The Longest Day - an epic movie with an all star cast. D-Day 1944 as the Allied Forces led by General Eisenhower storm the beaches and parachute behind enemy lines. Many of the scenes are taken from actual events. A great movie.

The story of the D-Day invasion told from the points of view of soldiers given five different areas to invade. With actors like Henry Fonda and John Wayne, it is a true all time classic fim. Even by today's movie standards. A true salute to the brave men who stormed the beaches at Normandy.

The only bad thing about this movie is that it's a true story. I hope that this is a movie that every student sees sometime in their education and is taught that this horrible and tragic day happened. We should always remember the heroic men who died that day.

Such a great classic film. Always great to see the French speak French, and the Germans actually speak in German and so on. Only down side to the movie is that the invasion scenes are too 1960's Hollywood so seeing Robert Mitchem "stroll" on Utah beach is a bit of a problem, but it is 1960's Hollywood.

D-Day films comes and go, but this still ranks among the best. The black and white look makes sense, and the story is told in terms that allows the viewer to understand what actually happened on June 6, 1944. This is film is worthy to view and add to any great war history motion picture collection.

This is the first Huge WWII Blockbuster from 1962. Excellent quality of the B&W picture on Blu-Ray. No readily discernible problems with screen image or sound, well done. It is also an excellent (although not completely accurate) portrait of the D Day landing, but it is a movie after all.

I am a ww2 buff, love ww2 movies & books, and think that The Longest Day is the best WW2 movie of all time.. I dont consider Band of Brothers as a movie, otherwise it would be #1, but the pure star power, the length of the movie, the scenery, the use of authentic language with subtitles..all put together make it the best.

This is a repackage of an earlier release so there is no remaster or anything like that. The film still holds up today as an example of TRUE big Hollywood epics of the golden years. Plus it is the original black and white version. For me that is a big plus.

This is a classic WWII movie, it has almost all of the big people of the time in it. The story of D-Day from the mutiple perspectives of different units in the Allies as well as Axis forces. If you love WWII movies and haven't watched this one, you are missing out.

Another WWII war classic with an all star cast, a must have or see classic that with Cleopatra of that year almost bankrupted 20th Century Fox. Film covers the D Day landing and airborne drops before and after. Well written and done. A must for war fans.

"The Longest Day" is Hollywood's version of the June 6, 1944, D-Day invasion of Normandy. The movie is jam packed with a roster of the most recognizable Hollywood stars of the time - including John Wayne, Robert Mitchum, Henry Fonda, Richard Burton, Sean Connery, Robert Wagner, and Rod Steiger, just to name a few. The film is cinematography at its finest and makes the viewer almost feel part of the action. Historically accurate and complete, "The Longest Day" should be part of every WWII film buff's collection!

One of my favorite movies with every star that was in the movie business at that time. Showing the landing at D-Day with a more subdued fashion than Saving Private Ryan but in 1962 that was all they could show and still get the public in to watch it

The Longest Day is certainly a well known movie. It is revered by many as the WWII movie. Being a steelbook I doubt that it will ever be opened. I think that is a STATE LAW. The drawback is that you can't get to the UltraViolet code.

Huge cast of great actors . A depiction of 1944 invasion of Normandy , France. Surprise attack to change the course of the war and the world. Movie saved 20th Century Fox from total bankruptcy . Their movie CLEOPATRA was over budget .

AN ALL-STAR CAST LEADS THE CHARGE! SEE THIS HISTORIC EVENT FROM BOTH SIDES! THRE WERE MANY BATTLES IN THE FIGHT FOR FREEDOM BUT THERE WAS ONLY ONE, "LONGEST DAY"!!!

I used to watch this movie with my dad. He fought in WWII and we both sat there and we're very quiet. He said after that he remembered this day and told his friends the day would go down as the turning point in the war. Loved being able to share with him.

Very information movie about the D Day landing at Normandy. Both sides were featured and seemed to be factually accurate. Several stars with brief appearances. One I’ll watch again.

Feels like a documentary but is in fact a Hollywood film about the D-Day invasion of World War 2. Told from both sides and with a major international cast. Blu-Ray looks fantastic and I highly recommend it for the film buffs collection.

D-day, June 6th, 1944. The beginning of the end for Germany. Movie shows both sides of the battle and used all most all the male movie stars in the world. The good the bad and the funny that happened that day in great detail. Best war movie ever made.
