Customers are enthusiastic about the G715 Aurora Collection keyboard's quality and comfortable wrist rest. Many appreciate the long battery life, satisfying key feel, and perfect RGB lighting. The wireless feature and excellent design are also well-received, along with the beautiful pre-set Aurora lighting and ease of setup. However, some find the price to be a drawback, and a few miss having a number pad.

Out of the box, the first thing you notice about the G715 is the weight. It weighs over 2 pounds, it has some heft for sure. The build quality is amazing, solid metal and durable plastics throughout. It has a very nice soft touch feel on the sides and back and the faceplate is secured on by magnets and is easily removeable if you want to swap colors with their Aurora collection faceplates. I love the white color, that the Aurora collection is going with for all the products, it’s such a nice departure from the Black aesthetic and I think makes the RGB stand out even more. It also includes a nice, soft wrist pillow in the shape of a cloud. Super plush and comfortable. You’ll want to use the wrist pad, as the design of the keyboard makes it very tall at an sharp angle for your wrists if you’re not using one. So whether it’s the included pillow or one of your own, a wrist pad is a must for this keyboard in my opinion. The keyboard is wireless and claims 25-30 hours of wireless use, but your mileage will vary of course, based on degree of usage, lighting effects, etc. You can also plug the keyboard in using the included USB cable and use it wired, while also charging up the battery. When using it wirelessly, you can opt for Bluetooth or Logitech’s LIGHTSPEED spec, using the included dongle, which stores nicely in the bottom side of the keyboard. LIGHTSPEED will give you the best low latency option compared to using a cable, and for some reason, mine would not pair to my Asus PC using Bluetooth. Not sure where the issue lies with that, but I wasn’t too concerned since I will only use it with a cable or the LIGHTSPEED connection anyway. I’ll have to keep researching why Bluetooth would not work. The size is perfect for gaming with it’s tenkeyless design but it does still offer full size keys with full standard key spacing. You get a dedicated power switch on the top so you can save battery when its not in use. You have media controls and a volume rocker on the right side, along with Bluetooth, gaming and RGB brightness buttons on the left. The gaming button is really neat because when pressed, it disables certain keys so you don’t impact your game by accidental key presses. It has dual adjustable feet that allow you to pick between two heights, not included just laying flat, so three height options total. You also get a caps lock indicator and battery status light right in the middle, which is great to have for both of those things. When using for the first time, definitely install the Logitech G-Hub software, this is where you can customize just about everything for your Logitech products. Now mine had a firmware update when I connected for the first time, but for some reason it wouldn’t install. I used it for a couple days before finally the G-Hub would install the firmware on the keyboard. But G-Hub allows for truly customizable details of your keyboard. Most notably is the RGB. The G715 comes with pre loaded lighting effects saved to its on board memory, but G-Hub allows you to dial in the customization to your hearts content. You can also map Function buttons, set performance details and much more. For me where the keyboard shines is the keys and key caps. I love tactile switches, they offer the perfect balance of satisfying clickyness and response while not being either too loud or too quiet. The key caps offer an amazing feel to the touch. They keys have a definition and feel to them that I’ve not had on other keyboards. The pressure to engage the keys, the travel of the switch and key cap, its all perfect to me. It feels so accurate to use. I would love a version of this with a ten key so I could use it for work as well, I just can’t get enough of this keyboard.

The Logitech G715 compact keyboard is an excellent keyboard with practical features, good design and size, great typing feel, good lighting options, a solid palmrest, and great connectivity options. The design of this keyboard is excellent. It’s very sturdy. I would feel comfortable typing on it on a hard surface or on my lap. The compact size is great. As someone who rarely utilizes the numberpad and would prefer portability, this is a great option. I thought that the all white design was unique and striking. I thought the palm rest was solid. It was very comfortable, but I feel like the design is catered towards portability and I would have appreciated something more with a little more weight in the design. The lighting options on this keyboard were great. Not only were there built in presets, you could also customize the lighting via the G Hub (Logitech’s software). Typing on this keyboard feels really nice. It has very satisfying action. I did not find the keyboard to be too loud which is great for productivity use. Gaming on this keyboard is super comfortable, too. I play a variety of games, including MOBAs like DOTA 2, Battle Royale games like Apex Legends and Fortnite, and other random games like Multiversus and Deep Rock Galactic. The battery life on the keyboard is amazing. It lasts 25 hours and that includes RGB lighting use. I thought the connectivity performed well and came with a number of features. I appreciated that the keyboard came with both USB and bluetooth. Using USB I really did not notice any perceivable lag which is great for gaming. While I do not have a lightspeed wireless mouse, I thought that the ability to pair both the keyboard and mouse to the same usb receiver to save a USB port was a really cool feature too. Overall, I thought this was a great compact keyboard that is great for both productivity and gaming applications.

I previously had a cheaper logitech keyboard that I had used for years and LOVED. I got this one because I liked the look and wanted something smaller. After a couple months my keyboard is completely unusable. Any time I try to type the keys get stuck and won't stop typing the letter I just hit. My keyboard has deleted whole papers I've written just trying to backspace something. Super disappointed and a waste of money.

Wireless Keyboard with Ample Customization and RGB

I’m excited about the G715 line of keyboards. It borrows from the popular G915 TKL design language and improves on that design by adding customizable keys colors and a cover plate that you can mold around your setup color scheme. Customization is the goal. With swappable top plate and key caps, you can extensively customize the look of your keyboard. The white base is a nice break from the typical black you see on most modern gaming keyboard, but my favorite part of the design language is the RGB lighting on the bottom side of the keyboard as well a sleuth of preset lighting effects. You can buy a set of pastel green or pink keys as well as different colored top plates. I’m looking forward to seeing additional colors added so I can do a blue/white color scheme for basketball season because why not. Using the Logitech GHub software, you’re able to customize the RGB key colors, the RGB light strip on the bottom, as well as creating and assigning macros to the function keys. There’s a difference between what’s available depending on your connection type as far as RGB presets. I’m assuming it’s because of the processing that some of the effects require, but you’re limited to what you can select when using the Bluetooth connection as opposed to connecting the dongle. I like the tactile feel of the key switches. I believe Logitech is calling these GX Brown Tactile switches. If you like them to be a bit clicky while still feeling a bit of resistance on the down press, these are probably the ones for you. I do think these feel a bit different than the tactile switches that were on the G915, so your milage may vary. I’m not a mechanical keyboard enthusiast by any means so absorb what you will with those opinions. All in all, I think it’s a good typing experience and gaming on it isn’t bad either. I like knowing that I have the endurance of a mechanical keyboard for years to come. Build quality is pretty good. It is made of hard plastic and has some heft to it so it doesn’t slide around. There’s kick stands that are on the bottom and a slot to store the adapter. I’m a big fan of any device that requires a dongle, has a place to store said dongle built into the design. This also uses a USB Type C charge port. I’m avoiding any device that doesn’t have one so this is a nice addition some of the newer product lines coming out. The cloud shaped wrist rest is also neat. I do prefer something a tad bit taller because of how I’m positioned but that might be just me. I do worry a bit about the top cover plate that you can swap out being a bit thin. If this gets knocked off during transport in your backpack or is left out to the elements, I imagine it wouldn’t be hard to break.

Great gaming keyboard with a different look

The Logitech G715 is a great gaming keyboard that targets a different aesthetic than is often seen with devices targeted at gamers. Instead of the typical black and metallic, this is white keyboard with a white keyboard cover that can be removed. And in an interesting change, the keyboard wrist rest is a somewhat irregularly shaped pad shaped to look like fluffy clouds. For those who want to go all in on this aesthetic, Logitech has a variety of other peripherals that match in this line. The keyboard is itself of a compact design and thus does not have a number pad, so that's something to consider if you are dual-purposing this keyboard for productivity as well. You can connect wirelessly or connect via wire, which is also the method for charging the internal battery. The keys feel great, not too clicky or soft, with good travel. Apart from the lack of number pad, it serves well typing or gaming. The roller on the upper right for volume is also very nice, and the whole keyboard, as is typical of Logitech peripherals, just feels sturdy and high-quality. Logitech provides a plethora of customization options via their G-Hub software, from colors to key mappings, so it's easy to make the keyboard be exactly what you need it to be. While this look isn't exactly my typical one, I applaud Logitech for their creativity in this device in going for a different appearance than the stereotypical "gamer" device. The cloud wrist rest adds an element of whimsy, all while getting the solid and dependable peripheral performance Logitech has long been known for. If you are looking for an excellent, full-featured gaming keyboard but want a different look to it, this is well worth your consideration.
