Phenomenal acting, engaging storyline and beautiful cinematography, a series which requires multiply viewings. Duvall is excellent and my only complaint is the minimal scenes with Huston.

It's Lonesome Dove! The Blue Ray is good quality! Love it.

Lonesome Dove is a movie of such rare greatness that when it's discovered by an individual, it has the power to change lives. I'm new to bluray so I've yet to purchase this, but only because I didn't know it had been released. Tommy Lee Jones, Robert Duvall, Danny Glover, Diane Lange, Frederick Forrest, Rick Schroeder....etc etc etc. In a previous review with the regular dvd, someone made the comment. "If you only watch one more movie before you die, let it be this one."

This is my husband's favoriate Western movie. We were delighted to find it in Blu-ray. I surprised him with it as a Christmas gift. Our daughter and her family were here from Seattle for the holidays. We all enjoyed watching it together. The picture was so clear, color so bright and beautiful. It was almost like seeing a totally different movie, comparing it to the old version we have.

It's like watching it for the first time (even though I've seen it probably 100 times). I watched Lonesome Dove when it first aired on TV and taped it on VHS and when it came out on VHS I bought the whole set. The DVD came next and now I have it on Blu-ray. I don't know if it can get any better!

I haven't seen a mimiseries that I liked as much as Lonsome Dove since. It has something for everyone: action, drama, suspense. It is one that you can watch over and over and not get tired of it.

Have seen this movie 100 times. Great movie for all family members. Especially your boys who think they have it tough today.

First of the two discs, pixel 12ES, breaks up and then freezes about 2/3 way through the disc. We were unable to complete viewing this disc. Disc two works fine. Please send paperwork to return for replacement. If the item was not damaged, I would recommend to a friend. Very good entertainment.
