Then the tightening parts just snapped off without even having been tight enough to prevent the arm from un-bending itself. This is definitely a defective design and the arm should have some sort of locking mechanism if it's not. I make enough money that I don't care enough to spend the time to return it but still, I'm disappointed that a company such as Logitech has their name on something so flawed. I wouldn't be suprised if Best Buy pulled these from their inventory and returned them soon due to the defect and return volume.

I have not have any issues since I put it on my desk. As long as you have the 6.6ft cord that came with the mic cable management is really convenient. There is some drift at certain angles when the mic isn't heavy enough, but overall the arm is very maneuverable.

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So I actually have two of these now bc I had to go through the company to get a replacement for the one I had bought in store, there was damage on the box and I thought nothing of it but Best Buy wouldn’t exchange it due to the defect where it’s over tightened on the tension screw, I had the tension screw out of the arm and it still raised up to no avail

Posted .Hello Tibbert38, Very sorry to hear about your disappointment with the Compass Microphone Stand. To adjust tension, take the boom arm off the C-clamp mount and adjust the Phillips-head Screw on the bottom of the boom arm. Left to loosen, right to tighten. From there, use the side adjustment knobs for granular adjustments on the fly. Here's a video to show you how exactly to do this: https://youtu.be/v1XXMU2cTNQ. It was easy to setup and adjust, and provides cabling guides so the to-mic cords don't dangle. It also stays in place well. Seems to be pretty universal for compatibility; I'm using it with a Yeti branded mic.
