The main problem with this Lorex camera system is Lorex. I have *never* experienced a more diorganized company. Let me give you just one example. If you pay Lorex extra, you are supposed to get cloud storage of video content plus something they call Rapid Recap, which is supposed to be an automatically created video, edited to the time frame you specify, of all the events that triggered motion detection. First problem I encountered was: how to pay for this? You can tell right there that this company is disorganized if they make it hard for you to pay them; but, they do. If you log in online to your Lorex account there is a place for ordering this service---but, it doesn't work. So, I called. I was told "oh yeah, you can't pay for this online, you have to call in". OK, so why does the website have a page for ordering the servie? Anyways, I paid over the phone. There was another bit of wrong information give me after this that I won't go into, but after paying, I asked how to create the Rapid Recap. I was told you can only do that on a smart phone app. Strange. But, again, I said OK, and later I tried. I can't figure out how to do it, I can't see any way to get Lorex's phone app to create a Rapid Recap.. I then went on the 'support' section of the Lorex website and filed a service ticket. A message said an email would be right away acknowleding the ticket being filed. They know my email because the login id to the website is the user's email. But, no email came. Not in spam, not in junk not anywhere. It's been 2 days.
I had other problems too: the NVR hard drive came with the internal hard disk unattached (SATA card left dangling at the factory) and one of the 8 cameras didn't work at all. Plus their NVRs are *terribly* noisy. You won't want to be in the same room with one. Very loud fan.
But, the system does work. I am able to get video footage of my home while I am away, either on a laptop or a phone. That's the basics, and it works. I give it 3 stars for that, and also for the fact that I've heard the major competition (for wired camera, not wireless) is even worse.
I'd like to put a good word in, though, for the Best Buy staff. The in home advisor who came out to my home to plan the install and the sales people at the store were always very helpful. The install crew were OK, although they were also a little disorganized, but, they too, got the job done.

I can not say enough to thank Mr. Turner & Tre on the installation of my system. They worked till 1900hrs each day to get it done & got frustrated as did I only to find out the activation failure was due to the DVR, which is being replaced thanks to Mr. Bennett. These employees are examples for ya'll!!!! Thank you Mr. Turner, Tre, & Mr. Bennett!!!!

3 TB is not enough to store enough video to hold more than 3 days before it records over itself.

Worst customer Service ever. Run from this company. No camera lights only a power light. There are LED's on on the processor PCB. The fans are running. The video gives a splash screen and after four hours of being on the phone their great tech support decides that it a bad power cord. Really!!!!! What training do they have? Warranty your product Finally agreed to replaced after I tried another power cable but I had to send my back first. I'm require to buy a box since I have no box big enough to ship it back. Spending my money to send their defective unit back!
