At the time the movie had some of the best actors of the time. A movie like this would cost a fortune to do nowadays with the movie stars it contained. The movie, Saving Private Ryan, stand tall next to the original The Longest Day.

great classic movie to add to a collection if you enjoy these older big-screen epics. One I needed to have in my collection for sure. It is of a quality that lacks the latest technology so don't expect too much when critiquing the video quality in comparison to a new movie, but a famous movie from a Hollywood era long gone now. Worth the money to add to your movie library if you like the WWII movies of the 50/60's.

Many, many stars in this film! It isn't just the Normandy landing but what happens behind the front. Told from the Allied and German perspectives. It's black and white but that doesn't matter because there is action throughout.

All-Star group of actors and is very faithful to the events that occurred in WW 2. Not as graphic as Saving Private Ryan, but a great film on its own!! The black and white style adds to the feeling of history!

This is a truly great movie , I had seen this when I was a teenager and I knew I had to own it when I saw it on the shelf at best buy. A movie with great scenes and allot of battle action plus a great story.

This is an old movie (circa 1960s) that is a "must see" for everyone. The collectors edition was for my wife. This movie and "Patton" are films to live on and on bringing perspective to generations to come.

This movie is one of my favorites, and a classic. It seems like they gave every male actor of age at the time a part in that movie. At points, all those actors wanting face time detract from the movie, but not much. Well done.

100% worth every penny to buy. John Wayne, Henry Fonda, Robert Mitchum, how can you go wrong?? Best WW2 movie ever. German acting was also very good and this was very realistic. I would recommend this film to any fan of the old school actors.

The Longest Day is the best ww2 movie of all time, right in line w/ Cornelius' book. Would love to see a remake w/ todays technology that is only on the events of the day (unlike a Saving Ryan) - must see for any ww2 fan

I try to watch the movie every year on its anniversary date. It’s a wonderful perspective of historical event and something we should never forget. Especially, today.

This was a replacement for a vhs version of mine. There are certain scenes that I look forward to seeing. The expression on the German officers face when he saw the armada coming into view is an example.

This is a pretty good depiction of the story of Omaha Beach and Utah Beach in WW2 and should be a story not forgotten, only one better or more graphic would be Saving Private Ryan or The thin Red Line

Film should be seen in high school for teens to see the cost of freedom. Would help those who want to serve to see the effort and the personal cost.

It is amazing that the prints of so many classic movies are being produced on Hi Resolution media. Brings new life to these movies and permits an OUTSTANDING viewing experience not possible for decades.

Same great movie I've always loved, but the colored images of the movie on the front and back of the case made me thought the movie was in color, but it is still black and white. The video quality was touched up a noticeable amount, although the audio quality doesn't seem polished at all.
