic use desired. For now I wish it had more flexibility but I will keep using it because I may get used to it.

Best Boom Stand for Blue Yeti

Others may be less expensive, but this one certainly does the job. Don't forget to get the shock mount! I guess my only caveat is: This is for those who want a "studio quality" sound. If you are happy with a lesser quality, then don't spend the money. But if you want the best -then go for this. M
