I read all of the reviews. Good and bad. I am really happy with the system. It works perfectly as oong as you are patient and program it. You have to assign all of your buttons for each device. Be patient and it works. My wife is super happy because one remote does it all and no more 3X5 cards for cheat sheets.

Switching from TV to DVD to streaming and even to VHS is handled within one organized remote or Android/iPhone app or Alexa or Google Home couldn't be easier. I have an older IR Harmony already setup on the Logitech web site. It just copied those devices to the new hub and good to go. Using Google Home in another part of the house to get my movie ready to go still freaks me out a little but in a good way. It takes a little experimentation to get going the first time, but you're off and running after that. Other joy is not having to worry about if the equipment uses IR, RF, WiFi or Bluetooth technology. The Harmony Companion/Hub handles them all

    Best Controller Ever

I've previously owned 3 cheaper harmony products (200,700,..). All were excellent for what they did, ranging from 30 to 70 dollars. But the hub is so much better. I upgraded to enable control of my TV/Audio from Alexa and the Amazon Dot. But the sleek controller that came with the hub works so well, I love using it. The key: it uses radio frequency to talk to the hub. While the hub talks to the components. And uses IR extensions to reach any IR device. I NEVER have to move the annoying clutter on the coffee table anymore to get line of sight. This thing works through the cabinet doors! From the next room. Love it. Another room away...I just ask Alexa. :)

    Best Universal Remote. Easy Layout

I have used a number of universal remotes in the past and they all seem to complicated. This remote give you all the buttons you use on a normal basis and does not clutter up the remote with buttons you may only need to use once in a blue moon. Super easy for everyone in my family to use and supports every device I had. I would like to see more work being done on configuring the remote. Wizards seem to work very well but I would like to have an advanced user mode to allow more granular tweaking. Only Con i have had so far was with my apple tv 4, its designed to use its touch remote it comes with so using the arrow keeps on the Logitech is much slower.

Turns your smart phone into a tv remote.

This item turns your smart phone into a tv remote. Initial setup is easy but programming it or adding devices that may not be on your Wi-Fi network is not necessarily user friendly. I have had other Logitech standalone remotes that were easier to set up than this. They had screens where you could program your 50 favorite channels and pressing the station logo on the screen would take you there. I don’t always wish to use my smart phone as a tv remote but the remote that comes with this set requires you to press numeral buttons to select a channel. I have a potential 1500 channels from which I can choose. So I am going to remember the programs and the times they are shown on each of the 1500 channels. Yep! You betcha! Everything works fine but as no instruction manual was included I am still learning to program the set so that it can work in a way that makes sense to me. That is what the Internet is for, I guess. I ordered this over the Internet from Best Buy on September 3 this year. They apparently started the mailing process that day or the next. I received it on September 23. I don’t know if the Postal Service’s horses went lame, or what, but 20 days is a long time these days to deliver anything in the U.S. from point A to point B. Best Buy might consider using UPS or FedEx as their delivery service in the future. If you’re going to compete with Amazon you’ve got to do better than 20 days delivery time.

I have been using Harmony remotes for many years and needed a replacement for a 650 model. This remote and hub system was relatively easy to setup and has worked flawlessly. I have a simple 5 component home theater system. Setup required me to sync the hub to my home WiFi. This took a couple of tries before my router and the hub communicated. After that, I could copy my existing 650 remote programming to the hub. Super easy. I hid the radio frequency hub in my cabinet and fed the blaster to an area that my TV could see to control it. My only negative is that the remote has no backlight. If this was added you'd have a near perfect product.

We bought this because of the confusion that comes with having a bunch of different remote controls, and found it extremely challenging to set up and get going at the beginning. But once we had it set up, it actually works pretty good if you program it right. It's just a little bit of a challenge to get to that point. Using your cell phone app is pretty seamless, it's a little bit more difficult to remember which buttons do what on the actual remote control. Although the remote control is very comfortable in your hand, you almost need a cheat sheet to remember which function does what.

Was seeking a value controller to turn on my equipment accurately and simultaneously behind a built in cabinet that utilized radio frequency vs infrared to make it work. This controller did the job magnificently. What's more when I had trouble programming the controller I called the manufacturers help line and they directed me perfectly to set it all up nicely. The controller itself is easy to use and fits nicely in the hand to manage all my cable to video to music needs Couldn't of asked for a better outcone on a small budget.

I bought his remote because half of my AV components are in a closed cabinet so in order to make them work I had to leave the cabinet door open to make them function. Wife always went nuts when I left it open. No more, now everything works behind the cabinet doors and wife is super happy it's closed all the time. Programming is super easy and setting up the different functions was dead simple. IR blaster works like a charm and I can even control everything from my iPad. A bonus is I have only one remote that works everything instead of six on the table. Highly recommended if you have a lot of IR components that are blocked by cabinet doors and such.

I have a receiver, G Box, Apple TV, DVD Player, VCR, and a television. Setup was very strait forward and the controls work very well on the included remote. I love how the controls on your device match exactly what you need to control the comments you are using. It turns on only the components you need and switches the components automatically on the receiver. Definitely worth the money. Love that I no longer have to point the remote at the components.

Works so well. No screen needed always had issues with the other modles. This one has the main sensor box and a extended eye. Works great. Never had a issue. Set up is simple I own 2 and got one for someone as a gift. All work fine and I never have issues. All items always turn on in under 5 seconds.

This is a great remote for use with multiple devices. The remote that comes with the harmony smart control is great for family members that want an easy remote and then the application for the phone or tablet works well for those that want more control with all the bells and whistles. It was a little challenging to get some of the pieces calibrated, but I am very happy with this purchase.

Even though it is pricey; it is nice having my "droid" as a back of remote; especially when I have to charge the Ultimate One. I live in a rural area so my phone signal is sometimes weak, which seems to cause the app to freeze up. However; it is seldom and I have adjusted. Living in the country has its hardships.

I purchased this specifically to integrate with an Amazon Echo in my living room. The intention was simplifying the methodology for activating the various components so that my wife would not need to call tech support to watch Netflix- and in that the control excels! By building "recipes" for turning on the various equipment 1 at a time, switching inputs/channels/ and activating services the system can very effectively take a lot of the hassle out of what can be a bit of a complicated process. I was a bit concerned that the Harmony Hub would have enough line-of sight to my various components, but it has worked perfectly without resorting to the included cabled IR blaster. That said, the Echo/Alexa integration is not quite up to par with the overall quality of the remote's operation. I have found that it can take a couple of times to get the results I want out of the voice commands and have even had to reach for the physical remote a few times (and that has worked flawlessly). The other thing to be aware of is that to get the best functionality out of the system you really MUST be comfortable tinkering with the settings both on your AV/home theater equipment and on the Harmony to get everything to activate in sequence, switch, etc...One of the most useful settings when configuring these actions is the delay function, which is invaluable when you have to wait for the TV to actually start up before switching channels/inputs and so forth. If you are comfortable navigating menus and configuring the various items and you have an hour or two to sit and do it this is the perfect addition to your system.

Overall this is a very solid universal remote. I have it connected to a 4th gen Apple TV, Xbox one, Denon AVR, and a Samsung tv. Getting everything recognized wasn't too big of a hassle. However, due to one of the most unintuitive iOS apps, getting sequences mapped out is extremely convoluted. Once set up, it does wonders. Allowing my fiancée to turn everything on and go straight to Netflix with a single button push has been a god send.

I know it's not the smart home control but the harmony hub it comes with is the same as the smart home control's hub-- the remote on this lacks the lights button but if you are a little savvy, you can convert any of the activities buttons to turn you light on, for example. The mobile app should make everything flexible for you-- the big plus here is the hub. You can control your devices without the line-of-sight. Got this on sale for $69--- just the hub itself makes this great! I recommended it to two friends and they already purchased!
