Ergonomically correct shape is perfect for precise control and helps prevent carpal tunnel syndrome. Interfaces flawlessly with almost any computer. Gets good battery life with only one AA battery and the battery status indicator light is a nice feature. My only wish would be to make the ball slightly larger like their earlier designs, however the newest new design keeps ball from popping out unexpectedly - a problem with their earlier versions. While not the same quality or functionality of a "professional" $200-600 trackball, its value for the money is unsurpassed. This is the forth one I've owned over the past two decades and I am well pleased with it.

I wanted a mouse to use with my laptop. With it being a laptop, it's usually being used on a soft surface such as the couch or on my bed- rarely on a flat smooth surface where a traditional laser mouse would work.I knew I needed a trackball mouse that I could keep stationary and use it on soft surfaces. I love that I can control the direction of the mouse with my thumb and not have to move it all over the place and then reset it like a traditional mouse. I also love it has the scroll and the back and forward buttons. One trouble I was having with my laptop mouse was as I was trying to scroll, I'd keep my index finger on the left click and use my middle finger to scroll up or down on the mouse pad. After so long, my knuckle joint started to bother me. With the trackball mouse that doesn't happen, especially since it has the scroll built in. Its nice I can have my laptop in my lap and put the mouse any where. I tend to be cold all the time and it's awesome to be able to have the mouse next to me under the blanket instead of my arm on a table with my fingers freezing. It has little grips on the button so if I do put it on the laptop it stays. It has a timer and a colored on off button on the bottom. With the timer, if i forget to turn it off, it will on it's own, saving the battery. I've had it about a month or more so not sure how long they last but when reviewing the description, it said about 18 months. Over all, I really like it. I wish my job provided a trackball mouse!

I've never been big on having a mouse, I almost always rely on a laptop track pad but boy was I missing out big time! I've been spending long hours on my laptop for school and this mouse has been a life saver. No hand, wrist, arm, elbow, or shoulder fatigue at all. Very comfortable. I thought it was going to take a while to get used to, but not at all. Then again, that may be because I didnt already have a regular optical mouse and hadn't used one in hears. I even thought about 3D printing a stand to make it more ergonomic like the more expensive version, but I haven't had to, it's been perfect straight out of the box. Excellent battery life. Easy to configure to your liking. So happy I bought this.

I've had the Trackball for about a month now, but I've been using Logitech Trackman Trackball mice for about 10 years. The buttons on the wired mouse were starting to double click, so I figured it would be time to invest in a new one and take the plunge into wireless, Bluetooth-connected devices for my PC. It's been wonderful. The single AA battery has showed no signs of weakening. The buttons respond, and the scrolling is as smooth at my wired mouse. It takes a while to get used to having "Back" and "Forward" browsing buttons, but they're a nice luxury when you do get used to using them. The responsiveness is instant. The ball has stayed clean and hasn't collected any desk junk or grease, or whatever it is that used to accumulate on my old mouses' ball contact points. It's also really nice to be able to lean back in my chair and surf the internet with the mouse on my lap, or chair arm, something that was a hassle with the wired mouse and its cord. Lazy, yes. Convenient, definitely!

If you like wireless, this trackball works great, and batteries last a long time. Still, for those who prefer to avoid extra RF and batteries, it sure would be nice if Logitech would also make a wired version of this. I would be more likely to buy a wired one than a wireless one. But the wireless one works great for what it is.

Very easy to use. Have been using Track balls for quite sometime. Much easier on old hands. Like the new wireless with my laptop and my desk top. This is my second thumb style Track Ball. Have one of the older wired style on one of my desktops and it is very easy to use either one. Highly recommend Track Balls for ease of comfort.

I like this trackball because it takes up the least amount of space . I don't have to have a clear space on my desk to be able to move it, and when I use it when on the road, at night, I can put it on my leg ar any other small area, which doesn't have to be flat, and can change location to avoid getting a cramp in my arm or hand.

Great Replacement For Old Logitech Trackball

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This is a great replacement for my old Logitech wireless trackball. The USB dongle is really small and can be left in the laptop all the time - compared to the boat anchor the old wireless track ball had. I have large hands and this feels comfortable even after 4 to 5 hours of work. It has an on/off switch, a batter power indicator although I assume it only lights up when the battery is close to needing replacement. It uses 1 AA battery and where the battery goes in, there is a storage place for the USB dongle. There is also a back/forward button that fits comfortably for your index finger between the trackball and the right/left buttons. Synchronization is immediate - unlike my old trackball where I had to press buttons on both the USB dongle/anchor and the trackball to initiate communications. I am having one weird issue and I am not sure if it is the trackball or just the software on my company's laptop. I am using a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic keyboard 4000 and when I reboot my laptop I have to remove the dongle or my keyboard will not work - almost like a USB conflict. Once the laptop is powered up and running, I just insert the dongle and the keyboard / trackball work without any further conflicts. Overall I highly recommend this.

I have a MacBook Pro and needed to use a simulation design program for school. While the Mac's trackpad is fabulous, it's not very ideal for running certain programs efficiently. That is where this mouse comes in to play. Will work on any surface, track ball operates smoothly and accurately, excellent battery life, and discrete/convienient USB receiver. The wireless range is also as far as described.

This is the second one of these I have bought and they are a solid, reliable and easy to setup. The first one I bought did finally wear out but it took more than 5 years to do it so I rate that a good lifetime for a product I handle every day. It has all the essentials you need, a wheel, three buttons and some extra programmable thumb buttons. I personally don't use those but it is a nice feature. I find the battery life to be quite long more than 8 months of heavy use even with the econo-brand AA's. Probably a lot better if you buy name brand batteries.

I had to replace my old trackball after 8 years, it finally died. The features and convenience of the trackball are great. I don't have to move it around like a mouse. It is ergonomically designed and has many features. It is designed for a right handed person. My wife does work well with it being left handed. The ball moves smoothly and can be easily removed for cleaning if it gets sticky.

My son received this as a gift. He's a 9 year old avid Minecrafter. He plugged it in and got it working on his own right away. I then told him to search, and load Logitech's Setpoint software for added features, and he managed this without assistance as well. Logitech makes it easy enough for a 9 year old to do what dad guides him to do to set this up with minimal effort. The trackball is comfortable for his hands and my own. He's incredibly accurate and fast with it. I give the product 5 stars. Unfortunately, this was another one of those items where I had to ask the Best Buy store counter to price match their own website to get the best price. This is a regular occurrence. It's just a darn shame that the extra effort required to actually get the "best buy" falls on the customer.....

I had to switch to this mouse because I was tired of worrying about my cat destroying my wired one. I use this both in my classroom as a teacher and at home for gaming. It is very convenient and the signal reaches far enough to provide me mobility across my classroom when doing a presentation to my students. It is fairly responsive when I'm gaming and fits my needs fairly well.

My wrist was always getting sore from using a mouse if I had to be on my computer for very long. I tried all kinds of mouse pads, to no avail. I decided to give this a try and I am glad I did. It has relieved all my wrist aches. I don't have to move my hand around anymore, I just roll the ball with my thumb. Much easier and less painful.

This is about the only thumb operated trackball that you can find now. I would really have preferred it to not be wireless, but wireless is all that is available. I have used this particular trackball for about 3 years now and love it. Needed an additional one for a different computer, so I purchased another one. Very well made and easily cleaned when necessary.

The mouse has good action with the track ball and action keys are responsive. It is a bit large for my mouse surface pad connected to my under desk keyboard tray but it is wireless so can be used on desk surface. Nice to have dongle storage inside bottom of mouse and on/off switch to save battery. Due to my wrist surgery I should have bought a vertical mouse but this track ball mouse is still a good product. I gave it 4 stars because the size is a bit large. Overall, good product.

This mouse is comfortable on your hand, responsive, and doesn't need a cable. It takes a little getting used to for a first-time user, but it is sooo much better than having to move your mouse all over the desk and it is very restful for your arm and shoulder. Once you try this type of mouse, I don't think you'll ever go back to the other type.

Trackballs are much more convenient than meeces! They take up less desk space & are easier on the wrist. This design hasn't really changed in a long time; however, it's a tank! It has more customization than I quite know what to do with, but also can be used as-is without bothering with the extras. The installation is a breeze. I really like the wireless function. Only problem is they're not really repairable. I took my old one apart to evict the cat fur & never got it to work right again. I do have to note it was over 10 years old!
