I love this remote because I can use the remote or my smartphone to control my audio visual equipment. I can't stand going to someone's home and finding them using 2-3 remotes to control their devices. I like the fact that it has RF, so I don't have to worry about pointing the control at my equipment when using the remote. I also love the fact that it will control my apple TV, PlayStation, etc. I have not purchased any of the home compatible products to control yet, but this will just be icing on the cake. All in all, this is a great product and do not hesitate to purchase.

Great remote but bit of a learning curve

I traded in my Harmony One which I had purchased about 4 years ago and there was nothing wrong with it and I loved it from day one but since Best Buy and Logitech were running a promotional which provided a 100.00 towards the Ultimate Home if you traded in your old remote to recycle I decided to purchase the Ultimate Home. My initial feeling for this remote when I first set it up was that I was not sure if I was going to like it as well as the learning curve seem to be a bit higher vs. my older Harmony One. After getting it programmed though and getting use to all the new added features I can now say this is the best remote ever and I highly recommend it to replace any and all of your remotes. This remote actually features more options than I think I will ever need or use but still if I ever do its got me covered. I like the new web based software used to program the remote and even more so I like the new sync feature which allows me now to update or make changes in programing the remote without physically plugging in the remote via usb to the computer. My one and only negative is the smartphone app which allows your smartphone to also control all your devices; I had just recently purchased a Samsung Note 4 and the app program works horribly and that may just be me. Otherwise I would have given this remote a 5 star rating.

I really love this remote. It has a lot of versatility and when it adds a component it picks up most of the commands needed. In fact too many, as I needed to remove some, but that is part of the customization.
It does take a bit of work to initially set up, but once it's done it's great to use. I was especially concerned with my wife using as she doesn't like change when it comes to technology, but even she admitted it's really easy to use.
I would have give it 5 stars except for the difficulty setting up the hub. I have 2 wireless networks in my house (guest and mine) and it's supposed to just connect, but not sure it really did. I never saw it listed in my connected wifi devices on my router settings. I'm a highly skilled IT professional and this caused me some headaches. The solution was to setup with a computer and the software with the hub connected via USB. That really should be what they say in the directions to do.
The other issue is that you can setup certain functions when using the computer software that you can't using the mobile app and vice versa. Also, you may need to edit things directly on the remote as well. I'd rather be able to do everything from either the mobile app or software.
Overall though I am very happy with the remote.
It's also great that the remote doesn't have to be line-of-sight for IR devices.
I'm also hoping that some future update will allow you to program the remote to put an Apple TV to sleep. This could also just be an issue with getting into coding Apple does, so not entirely a Logitech issue I'm sure.

I haven't actually found any real "flaws" with this remote, other than the fact that Harmony changed and discontinued the old style remotes I loved. This one really does work pretty well, super easy setup, and works from anywhere I've tried. It does NOT have to be pointed directly at the unit or even in the same direction.

The remote works great and was easy to set up, but compared to my old Harmony One, the battery life is nowhere near as long. It warns you about 5 mins before the remote completely dies. Used to get 1.5 weeks from the old one, now I'm lucky to get 3 days.
Can't complain about anything else though, happy with the purchase.

This remote lives up to the reviews and does at it promises. The main reason I purchased this is so that I could control components through cabinetry without having to open the doors to the cabinets. This remote signal provides control through cabinets, walls, doors, and the best thing is you don't even need to point in the direction of the device. No batteries needed, recharging device. Easy to add devices from the PC setup and sync. I purchased 2 more for the home because it works so great.

I have recently set up two of these and I have to say they worked pretty well. One was set up on a pretty simple system and worked flawlessly. The second was set up for a crazy large system, with whole house audio.
For the large system, there were some small issues. First, it only comes with two blasters and not small ones that stick to the device. I had to purchase several adapters to allow us to use the more standard IR blasters. Good news is that you can split the two outlets on the hub with a few adapters.
Second issue is that the remote doesnt have any physical Number buttons. You have to set it up to use the LCD screen for buttons.
Last issue is the Gesture controls. None of the folks I installed for liked it. Would be nice to disable.
Otherwise, its a good solid Harmony remote and easy to program

I've used several of these remotes to incorporate an easy to use solution for customer equipment operations. Device setup is easy and leads you step by step with onscreen prompts from both the remote and computer in order to complete the process.
Adding activities is a snap and leads to one touch button operations which is ideal when setting up a home theater within any scenario. The online catalog of devices is constantly updated and contains a vast amount of consumer products ir codes. The ability to "learn" and/or remap unique ir codes to either soft or hard coded buttons on the remote if they are not already preprogrammed is an added bonus I've found to be essential in the overall satisfaction of the products comprehensive abilities.
The layout and design of the remote are both comfortable in the hand as well as well laid out for actual operation. Having a rechargeable base station is a great addition to the mix. No more changing batteries every few weeks!
The ability to use RF (radio frequency) as a means of transmission is a great and convenient feature and enables the user to control devices within a closed cabinet or another area of the house.
The added bonus of having an available free Wi-Fi app that can be used in order to make your iPhone and/or iPad an extra remote interface is a great addition to the vast amount of solutions this product already supplies.

I have an intermediate home theater set up and a few connected home items such as Nest and Philips Lighting. I had no less than 6 remotes, all controlling their own device. This remote has been a life saver. Why you ask? Because when my wife or mother-in-law can't work the plethora of remotes on the mantle in order to get a movie on for my kids to watch before they have nuclear meltdowns, it would be my life at risk the moment I walked in the door. This remote has erased all anxiety about working my TV. It was super easy to set up with my iPhone and on the computer, and any trouble shooting I had to do was simple and done from the remote. My only complaint is that the hard keys are not backlit. That would be a nice feature on a $300+ remote.

Excellent remote. Easy setup. I used my smartphone to setup the system, doesn't get any easier. You may have to update firmware with your computer depending on model. I've had the previous model from two years ago which needed the computer but still a breeze. You have the mini blasters that you can put in side by side cabinets. I have 6 device's that are setup with various modes. Its a one touch operation to transition between equipment and modes. The automation is the best. I'm going to install the light system next to use that feature as well.
I had the two year warranty through Best Buy for my previous Harmony One. The remote had one too many mishandlings 20 months into the extended Best Buy warranty and I was able to return the old remote for the newer model since it was no longer available. This is a 5 star remote and the warranty was well worth it. I purchased the 2 year plan for the replacement as well.

I bought it yesterday even after reading some of the negative comments I decided it was still worth it, and if you have and IQ higher than the typical chicken McNugget order then using your computer to set up the remote is fast and easy, I ran into absolutely no problems as far as set up goes and finding divides and all. I did however run into an issue of the base being too far from my soundbar and me not wanting to use the included it blaster but I easily changed the remote to send the signal stealing from the remote to the soundbar instead of they the hub as it does for everything else, it was easy to fix and it now controls my Wii, my bluray player, my cable box, my tv, my soundbar, and my Mac mini that I use to play downloadable content like Disneymovies everywhere.com
It really exceeded my expectations and I'm happy with my purchase, I also got the geek squad coverage for 3 years and I'm an elite member so I have 30 days to return it if something goes wrong but so far is the best remote I've ever own and it does exactly what I want it to do, I'm even going to buy some lights so I can control them with this as well.

We got this remote because we were tired of the Harmony 650 never turning on our sound bar when a command was pressed and we would be walked through the help function every time. This remote works better since it comes with two IR blasters to ensure the signal is getting to each device. This remote connects and communicates with a hub that in turn talkes to your devices. This is the first remote that I own that you doesn’t communicate directly with each device. There may be a little delay when pressing some buttons and the action happening some of the time. The battery last about a week. The remote comes with a cradle to charge the remote which is a huge improvement from the 650 that went through two AA batteries about every month. The interface is good but sometimes my spouse has problems not knowing what to do next to get the desired action. If you connect the hub to your WiFi you can download the smartphone app and use your phone as the remote. We love this feature since we have a 2 1/2 yr old and a 11 month old. The app is great and very fast! Set up was easy and you can transfer any commands from any prior harmony remote. The remote has several options from how long the screen is on to how bright and even the wallpaper(pulse many more). I understand that this remote has been discontinued and that is why I got a heck of a deal on it but I would highly recommend this product if you get the chance to purchase.

Works well but there was a few issues seeing up Apple TV. I worked through them and the remote works great. I wish Logitech had better lasting customer call support vs. only a 90 day window. It is a little on the pricey side unless you get it on sale but it does do everything you ask for in a remote.

I absolutely love the fact that set up is done via your smartphone, and is extremely simplistic! I upgraded from a Harmony 900 to this Ultimate Home model, and couldn’t be happier about the purchase. It controls more things in my home than I could have ever imagined. Technology is great!!

I had the previous version and worked well. This version has a lot of improvements. I like the swipe page to obtain access to the many features. It was just as easy to program as its predecessor. I wasn't so sure about the vertical charging station, but after a month of using it I actually like it better since it takes less space on the end table. So far the kids and most of the time my wife can use it without questions. Overall, it has been a good purchase.

This Harmony remote was not easy to set up. However, after several attempts I was able to get it going and it has been very easy to use. The placement of the control buttons are not intuitive, but the channel up/down and the volume up/down are easy to use.

This remote is expensive, no doubt but it is worth it. I have only begun to use it and for the most part it is very intuitive and was easy to set up. One issue I have it that when I hit a button like fast forward, on occasion it brings up the channel search buttons on the right side of my X1 system from Xfinity, I then have to it exit to get out of that. Can be annoying but not a deal breaker. I like that it allows me to use the cell phone as my remote as well. I would have given it 5 stars if not for that issue with the erroneous message popping up so often.

It's a good remote that will connect multi device the issues that I had were very hard to install soft ware from a non lap top device ie iphone ipad I need to use my lap top to sign in. Once signed in it took me a few hours to set up the right sequence of devices to turn on. I had a package with geek squad so I finaly called them to reset it up and it works great. I am sure that the issues I had would not be an issue for someone who is more tech inclined then I am. As I said earlier it is a great buy ! Pricey but worth not having 6 remotes

The first point is the price. This is very pricy indeed. After swallowing that pill... I have enjoyed the controller immensely. It comes with two extra infrared transmitters. I have the main part on my end table and an extra transmitter mounted underneath where nobody can see it. It works 100% of the time. It doesn't matter if someone or if my dog is in front of it. No interference at all. The controller talks to the main hub and the hub is the transmitter. It also has blutooth and works with my PS4. Great Product.
