    Excellent except its heavy

I recently replaced this with M315 which was also good. a) This model, newest as of now, has better wheel to navigate the page scroll than M315 which was a disaster if you were to scroll up and down the pages through the wheel. Its wheel is grooved more so than one in M315. Thus, giving a faster scroll on page up and down. However, it is still not fast enough to scroll quickly: If you have to go down 50 pages on your monitor screen, then you might still be better to use your screen scroll for quicker scroll than with this mouse. I am liking it better than M315 because I could use for scrolling at least a number of pages quicker-I could never use M315 for scrolling even few pages up and down. b) Also, the wheel is better quality than the one on M315 which was very cheap quality. When you scroll with this wheel, it almost never misses "the beat" in scrolling. As opposed to M315 that would miss several beats easily when turning the wheel, especially when fast. c) One major negative for me is that it is heavy. I mean considerably heavier than M315, some due to its two AA batteries. Thus, when I move cursor, I can feel the drain on my hand. M315 was much better in that respect. Also, this one is larger in size than M315. I actually liked M315 in that respect-though smaller, it was no big deal-you get used to it. d) On the same note, if you used any photoshop pencil tool using M315, then the movement, due to its light weight, were so free that you could not make sharp and controlled movement that required tiny manupulation. In that sense, this heavier M525 is better for those who would use it for fine photofinishing tool etc. e) Another bad for both mice is that the middle wheel scrolling for pages up and down is never smooth. When you use the wheels to go up and down pages, you will see it is not smooth and the page moves in "jerks." Also note that it says batteries last for 3 years compared to one for M315 that would last for 1 year is due to the fact that this one takes up 2 batteries instead of one in M315. Thus, the battery duration (depending on use anyway) should not even be counted if you want to make a decision between the two. Above were just negative. On positive side, i) both mice worked fast and accurately without any delays or lagging at all. I mean no lagging at all even after sleep. ii) Amazingly enough, this mouse worked from at least 10 feet away with the same sharpness and accuracy as if it were just close. I had hit my room wall, so it might even work from farther distance without any lagging. iii) Even more amazingly, this mouse works even with that long distance no matter what direction the mouse faces and even if it is blocked with my body or some other stuff such as blankets in the room. It has worked on all surfaces from smooth mouse pad to rough fur blanket surface. So, if you dont mind the heaviness and need to use for pages scrolling up and down with the wheel, then this is it. If you dont need scrolling pages up and down with mouse, then I would go for M315 because it was lighter, smaller and did not tire my hands so much; the cursor response I felt was quicker and faster from one side of computer screen to another. Given, that a) this mouse is heavier resulting in more energy to move and thus takes little longer to move cursor from one side of screen to another, and b) that the page scroll is still not that fast, and c) that the page scroll is not smooth but jerky with the wheel I would give it 4 rather than 5.

1st I should say I purchased this mouse on-sale for $20. At that price it's worth it. If I would have paid the normal $40 BB sells it for I would not have been happy with it. It's a low-end mouse in quality although it looks conservative enough to be used on a work PC/laptop. It's extremely lite and the batteries used are 2/3 it's weight. The battery door and outer shell covering is very thin plastic. A drop or two would surely ruin it. The one I got is red but I would guess the other colors would be the same. The physical size is much smaller than I expected. More like a kid's mouse for little hands. I'm holding it between my fingertips as it's too far too small to fit in my hand. I might not have purchased this mouse had I tried it out ahead of time in a store instead of ordering store pickup. Not great for someone with medium to large hands. On the plus side it is a little more portable as a result. The scroll wheel is very loose and barely has any tactile feel to it at all. It can actually be spun a bit. It is so loose that you will find you bump and move it frequently. In programs that use the scroll wheel for screen sizing or zooming, this becomes a source of frustration. They should have given this wheel a bit more resistance and tactile click feel. If you move this too fast it also seems to activate the side scrolling feature in the middle of what you're doing. It happened once while typing and scrolling this review. It uses 2 AA batteries instead of the traditional 1. I haven't owned this mouse long enough to need to replace the battery, so I'm hoping the two batteries will make it last longer than previous 1 battery models do. The 2nd battery also gives the mouse a little more weight which is actually good as this mouse is extremely lite otherwise. The tracking and sensitivity of the optical mechanism is great! You can actually set back and use this mouse on your pant leg if you want. This is a good mouse for diverse surfaces. I have used on wood-grain desks and metal surfaces (and my pant leg without any problems at all. I haven't tried it on a glass surface though. Best part of this mouse is the optical sensitivity. Logitech has an issue with all of it's mice that use the unifying receivers that is annoying for me. I've had 4 mice from Logitech recently (cheap to expensive) with these receivers. They all have short range issues. The range is under 3 feet. I often put my tower PCs on the floor next to my desk. This makes the distance from the mouse to the PC front about 2.75 feet and the distance to the rear of the PC a little over 3 feet. The mouse is very unresponsive and cuts out if I try to plug the receiver in the rear USB ports. So I have to use up one of the two front USB ports to get the mouse to be in range. I wish Logitech would extend the range of their unifying receivers a foot or two. This is quite annoying. I wish Logitech would go back to including the marvelous setpoint software in with the mouse. Now you always have to go hunting for it online as they don't include it. Setpoint is far better than the Windows mouse setup screens. In summation, if you can get this mouse on-sale for $20 or less it's a good buy. But at the $40 retail price, it's definitely not worth it. I used to swear by Logitech mice. Now with the short range and wireless quality issues I've recently had with some of them, I'm considering other brands. $40 is too much for a low-end wireless mouse when I can get from other manufacturers for 12-20 dollars.

    Smaller is Better!!!

This was my 2nd Logitech mouse. I recently bought a laptop and wanted to get a new mouse for it. My first one that my husband uses now with his desktop is a laser one and has been working great for the last few year. Because I heard that a laser one is better quality and newer than an optical one, I was set to buy a M510 and so I did. I took it home and started using it. It was great except that M510 was too big for my hand since it was a full-size mouse. My index finger reached just 1/3 of the wheel with my wrist relaxed. I was getting uncomfortable reaching out. So when I was thinking of returning the M510, I asked a salesman if there was a big difference between laser and optical. He said I wouldn't be able to tell any difference if I am not a super gamer. So I decided to exchange it to M525. I am VERY happy that I did. M525 fits my hand perfectly!! And the salesman was so right! I can't tell any difference!! This advanced optical mouse is as good as a laser mouse!! It is very responsive and works nicely without a mouse pad. The wheel is very smooth. I love the fact that it doesn't have "back & forward" bottoms on the side. I used to press the side bottoms unintentionally and it used to get me really frustrated. So tilting the wheel to go back and forward was a nice change. And yes, this has a zooming capability on pictures just like M510. This smaller mouse takes less space and is very comfortable holding it. I couldn't be happier with M525.

    Great All Around Mouse

Just bought this Logitech mouse to switch out my Kensington Trackball. Got tired of using the trackball. First off, I really like Logitech mice and have 2 others. I also have 2 Microsoft mice. The M525 is a great mouse in all aspects except for one. In terms of design it fits well in my hand. I have medium sized hands and the mouse is bigger than my V220 and smaller than my LZ6. It has an average hand size to it. I really like the quality of the trackball. It seems sturdy and has a nice rubberized grip. The sides of the mouse are also rubberized giving it a nice grip. I love the unifying nano transceiver. My other 3 mice have the old transceiver (a brick waiting to be broken) so it is nice to have the nano which fits snuggly in my laptop. The buttons are firm and overall the mouse is what I was looking for. As an added bonus the transceiver fits into the mouse when not in use. I was comparing this mouse to the Microsoft 4000 but the 4000 felt cheap and the trackball felt like a cheap piece of plastic. Now the only negative is the price. $40 for a mouse is a lot of money nowadays. The only reason I paid so much is because I had $15 in reward zone cash. Also I am not so fond of the red. My Best Buy only had the red in stock but I would have actually preferred a silver to match my Samsung laptop. Overall this is a great mouse and a great purchase. I have never had issues with any of my Logitech mice. A+

I have really enjoyed logitech's products over the years. I own the Revolution MX550 Keyboard & Mouse set, a surround sound system, and a headset. At one point, I owned their G13 Gaming Pad. This has all been high quality material for the price, so when searching for a mouse to go along with my new laptop, the logical choice was logitech. For OOB setup, it's relatively simple. Just pop in the batteries, turn on the mouse, and plug the receiver into an open USB port, and within seconds your mouse is moving. You don't even really need the setpoint software, though you will have a major headache without it, which I will explain later The weight and feel of the mouse is great. I have really large hands, so it is very hard to find a mouse that doesn't cramp my hand. The resistance from the weight feels solid enough that I am not afraid of accidentally breaking it, but not too heavy that it wears my hand out. The whole mouse is very well done, with one small issue that ruins the WHOLE experience for me and really causes me to return this one, and get a different mouse. The scroll wheel is extremely sensitive, and will cause you nothing but frustration, even with the optional setpoint software and smart scroll app you can download from logitech. Without the setpoint software, and without enabling the smooth scrolling option, zooming in and out of maps such as google or bing is Impossible. One small movement either zooms you all the way out, or all the way in. Sometimes, the scroll wheel will start moving by itself while viewing a webpage, and you see the webpage slowly move up or down. It is extremely annoying. It is also impossible to use the 3rd mouse button to open links in a new tab. Even just clicking the wheel causes webpages to move up and down. It is impossible to navigate through any browser with this mouse.

his Logitech Wireless mouse is unquestionably the best mouse I've owned yet. My previous mouse was also a Logitech, although a rather inexpensive optical model. After several years of use one of the buttons was very nearly worn out, but apart from that the mouse worked quite well. Considering even Logitech's base model offers that level of quality, I have no doubt I'll be using this mouse for years to come. For starters, it's more responsive than my previous mouse. It takes less physical movement of the mouse to click what I want on the screen. It's also slightly smaller than mouses I'm accustomed to, being a laptop mouse, which makes it easy to stow away when traveling. The scroll wheel contains "more grooves per millimeter", which means it's easier to scroll through webpages, as the wheel movement is quite fluid and without the slightest resistance. The box claims the mouse can work on any surface except glass and mirrors, and I've certainly found this to be true as I often use the mouse without a pad. Since the mouse operates on 2 AA batteries, there is an on/off switch as well as a sleep mode to save power. The USB receiver is small enough that there's no need to remove it from the laptop, as it fits almost flush into the the port with just enough sticking out to remove the device. If for whatever reason you choose to remove the receiver between sessions, there is a slot to safely store it within the mouse next to the batteries. I've enjoyed this mouse so much I'm currently using it with my desktop computer. Highly recommended.

    Solid Mouse...Missed Greatness

Good mouse. Operates smooth on a variety of surfaces. Could do without the unnecessary artwork/design on it, but maybe someone cares about having a "different" mouse out there (I pity you). Complaint 1) It runs on 2 AA batteries - all prior mice I've used ran on 1 AA battery. This is annoying as it makes replacement (even if using rechargeables) twice the pain. It also adds weight to the product that makes notably heavier than any mouse I've ever used. How this thing needs that much power is beyond me. Complaint 2) USB dongle plug goes inside the compartment that pops off to hide the batteries. This makes putting it back in the mouse a hassle each time I pack up (unless I want to leave it in my laptop always, and just hope I don't forget not to put it in my backpack plug side down too often). Can't believe they didn't make a cavity it the bottom for it to plug into (as I've seen before on other Logitech mice). Had I known this (didn't pay close enough attention) I would have bought a different mouse.

It works fine for the most part, no problem with set up, plug and play, easy! It does everything I need it to do with the exception of the feel of it. I had my last Logitech mouse for 9+ years and I loved it, so knew better than to stray from the brand. My main issue with it is it "sticks" to my hand! The top is slick, for that reason, it's not comfortable to use. I probably need a new mouse pad too, it seems to drag. I prefer not to use a laptop mouse, just my personal preference. I don't need all the buttons for programming special things, not a gamer, don't do a lot of spreadsheets, etc. I would be a happy camper if I could find a mouse that had the same type of material on top that it has on the sides. The rubbery feel of the sides is great! Price was a no brainer, around $20. It was in a plastic shell protector so I couldn't test drive it until I got it home and was too much trouble to take back and exchange for the price.

I already had another (smaller) Logitech wireless mouse (M325) which I carry along to use with my Laptop. This M525 has the same intuitive left/right finger tilt of the scroll wheel to page back/forward. Some models offer other features through additional buttons, but I just use this for web browsing and Photoshop (no gaming) so it is neat and uncluttered and meets all my needs. Very comfortable fit and feel in my hands and the wheel is extremely smooth, fast and accurate with no annoying "notching" either felt or heard. Because it uses two AA batteries and is larger (longer) overall than my other mouse, it is slightly more heavy (120 versus 95 grams). In use, that is not even noticed. It reads very well over a wide variety of surfaces and textures. The clever tiny Unifying USB receiver links this with my compatible Logitech wireless keyboard to eliminate needless clutter in my USB ports [Download of software was fast and simple to find on the Logitech website]. Price is very reasonable for such a surprisingly high quality product - and, as usual, the price from Best Buy was... well... the best buy I could find, anywhere. * FYI: I discovered this mouse and my Logitech K800 keyboard also work very nicely with my new Smart TV [Samsung] when the USB receiver is plugged into one of the available USB ports.

This was exactly what I needed for the desktop PC. Works great and was simple to install. The only thing that made a four star purchase was the fact that the item was mismarked. I found it on the marked down to 12.99 from 19.99 and when at the registar, it came up as $19. The young man at the registar told me I could go back and get another one. He made no effort to find out if I was right or wrong. He didn't call anyone, he just told me to buy this one or go back and get another one. I was in a hurry, needed to get this back so I could finish some computer work, so I just purchased the mouse, which would have been a good price, IF, it hadn't been mismarked and the employee would have at least ask for help is finding out if what I said was true and change it. So folks, beware that there could be prices shown that are not true! QA pricer are needed in several stores, and now in Best Buy. Sorry about the review guys, I'm just telling it like it happened.

Logitech M525 Wireless Mouse is an excellent accessory for any computer. Its price at Best Buy is so reasonable. The manufacturer is truly an expert on such products, and I am pleased to have found, upon phoning their customer service department, that their representatives are informed and courteous, which is too rare in this world. This wireless mouse, as stated above, has a considerately ergonomic design, has superbly quick device connectivity, is highly accurate and, of course, is useful. Plus, it requires only two AA batteries, is very energy efficient, so battery life is impressively long. The tiny unifying adaptor snaps easily and snuggly into a computer's USB port and you are ready for action. I'll add that, while I fortunately haven't had an opportunity to know for sure, it does appear quite durable. Some, so I've heard, think its size is, either, too bulky or just perfect. I can see both perspectives, though it generally fits where needed and performs well. I'm seriously glad to have caught this mouse.

I have had a Logitech laser mouse for a long time and it still was very functional. I change the battery every so often and continue on. However, my computer started acting strange when clicking links around the Internet. It didn't matter whether I was using the Chrome or Edge browser. I would get two and three duplicate pages open up most of the time or it wouldn't respond at all. Very unusual behavior and it drove me nuts! Finally fed up, I googled this behavior and found that some older mouses are not compatible with Windows 10. I was not new to Windows 10, but the behavior was similar. So, I replaced my old Logitech mouse (M-325) with this one (M-525) and I love it! The same feel and even better response! No more duplicate pages. Can't wait to experience the even longer battery life!

This is easily the best all-around mouse I have ever encountered. It is extremely ergonomic; I have medium-sized hands and some of the smaller wireless mice are too small to relax your hand on without your fingers trailing past the edge of the buttons, which feels unnatural. The scroll wheel & left/right scroll wheel buttons are nice. It is extremely well designed. It comes with a simple on/off switch which conserves battery life. The USB connector is fantastically small, which means it will never interfere with other USB connectors and you can safely leave it in your laptop 24-7 without fear of it snapping off. In addition, it supports multiple simultaneous Logitech devices, maximizing your available USB ports (important for laptop users). Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that the optical tracking, while not laser, has always been flawless in my experience.

    Excellent Basic Little Mouse

    Posted

I bought this mouse to replace an older Microsoft wireless mouse that was going bad. After comparing lots of mice on several web sites I decided on this one, because it received almost universally great reviews. The setup (on Windows Vista) couldn't be easier. Just insert the batteries, turn it on, plug the USB adapter into your computer, and that's it! I was at first surprised how very responsive this mouse was, but that could be because I had gotten so used to fighting with the old one. The scroll wheel is very smooth. I don't miss having more than the basic 3 buttons, because I never used the additional buttons of the old one anyway. The only "problem" is, that it is smallish, so people with very large hands might find it difficult and tiring to use. In summary, if you don't need a ton of buttons on your mouse and don't mind it being on the smaller side, you will be hard pressed to find a better value than this.

The Logitech M525 Power Plus wireless mouse has proven to be the perfect wireless mouse for me. I was tired of previous ones made by different manufacturers sticking, not rolling smoothly, and not always seeming to respond to my attempted mouse movements, but the Logitech M525 is absolutely perfect. It glides quickly and smoothly, it never sticks, and keeps up with what I'm trying to do. The ability to set its gliding movements at different speeds is also a big plus, and its design fits perfectly in my hand. The rollers on top and bottom work perfectly, and the ability to move the top roller to the left or right to navigate between web pages is another excellent feature. This beats all the competition I've experienced by a mile. Logitech is a very trustworthy manufacturer of excellent technological devices, and I highly recommend the M525 Power Plus wireless mouse.

This wireless mouse is a no-nonsense basic mouse with the features, speed and reliability I need. I use one with my laptop and one with my desktop computer. They are sturdy, smooth-operating with nice design features and rubber grips. The weight feels just right and there are no extra side buttons to accidentally press while you are concentrating on the work at hand. It's easy to set up--just plug in the controller into a USB port, boot up and your computer will find it instantly. It has an ON/OFF switch on the bottom to conserve battery life. It is not a very large mouse so those with really big hands might find it a bit too small. But it's great for those of us with small to medium sized hands.

I am shocked this mouse got so many good reviews. The only good thing is the size is larger than my last logitech mouse but everything else is just plain aweful. It does NOT slide easily. The bottom rubs on the mouse pad and makes a swishing noise as I have to force it to slide, it's difficult to move. My last mouse practically floated with great ease. The wheel on top is very very loose and while if you scroll very slowly you can control it, any movement faster than that becomes hard to control because it is so loose, easy to over push and it just takes off up and down. When it is just sitting on the mouse pad the wheel keeps loosing it's grip and just spins and doesn't move the screen up or down unless I over force it and they it just flies away. I guess I got what I paid for. Now I have to go back to the store and get a better one. :-(

Easy to install. I just plugged the transmitter into the USB port and the needed drivers were automatically installed. Not only does this mouse work on any surface, but it doesn't even need to be in direct line with the transmitter! I find this mouse to be much more versatile than the wired ones of the past. The wheel in the center can be tilted from side to side for going back to a previous page or forward to the next one. Also, the transmitter can be stored in the mouse itself for easy portability. And, the transmitter can be plugged into any other computer with a USB port and it will work just as well. And, this model has a 3 year battery life!

I've owned several of these over the years. They will honestly last about 2-3 years before they start having a "double click" issue (the button will register single clicks as double clicks every so often). However, during those 2 years, it's been one of the best and most responsive mouse I've ever used, and is able to work on different surfaces. I've tried other mice on the market and always ended up returning them and buying one of these. It's priced well enough to warrant purchasing a new one every few years if you can get it on sale.

Pros: The single Unifying receiver - I already had a Logitech wireless keyboard so just needed to add the mouse to my existing Unifying receiver for the keyboard. The mouse has a little compartment where it can store its own Unifying receiver, so that comes in handy in case I need to take the mouse with me for my work trips to use on my notebook. Cons: I don't have big hands, but sometimes the compact design feels too small - so those with big hands & who needs to use the mouse for an extensive period of time, you'd probably need to go for a larger, more ergonomically designed wireless mouse. Had occasional "lag" issues with the mouse when used on a white wooden table - but no issues on a mousepad.
