Alarm and light are garbage
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I returned a different system to get this one but was a bit disappointed since the ad for the alarm and light were misleading. They only work for about 10 seconds and do not work automatically when an intruder shows up. There's no setting for that option and the alarm even when turning it on manually is very faint and will probably make the intruder laugh along with the weak light. I actually wasted 4 hours taking down the old system and getting this one. The one I returned actually had a wider range than this one.

It's okay, at best. Old Technology. Bad Service.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, if this is your first camera system and want to learn or have never set up a system before, this is a very good starter. Lets start with the good stuff... Very easy to setup. Pull the cable, mount the cameras, plug everything in. Comes out of the box ready to use, with a few simple steps, and is preset to optimal settings. Excellent video quality at 5-15 feet from camera. Deterrent lights are a nice feature just to let people know they are being recorded. Motion activation is pretty spot on. I watch footage of 24 hour recording and see every point where motion should activate, it activates every time. FlirCloud for the PC (PC software from Lorex) is the only real way to search though videos. And.... That's about it. Lets start with the video quality. 4K/8mp, wow right? This only records 4K @7fps. This makes for a very choppy recording. So while you can get a great image if someone is walking in slow motion, anyone running, or a car driving by is out of the question. 5mp @20fps or 3mp @30+fps would ultimately give you a better image. Night vision coverage is pretty good, (black and white) the IR emitters are strong and provide good coverage. The color night vision is a problem. I never could get mine to function properly and when it does work everything is so dark you can't see anything. No Audio Mobile application needs a lot of work. It is impossible to just look through the recordings unless you have hours to do just that. Makes it very unpleasant to try and look for an event, or just see what may have happened around the house during the day. Customer service is AWFUL. Spent an hour talking with them and got absolutely nothing accomplished . They tried to bail on helping me multiple times. The only information or support they have to give is everything you find in the generic publications on the website and throughout the internet. For what it's worth, I am returning this. I will spend a little more money for a system that better suits my needs. My old system gave me a sense of security knowing it was in place and working. This system has me worried about the security of my home and the functionality of the system. Added stress is not what I thought I was purchasing.

Not real 4K
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The unit is ok but I agree with the other comments here. I bought it a few days ago and spent two days installing and running cables to be disappointed with the image. You can still see things but it is not what you would expect out of a 4K system. Maybe is the cables like the other users say, not sure. It that's the case, it is the poorest call to manufacture 4K cameras and DVR and package it with cables that don't support 4K. Now I'm left deciding if I take the whole thing down and return it, or cut my losses and put up with it. Also, the fan is constantly going in the DVR which makes it loud, so don't put it anywhere close to where you sleep or you won't. You'll probably get the same quality with a unit half the price.

Posted .We are sorry to hear about your concern. We in fact test all components such as cables, power adapters etc. with the final hardware equipment to ensure they are working up to the required and marketed specifications. The coax/bnc cables you are referring to which are included in the bundle were specially designed for 4K to meet the higher specification requirements. We have tested literally dozens of cable grades/specifications to come up with the final cable design. So we are confident that the concern you mentioned does not stem from the camera extension cables provided.
Please check to make sure your recorder is set to 4K resolution. (We provide multiple output options on the recorder so that it’s compatible with various resolution monitors.) If after doing so you are still not satisfied, please contact us at [email protected] for further assistance.
