Sturdy & Convenient

Definitely great for streaming microphone needs and keeping the mic out of your way when you don't stream. Fit my thick ikea desk perfectly.

Thank you for choosing the Compass Premium Microphone Boom arm. I apologize for any difficulties you have experienced with setting the tension of your Boom arm; I would like to help. I have attached a link to the "Getting Started" guide for your reference. This boom arm features 3 adjustable friction hinges. For additional adjustment, you can fine-tune
the internal spring tension.
Inside the base of Compass, you will find the spring tension screw. Rotate the screw clockwise to increase the tension of the internal springs—which may be necessary for heavier microphones—or counter-clockwise to loosen—which may be necessary for lightweight microphones. For further support, and a visual reference, please visit the support page referenced below. I hope these suggestions are helpful and that you enjoy your Compass Boom arm.

love the look, but not the function

I have the pdf for this stand and it shows how to adjust the tension. even the one at the base. it was way too stiff and could not hold. bummed as I'll have to go without, or another stand. : (

This is worse than then cheapo $15 one you can buy on Amazon. There's so much tensile strength you'll break tightener to stop it from moving. Horrible design, horrible material choices from a growing horrible company

Make sure you have a microphone on the heavier side or this won’t be a good choice for you, but otherwise I recommend it! If you get a pop filter you can clip it on the thin part right on the top by the way.
