Logitech - G635 Wired 7.1 Surround Sound Gaming Headset for PC with LIGHTSYNC RGB Lighting Comfortable and uncanny surround sound This headset is super comfortable. No sweaty vinyl ear muffs. These have a breathable cloth covering. The speakers pivot left/right as well as up/down so they can find the perfect spot and the band is nicely padded as well. The weight is evenly distributed and the clamping pressure is just right. There is no heaviness pressing down or pressure around the ears. You can comfortably wear these for hours and not sweat either. The ear pads can easily come off and go back on. Perhaps for cleaning or replacement? The headphones come with two cables. The first a 1.5-meter-long vinyl jacketed 3.5mm Mini-DIN suitable for game consoles, phones, anything with a 3.5mm plug. The other is a USB cable with a cloth braided jacket that is nearly 3 meters long. I’m not sure if the cloth braiding adds any performance or usability advantage, but it does lend a rich look and feel I prefer over the vinyl. There is a slide switch at the top of the left ear to choose between the inputs. You could be using this on your PC to play a game, hit pause and switch to your phone on the 3.5mm connection. The speakers in these headphones are really good. Clear bass very responsive. Most headphones tend to have distortion at high volumes, especially with a sudden bass thump like a canon. These sound awesome. The DTS Surround sound is truly amazing. A leaf rustling or something in the distance and you mind picks out right where it is from the sound location cues. Someone sneaking up on your 6, now heading over toward your right, the placement is space seems so real. If you’ve never played a game with surround sound headphones, you must get these. A mini-IMAX theater in your head. The 6mm mic+ seems to work well. works well. I used the headset on some phone calls and was told the sound quality was as good as the phone. The GHub software downloaded and installed without issue. However, the GHub software seemed to have impacted my Logitech Performance MX mouse settings in a big way. My mouse felt like it is mostly in a tar pit with sudden spurts of speed making it very hard to control. There was no prompt to reboot, but I did a reboot and after that my mouse worked normally once again. A simple fix. The software is easy and recognized my other Logitech components. I am able to customize the EQ, surround sound settings, program the 3 ‘G’ buttons on the left headset from a large selection of different actions or create macros, and change the light colors on the headset, or turn them off. Note that these features only work on a computer using USB. When plugged into a game console or mobile device using the 3.5mm jack, there will no lights or functional hot keys. They will function as headphones without the extra features. The feel and build quality is excellent, what I’ve come to expect from Logitech over the years. Overall an excellent headset to the demanding headset user.

Headphone jack pulled out completely after 3rd use. After 4 1/2 hours spent on hold and being transferred to 9 different people, there was no way they could issue me a mailing label to repair or replace, under the 2 year warranty. The closest store is about 2 hours round trip for us, hence, we ordered online. Will never purchase from them again!!!

DO NOT BUY THESE HEADPHONES. They came out as the replacement for the last headset I had and they are AWFUL. The fake leather is very hot and uncomfortable. The mic muting feature broke in 3 months so I could no longer use the mic. Sound quality was not noticeably improved over the last iteration. Last generation was much better. I will no longer be buying Logitech products.

Okay, let me preface this review with the fact that I already had a great set of gaming headphones and really didn't need these but I was intrigued with the Lightsync feature. I also like that you can switch between USB (PC) input and 3.5mm audio jack input. There is a switch on top of the left earcup to switch between the two. Of course with 3.5mm you don’t get all of the features of these headphones that G Hub gains you with it in USB mode. Out of the box I was very pleased with the way the fit on my head. The earcups are very soft with cloth covers so they should last longer than vinyl coated covers that tend to powder and rot after a few years. They aren't terribly heavy but for my head (which is a little large) they are a bit snug and might cause me trouble for extended gaming sessions. I also like the mike boom that swivels down or tucks nicely into the left earcup. Another “feature” that has me scratching my head is the removable panels on the earcups. They are held on by magnets and I suppose if you want to 3D print your own covers that might be a nice feature but… still scratching my head. The 7.1 surround sound has great range. Using Logitech’s G Hub software adds tweaking capability along with other controls covered later. G Hub allows you to adjust more than just output and mic input levels along with sidetone (mic feedback to the earpieces… aka echo). There are also check boxes for noise removal (note this is not noise cancelling), enabling surround sound (with volume control for each channel), and DTS mode. There is a tab to set your equalizer with 32 to 16KHz slidebars or simple bass and treble adjustments. Like I said, lots of tweaking capabilities! Now the two items that I don’t care for… RGB lighting and programmable buttons. Since the headphones are on my head I can do without the RGB lights. You can’t see them when they are on your head… duhhhhh! Now maybe with some added brightness you can use them to add some ambient lighting if you game in a dark room. I can take it or leave them. Now onto the programmable buttons. Fortunately all of the buttons are on the left earcup and not split between the two earcups. I guess they are great if you use them for on the fly adjustment of sound. There are over a dozen pre-programmed commands to adjust sound. I think I might use buttons to mute audio input and output. I do love the volume wheel on the left earcup. It does take some practice to locate it but it’s pretty intuitive. But you can use them as custom in game commands, macros and even system commands like cut and paste. Honestly blindly reaching for a button on my headphones while working or playing just doesn’t seem practical. In my personal opinion they perform great and are a good value for the just under $140 MSRP.
