the keyboard was just a little too skinny for me to easily type things and the magnet wasnt strong enough to hold onto my ipad, it kept slipping off which is a big issue while traveling.

Not really what I was looking for. I thought it was more of a protective case than it was. Back side of iPad was exposed. My bad, not a product issue.

Purchased for my 16 year old daughter. Returned as it did not seem very sturdy or protective and the Ipad did not "lock" into the keyboard.

This is a nice keyboard that works well in most situations. It can be easy to hit the wrong keys, since the device is so small, but that's to be expected since this is for an iPad Mini.

My only complaint is that I wish it would hold the mini with a case on in the slot.

I do not recommend this product. The keys stick then they break and the keyboard is not sturdy. Can't reach manufacturer either. In this case the old saying..... "You Get What You Pay For" is true.

Excellent expensive keyboard with a serious flaw

Conclusion: minus 2 stars for not working as a cover and minus 1 star for the price. Read on for details.
I really want to give this 4 or 5 stars but when used as a cover, it does not hold onto the iPad mini. The iPad separates way too easy--practically falls right off. The previous version of this keyboard--with the swinging magnetic arm--locks well to the iPad. This new version is horrible in comparison. This keyboard is designed for both the the iPad mini and mini retina which may be the problem. The mini retina (which is slightly thicher) might hold better because the magnetic arm is made to fit it better--thus might provide better grip. But I don't know for sure as I do not have one to test it. If you have an iPad mini don't expect it to stay connected to the keyboard as a cover.
Everything else is excellent. Of course, it's a tiny keyboard so there are lots of inherent compromises, but Logitech does an excellent job with them. The typing feel of the keys is top notch and very responsive--there's little to no lag--typing feels precise. Its MUCH better compared to a few other keyboards I tested.
The new tilting feature is fantastic. You put the iPad mini in the slot that holds it up for "laptop" mode--then you can tilt it back more. This makes a huge difference in usability especially when trying to type in your lap. It is very nice and why I really wanted to keep this keyboard.
The final problem is the price. At $90 dollars, it is not a good value. And it absolutely should NOT have such a seious flaw. But even without the serious flaw, I don't think it should be more than $75 or so.
Serisoulsy, though, if you don't mind the price and it not working well as a cover, I suggest you consider this keyboard--it is very nice. But for me: minus 2 stars for not working as a cover and minus 1 star for the price.

Disappointed in new hinge design

I just purchased this keyboard as a replacement for my older Ultrathin keyboard which I damaged.
I was excited about the new pop up magnetic but it does not work as well as the older click version. It's a new feel to get used to. The problem is when you place the iPad in the magnet you are not confident that it's actually attached.
Also when removing the iPad it kinda of slips off of the keyboard and slides around in your hand and on the flat area behind the tilt stand. The hinge does not rotate back a 180 degrees so the iPad releases too early and you don't feel as though you have a good grip on the iPad.
The whole housing feels cheaper and the keyboard is actually slightly smaller that the older version.
The really sad part is when you're carrying the closed iPad and cover, the plastic hinge is annoyingly sharp. The older version was round and smooth and very comfortable in your hand. The older version was truly more Apple like. The new version not at all. This to me is a real failure from the design team. I was originally impressed with the older version as it was one of the few accessories that felt like an Apple product and one Apple could have designed them selves. I probably will get used to the attaching and removal of the Ipad but never of the sharp edges!
I do like the new tilt function. One of the issues that the older version lacked so that's great.
I can't believe they still haven't figured out a backlit keyboard!!
Really? For 90 Bucks!?
I probably will keep this keyboard because I need it but, every time I am carrying it around or use it I am reminded of how bad a job Logitech did on the hinge design.
They should have just added the tilt function to the old design and would have been way ahead of the game.

This works very well with my iPad, and matches the color exactly when closed. Works exactly as it should.
