Very much like dark souls. Tactical fighting, worth a playthrough but not much replay factor here.

This game far exceeded my expectations. Try a mage first if you do get this game as the one quirk of this game is that your class and armor just don't seem to matter. I beat the game mage spec'd as it was the only class with a true healing spell - shelter. And with the heaviest armor and most of my points in strength.
Definitely worth a play.

As a big fan of dark souls, I found this game to be familiar territory, with better graphics in a more linear package. I would recommend this game to those that found dark souls a bit TOO difficult but enjoyed the combat and general feel of the game. If you aren't a fan of the Souls genre, but you've liked action games in the past like DMC, Bayonette, HUNTED, or something similar, you may still want to give it a shot.
I've enjoyed the game so far, though the bugs and fairly generic storyline / enemies leave something to be desired. There are also sections that were clearly copy/pasted from previous segments of the world. It is as if the developer cut corners where they could in level & enemy design, story and character development just so they could get the most important things down pat: combat, weapon and armor design, and those types of systems.

Definitely a fun game. Love the looks and environments. There are a few small hiccups with gameplay and the story could be a little more involved with the player. At the end of the day it was definitely worth picking up.

I've invested quite a few hours in this game. The combat is pretty awesome, it's in the same spirit as dark souls. Meaning, spamming attacks gets you killed. It's rarely overwhelming and cheap in its strategies. There was some clearly thought design on the levels/ enemies placement, etc.
The first run would take you ~20hrs, second ~8hrs, speedrun ~2hrs.
After finishing you'll want to start new runs with different strategies. Check out a youtube video and see if the ambiance is for you, the mechanics are good.
There are some glitches though, but nothing that would become overly annoying (at least on PS4)

The game is like a mixture of Dark Souls and Kingdoms of Amular. Not as hard as DS but not as arcade easy like KoA. I don't like the lack of character customization. Overall, it's a fun game.

Originally the game was bombarded with glitches. After downloading what looked like the biggest update patch I've ever seen on the PS4 (15gigs), it still had its issues.
The voice-acting isn't very good comparing to the visual speech of the characters. It's like why even do a close up to their face if their lips don't come even close to matching.
Visually it looked good when it wasn't glitching. I got stuck under rubble during a fight and had to restart the game.
At times what is a simple fight feels cumbersome because you have to wait such a long time for the opening (and this is fighting regular enemies, not bosses).
I did enjoy the weight system used for equipment. Being able to either have a complete gear set or switch out what I wanted, using a shield, not using a shield, so that I could put on more armor and so forth.
I've never played Dark Souls like many people compared this game to and maybe I should because I was disappointed with this one.
They try to throw you right into the game with very little story to go on. So unless you read about it beforehand, you'll have to wait quite a bit to get anything substantial on the main character.
I'd say play at your own risk and/or when they're done tweaking everything they need to.

I really enjoyed playing that game coming from Dark Souls1 and Dark Souls2 background. Its not as hard and complex (no multiplayer) as the DS series, but also fun!

Good game, tough bosses from the start, No difficulty options, limited grinding opportunities so be careful when a boss is coming up. Somewhat interesting story.

If you tried this type of gameplay before in the Dark Souls series you know exactly what you're getting into. While the mechanics might be the same the game is definitely friendlier to the gamer and you actually feel like your getting somewhere without having to dump many hours of repeat gameplay like in Souls series. The overall experience feels more stream lined and easy to grasp. If your a huge fan of the Souls games this title might leave you wanting, however, if you found the Souls games cool but impenetrable Lords of the Fallen might just be your opportunity to get into the genre.

It is better than Dark Souls as far as the graphics/gameplay, but still too many deaths. Needs to progress faster.

I have friends that have been unable to experience the Souls series due to the difficulty curve. It's not fair to compare this game directly to a Souls game, but it is certainly more approachable.
Game mechanics are the star of this game, however. Armor and weapons make a difference. Heavy armor allows you to take a few hits, while light armor keeps you agile.
Excellent game, overall. Glad to see more entries in this genre.

Lords of the fallen is a very excellent game, though it's story is ok but never really explained combat is decently paced and there is actually breakable items with loot in them. All in all it is a decent fantasy game though could be beaten very quickly with intense sittings. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a decent game on PS4/Xbox 1. I had some minor graphical and audio issues but they do not last long or break the game.
