This is worse than then cheapo $15 one you can buy on Amazon. There's so much tensile strength you'll break tightener to stop it from moving. Horrible design, horrible material choices from a growing horrible company

Posted .Hello. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the Compass Boom Arm. I'm sorry to hear that you are unable to get the arm to stay in place. The Compass is designed to act as a counter-weight to a microphone, so in order to properly adjust and set the arm, the mic would have to be attached and then the tension knobs and screws can be tightened/loosened depending on how heavy of a microphone you are using. Once set up properly, you should be able to move the mic up/down/right/left with one hand very easily and smoothly without having to loosen or tighten any springs or locks. It sounds like you are looking for a spring-based boom arm (which the Compass is not).

Is not compatible with Hyper X mic as advertised

All 3 of our computers we built so we’re not new at this and the tightening piece is plastic (dumb) after slowly tightening as instructed plastic broke. Reordered thinking faulty and boom same arm broke same spot don’t get for hyper c not comparable as advertised.

If u place any mic, it’ll unjust go straight. I have bo idea what kind of super springs these guys are using but its not worth it and thhe knobs that turn dont help. Theres an option by samson thats much better than this.
