Works great, once it is set up correctly

I have owned several Logitech remote controls to manage my TV/Sound setup. The great thing is that I only need to have one remote control out on the table... Obviously, the number of buttons on the remote is limited so you can't have all the functions of the original remotes - but that is hardly never limiting. The biggest downside in my opinion is the flimsy set up with Logitech's software. It's slow, and only more or less reliable. But once it's set up correctly, it's just great.

    Best Universal Remote I've used

After spending some time with my first harmony smart control, I turned around and bought another. This is way better than the gimmicky screen based remotes that logitech has been putting out in the past. The basic remote is simple, lightweight, and feels good in the hand. The only down side is it's not backlit. However, i expect the battery to last forever. I used the simple remote exclusively for about a week but after getting used to the gestures in the iOS app I've all been using that. I always have my phone on me, my kids like to hide the remotes so it's good that the app is pretty solid. The only thing I don't like about the system is that devices can get out of sync. What I mean by that is it thinks something is on but it's off or vice versa. It's easy enough to fix but I wish you could manually set the power states in the app. My kids like to also turn off devices via the buttons on the tv/receiver/etc. Currently I have one of these attached to the back of my tv beaming straight across to my Apple TV and media player and using a 3rd party (smaller) external ir blaster to control my sound bar. It's working quite well and allows everything to stay out of site. Up in my media room I have one in the cabinet facing my devices with the ir blaster facing my projector at the back of the room. Both of these setups work fairly well unless of course somebody goes and manually turns off something or uses a remote other than the harmony to cycle power. Before this I had a few different universal remotes, including previous harmony models and most of them required too many button pushes to navigate menus or the activities didn't work correctly because for whatever reason the remote didn't hit them all at the same time. This alleviates that problem by having a stationary IR hub and a wireless remote that is extremely easy to use.

Bought this after my Harmony 890 started fading away, and it has worked great and mostly better as a replacement. My A/V equipment is in the back of my home theater, and I haven't had any trouble with this sending commands to my equipment. One bonus over the 890 is that the additional included IR blasters were strong enough to control my TV from the back of the room as well. Setup was fairly simple for those upgrading from an older Harmony, and I never had to connect it to my PC. It brought in all my devices and activities, and the only things I had to fix were a few power-up delay timers that the software did a good job of automatically fixing via the activity setup and verification. Otherwise, I enjoy being able to make changes to the buttons on the remote and activities in general without having to go back and forth between my PC and my home theater. Highly recommend this version if the device/activity restrictions work for you. Can't think of why you'd want to get the ultimate unless you don't have a smartphone/tablet (although we mostly use the included remote), or you have more devices/activities than this will support.

Easy set-up, fun to use, and gets rid of the clutter of all those separate remote controls. My wife was getting frustrated with our TV, Dish, Blu-Ray, and receiver remotes, and having to use multiple remotes for everything she wanted to do. I thought this system would work, so we picked one up. I was intimidated to start setting it up, as I thought it would be a pretty involved process, but when I actually got around to doing it, I found it very easy and straightforward. The only difficulty is when I tried to set up certain functions that required adding delays. Finding the right delay length was time consuming, but not really difficult. Just takes a little experimentation.

Bought to help run TV, cable box and DVD player. Like the option to download app to phone, and we all actually use the app instead of the remote more to run smart TV and DVD player. Easy set up. New users can just use primary users set up without any problems.

I spent a lot of time researching options for a remote after purchasing a closed cabinet TV stand and for a decent price this seemed to be the best option. Once it was hooked up (very easy with the iPhone app) I was immediately impressed! No lag, no missed keystrokes! I've had it for about 2 months and it hasn't missed a click yet! I also purchased an extra IR blaster to hook up to this direct from Logitech website for only $10. Overall it does everything I needed for a great price. I would def recommend it!

Using this device in conjunction with Smartthings, IFTTT and Amazon Echo. The functions are somewhat limited but it does bring the non-home automation devices into the network. No cons to think of other than limited functions. I would like to be able to tell Alexa to pause the movie. I mean it can be done with a work around but not officially support, yet. Basically you can turn on and off devices then adds your iPhone\iPad as a remote.

So, the remote control that came TV service provider's set top box died after several years of service. I would have simply replaced it, but the version I had was programmable and could control my receiver, TV and DVD player. Unfortunately, it was no longer offered by my provider. I researched universal remotes and the problem was always programming them. Going through several pages of possible remote codes for several different brands of devices was not what I wanted to do. This device controls my receiver, smart TV, DVD player and set top box/DVR. After programming it, it will set the proper inputs for my TV and receiver so changing content sources is very easy. I almost gave the unit 4 stars because it won't turn on my PS4, but I figured that was Sony's fault not Logitech's. Programming is simple through their web interface with the brand and model numbers of your devices once the unit is on your wifi network. You can use the provided remote which uses radio waves instead of IR line of sight or you can use the mobile app for smartphones and tablets if you choose or lose the remote in the sofa cushions. This device is also compatible with Amazon Echo. I haven't fully programmed my Echo for all functions but I can turn on the entire system and tune into some of my favorite channels with the sound of my voice. Overall, I'm very happy with it and the best part is my wife can now operate the home theater without assistance or frustration.

My wife hates these universal remotes, so if she's happy, and she is, it must be a good choice. Easy to use, works great, sized nice and works all our electronics on one devise.

I had a missing remote for my stereo and have a playstation 3. Other remotes didn't have Bluetooth or didn't properly control the stereo. The biggest problem was switching 3-4 components to go from a movie to TV. This allowed it to be done with a single touch. Programming was straightforward. If you know what buttons you need to press it's easy. It's also fully customizable with macros to say go left and down until I reach Netflix on the playstation. The remote is great. The only time I use my old ones is if something gets out of sync, which rarely happens. Also I have no reflective surfaces and the ir blisters never fail.

Replaced a Control4 unit that failed after 3 years. I now have more control over setup and it is very easy to setup. May not be as good as Control4, but it works well for me.

It does what it claims, works great. I have 4 very different setups and it handles nicely. Lots of options like having the lights dim when you hit the tv button... pretty cool. I give it 4 stars just because it is not back lite. In the dark it's impossible to see.

So I had to deduct a star as I needed to have my original unit replaced. The set up process is fairly straightforward, IF you are not using a/v matrices (e.g. 4x4 HDMI matrix). In order to get this to work, I had to set up 4 devices in the configuration to allow me to successfully use this remote. Given the software limited 8 device maximum, if you find yourself using a matrix, think twice about whether this will work for you.

This is absolutely the best Wireless Remote I have ever had. The included remote control has just enough functionality to work perfect and It fits into your hand great. Solid feel and operates flawlessly. The IPhone or Android app is just a plus. Programmed easily and without problems. Found all of my home theater components which is a feat in and above itself. Highly recommend to anyone in need of a fantastic programmable remote!!

I wanted a universal remote that would allow me to control my home theater system and satellite box while keeping the solid cabinet doors that those components are in closed. It works great for that purpose with the included remote or with an app for your phone. Setup is pretty easy. Buttons are a little small on the remote. Hub occasionally loses the wifi connection - pretty easy fix though.

This product does everything they i wanted it to do. If you have your system setup properly and don't have to do a bunch of crazy setting changes between switching activities. Push one button and everything turns on and controls what it needs to control. I removed 2 stars from ease of setup due to the following: They are supposed to offer computerless setup via bluetooth and your phone. The iphone would never connect. this was not an issue for me as i prefer to type on my pc. The model number input would have been easier being right next to the TV but a notepad worked for me. The second star was removed because i bought a second one of these for another room and tried to add it to my "myharmony.com" account and apparently there is a glitch in adding two remotes. I had to set up a seperate account to get it to work. Those are really my only two issues that i have with the remote. I also have experience with the ulimate but i don't think it is worth the price difference . I don't need to get into the device settings very often and when i do I would save the $200 by pulling the original remote out of the drawer to complete those advanced controls. Overall best remote i've ever owned and highly recommend.

I switched to the new Xfinity X-1 box. I discovered that my current universal remote wouldn't work and the Xfinity remote wouldn't operate my other devices. After a lot of research and mostly luck I found and reluctantly bought the Harmony Smart Control. It took a little while to figure out how to set it up, but it works great and easy to use! One downside is that the keys for the numbers are small. Most of the functions worked the first time. I'm still experimenting with how to get some of the other functions to work. Still trying to understand and use the benefits of the mobile app. Overall I'm very pleased.
