    Makes Life Simple

Once the device is programmed, it's pretty simple to use and it's great to have the charger to keep it in one place and ready to use. It also is aesthetically pleasing to hold and look at. Not nearly as dorky as three different remotes that are functional, but well, ugly. One downside is that it isn't always obvious how to get to some functions. More practice will likely cure that.

After calling tech support I was finally able to control all devices (needed to adjust timing for my receiver and placement of the IR blaster). Main concern is the lack of low battery indicator like my previous 2 harmony remotes had. This one doesn't beep or have a visual (red) low battery indicator like the older ones had and just shuts off. That is my only issue with the remote

The remote can be a little hard to set up at first, but once you get going, it can command everything. We have a "media closet" in our home, so all of our entertainment equipment is tucked away (being minimalists) out of site. This obviously makes it tough for remote controls to reach (impossible actually). The Harmony links to all our devices either through wifi or direct IR. The downside is that it can not control TV's through WiFi or Bluetooth (Samsung TVs have blue tooth remotes). So my Harmony Hub is tucked away in the media closet (behind closed doors), I have to have an IR lead hanging out of the closet, to revert back to using the old IR technology with my Samsung smart TV. You can program the remote to sequence many commands, like stitch the TV, sound system, cable, etc on with one touch... Which is great 90% of the time. But, if it mis-fires and something does not switch on, it does not know - it's not intelligent. So... You need to manually switch everything off, tell the remote that you have switched everything off, then start again - if you don't do this, it just toggles things from off to on, and everything is out of sequence (your TV turns on, your cinema system switches off). That is annoying. For what I expected, given I have no wires, and everything hidden inside a closet on the other side of the house, I don't think this is worth $300. It mis-fires, things get out of sequence and it doesn't control everything via wifi or Bluetooth, it's all by IR. Maybe it's not the remotes fault, maybe Samsung (or whoever) don't allow 3rd party devices to command by Bluetooth or Wifi... However for all of today's Smart Technology, it really isn't an advanced solution. If you want the remote to look flashy to your friends with an LCD screen, and you have all of your media "on show", get it. If not, you could buy a cheaper multi-remote to do the same thing, better. It's cool, and I like it. But frustrating when things get out of sequence or it doesn't replace the "pointy" Bluetooth functions of your original device remote. Good - but the technology is not there yet.

I originally had the Logitech's harmony one remote that I loved, & when best buy offered me $100 trade in for the harmony ultimate I couldn't resist. The first remote was getting a little outdated. Was easy to set up, transfered all my devices/activities from my previous remote & works great. I likeThe ergo feel in my hand, it's a little smaller than my previous harmony one. Does take a little to get use to the new button set up on the harmony ultimate since I've been using the harmony one for about 6yrs. Overall I'm very satisfied with this upgrade.

Easy to use once programmed and the ability to control devices without directly pointing at them is really convenient. All the ugly control boxes, audio equipment, etc. can be hidden. The only down side so far is that we still cannot configure our Aquos TV to the remote device. There should be a way but we gave up trying before the holidays.

I was excited to finally upgrade my previous Harmony remote that was about 4 years old. I did my research and bought the Ultimate Home. The device was easy enough to set up for basic functions but that's where the fun ends. This remote only works with the included HUB/blaster that also requires being plugged in( boosting my electric bill) and joining my network! I have found the hub needs a line of sight in direct view of all your components to function. For me this means I had to mount it behind my couch! Out of the box the remote does not output an RF signal. I feel this remote is a giant step backward for Logitech and this is just a failed attempt to hop on the touchscreen/ home automation bandwagon without putting any thought toward what this remote will be used for 99% of the time. My suggestion is that if your buying a new tv just use the included smart remote and don't waste your money. Sorry for the bashing Logitech I was such a huge fan, however every designer that worked on this should be fired (or made to actually use this to watch TV).

I got tired of buying cheap universal remotes that would fail after a year or two, and they would require significant amount of programming due to the limited interfaces. Even then their macro capabilities were extremely limited. There was one point in setting up this remote where the instructions confused me a little bit, as in there was a suggestion I needed to reboot the hub but it really wasn't a suggestion so much as a requirement. :-) Once I got past that hurdle, everything else was a complete and total breeze. The macros for my TV, Playstation 3, Verizon FIOS, and Rotella receiver were all set up and automatically coordinated for me. I couldn't believe how simple everything was just by telling the computer program what I had. Best yet I can control the entire setup from my iPhone or BlackBerry 10 (Android emulator) if I am too lazy to get up and get the remote. The remote is still nice and more polished than the phone apps because it has permanent buttons, so I still tend to go for it over my phones. My only regret is the price on this unit, as it was VERY expensive. However given the amount of effort Logitech put into it I won't ding the score because of the price. If you are looking for one remote to rule them all, then this is your Precious. ;-)

    The Harmony Touch we deserve

I purchased a Harmony Touch in first quarter 2013 and was disappointed to find the accelerometer was not included in the model to activate the screen when the remote was picked up. Additionally, a few months later a bluetooth smartphone hub was released as well as the Harmony Ultimate. I was less than pleased. With The Harmony Ultimate Home, all of the features that were excluded from the original Harmony Touch have been included along with IR blasters. The bundled accessories included with this remote are worth the asking price.

This remote works great when you have the IR repeaters positioned correctly. We have no problems controlling our DVD player, UVerse Receiver, TV, and receiver. It controls our Amazon Fire TV and Apple TV via Bluetooth flawlessly. The Alexa integration also works, but there are some limitations with the Alexa app which will hopefully improve. My biggest complaints are: - The remote lacks physical buttons for numeric keypad - You can accidentally swipe the screen when trying to press it I knew beforehand that there are no numeric key pad buttons, but I wanted to point this out since I prefer to use them. The favorites work great so that I don't have to use the touch keypad for numbers. The second complaint is that the remote registers a side swipe to change the screen when I try to press numbers. It happens less than 10% of the time, but it happens more than it should. Neither of these issues would warrant dropping my rating to 4 stars though. I've used a couple different Harmony remotes over the last 15 years and this one is easily my favorite - even though my two previous ones had physical buttons for the numeric keypad.

The remote seems to be very ergonomic and is very easy to use. The key to it is the extensive setup. Once you get the remote programmed with your quick access buttons your set to go. Im still afraid that the remote will easily get damaged though so try to keep away from little ones or in spots that it will get say on or knocked off a shelf.

I love all the capabilities of this remote. The IR blasters are great, allowing you to control devices that are in a cabinet, which is why I chose this remote. The only complaint I have is you have to be really careful where you touch, because the touch screen is very sensitive and I tend to give commands I don't mean to at times.

Our original tv remote needed replaced, and we decided to get a universal remote to control all systems. Overall really like the remote, it is fairly easy to set up and use. Have a few hiccups with it not returning to the right screen. Also has a mobile app. Only dislike is having to charge the remote in the docking station

I've had Harmony remotes for years. This move to a touchscreen in the middle of the interface has taken some getting used to. Really wish the FFW / REW and Skip ahead / Skip back buttons were discrete and that they were not at the top of the remote. Overall, easy transition from an earlier remote as far as moving over devices.

I previously had a universal remote that cost 3 times the amount of this remote and did much less. The old remote did not have rechargeable batteries or an app to use. This remote has all that plus I can program new devices myself instead of paying an installation guy $150 an hour to add a device. I added by myself a TV, DVD, surround sound system, and Apple TV with no problems. It was all very easy and I can watch any device with on touch of a button. I could not be any happier with a remote.

The bad: I really don't like how the battery drains after a few days. Seems that it drains really fast compared to my older Harmony 1100. The good: Great look and feel and works great. The hard buttons are also configured in a good location.

The Ultimate is as the name states. It really is the ultimate remote. It's easy to configure via the Logitech app on your phone on computer and easy to update when/if you get new devices. It can also control home automation devices like Nest thermostats and WiFi lighting. This is a true companion device for not only your audio/video equipment, but also controlling your smart house.

Yes the back light display is a must, well worth the extra cost for Logitech's Harmony remote control. And purchasing the complete package, Harmony remote control, hub, and two extenders was the best thing. The physical set up was simple. And the online process to pair each device was well thought out.

I traded my older Harmony remote in for the Harmony Ultimate Home during the upgrade program, and am not disappointed. I only manage media devices with this, not home services (like heat, etc.) - but 7 devices and 8 possible functions makes things complex enough that it's great to do it all on a touchscreen with one remote. My rating would be 4 stars but for the help I got with the complexity of setting up commands that are out of the ordinary (e.g., time-delays and additional menu options). The good news is, the Logitech Harmony helpline folks are among the best I have ever encountered. My advice to users (and this isn't clear from any hardcopy or online instructions) is, follow the logical set-up steps that the system walks you through - they are very well thought out - and if you hit a snag programming a more complex command, or have any problem at all, don't agonize over trying to figure it out yourself, just call their helpline. You will have created a Logitech account by that time in the process, and the helpline technician will be able to program your Harmony device remotely using that, rather than trying to explain to you how to do it, which is terrific. They even helped me fix a non-Logitech-related issue with an interface between two of my components! So - 5 stars in spite of a bit of initial frustration, for the device + the support.

I originally had the Harmony 900 remote and replaced it with this remote. I gave it four stars because it uses IR only, not RF also. You can get an IR extender to assist in having the components receive the signal, or go with the Ultimate Home for IR, RF, and wireless internet control (recommended).
