Customers are saying

Customers highly value the excellent camera quality and reliable motion detection capabilities of this Smart Home Security Center. The system's ability to clearly capture images, even at lower resolutions, and accurately detect motion is frequently praised. However, some users note that the camera batteries require a relatively long charging time. More information on long-term battery performance is needed.

Lorex - Home Center with Two 2K Smart Deterrence Outdoor Wire-Free Cameras with Person Detection - White I just installed this product so there options that I have not investigated yet. But I wanted to post a review on what I found out so far. I will say this: This product seems like a commercial or professional product. It’s that good. Before installation the batteries needed charged which took a couple of hours. Installation was extremely easy. Connection to the internet was easy. Setting up the cameras to work with the central unit called the Home Center was simple and straightforward. The camera produces video that’s very clear with sound. The cameras connected wirelessly though they can be connected with Ethernet. Though the unit comes with a WiFi Extender I found I didn’t need it. I was surprised by that because I live in a 3 story old home and from attic to basement the coverage was flawless. The Home Unit allows for monitoring and manipulating the camera output. There seems to be plenty to learn there but it looked as easy to do so as the installation. Additionally, the manufacture supplies a phone app that also can be used to monitor or manipulate the output. The cameras can be used indoor or outdoor. I would highly recommend the product for the following reasons: 1. Quality of the product is excellent. 2. Ease of installation and use 3. Wireless 4. Coverage distance is excellent 5.Cameras can be stationed inside or outside 6. The phone app is useful when you are away

So after seeing this pop up I really wanted to test this system out from Lorex as I've received other security camera products before from Lorex and was thoroughly impressed with those. So going into this I had high hopes for this bundle with 2 included 2K Smart Deterrence Outdoor Wireless Cameras. Unpacking the box, you will find 4 separate boxes inside: Box 1 (Main Box): Lorex Smart Home Security Center, Power Adapter, Ethernet Cable, and a Pre-Installed Memory Card. Box 2 (Camera 1): Wire-Free Camera, Battery Pack, Power Cable, Mounting Bracket, Anchors & Screws, Mounting Template, and Mounting Plate. Missing or purposely not included is a Power Adapter to charge Battery Pack (I'll speak on this later). Box 3 (Camera 2): Wire-Free Camera, Battery Pack, Power Cable, Mounting Bracket, Anchors & Screws, Mounting Template, and Mounting Plate. Missing or purposely not included is a Power Adapter to charge Battery Pack (I'll speak on this later). Box 4 (Extender Box): Extender, Power Adapter, and Power Cable. Upon unboxing everything and getting ready to setup the system, right away from the get-go I noticed that there was no Power Adapters for either camera. I double and triple checked to make sure I wasn't missing anything. I contacted Lorex via email and was not happy with their response. I informed them that as I went to setup the system, that I noticed there was no Power Adapters included in the packaging for the cameras. I sent a picture of the manual which clearly states, "May include one or more, depending on the package purchased." To me that says that depending on what package you have, you should have at least the number of chargers based on the number of cameras you have. Seeing as how this bundle comes with 2 cameras, one would expect to have 2 Power Adapters included. The next response that I received from Lorex was, "the manual, may be incorrect." Now I've dealt with other manufacturers in the past, and if/when a customer contacts them over missing parts, most will without hesitation send out the missing parts to the customer immediately no questions asked. Lorex wanted me to take pictures of everything I had so that they could verify whether or not I had everything. Well based on other reviews here, I was not the only one with missing Power Adapters from their package. Now considering the day and age we all live in, most consumers like myself may have an extra couple of Power Adapters lying around the house from other various tech products we own i.e. cell phones, tablets, or other electronic devices, that we could easily use to charge the battery packs for this camera system. However, if I walk into Best Buy to purchase this system at $599.99, I would expect it to have all parts included in the system when I get home to set it up. I would be highly upset that I'd have to either purchase additional Power Adapters or hunt for some around the house. Ok, so after finding a couple of chargers that I could use to charge both cameras simultaneously, I sat and waited as instructed by the manual for about 4.5 to 5 hours waiting for the cameras to be fully charged. Once the cameras were fully charge, I was able to setup system and get it running. You will need to download the Lorex app from the iOS App Store for iPhone or Google Play Store for Android. After downloading the app and setting up an account, the Home Center will guide you through the rest of the process of adding your cameras to the Home Center. Once I got my cameras added, I was blown away with the video quality. Very stunning HD. The Home Center display is touch screen and has a ton of different settings and options for you to tweak however you see fit. I will say that this is a nice camera system that brings everything to one spot with the Home Center. If the powers that be at Lorex can get their act together and make sure all parts are included in the packaging I would be more inclined to recommend this to others. Especially with it being stated in the manual that that Power Adapters are to be included; and not give the one the response that the manual was incorrect.

The Lorex wire free home security camera setup is the easiest system install I have ever done! 30 minutes from unboxing to fully setup! The wireless cameras work great on the front and back of my house and they have all the features (and more) of other wired systems. You can monitor anytime from your phone for free and you have the convenience of a replaceable micro-SD card to expand storage with ease! The video quality is great and I no longer have to worry about packages being stolen off my front porch with the audible chime and face detection on the cameras! I would highly recommend this system for anyone wanting security without all the headaches of long wiring jobs!

The Home Center display is touch screen and has a ton of different settings and options for you to tweak however you see fit. This is a very nice camera system that brings everything to one spot with the Home Center. Although its for outdoor usage, we have ours setup inside. Nice way to keep an eye on our dogs when we're away from the house.

I like what Lorex has been putting out lately. This is a smart hub that connects the 2 included wireless battery operated cameras. This allows for you to pull up the footage easily in say the kitchen. Also I have not connected it but there is a video doorbell, outdoor camera's and flood lights that all connect. There is an easy to use app for when your not home. Also you can connect Apple TV's and download the app for viewing around the house or elsewhere. Really a great setup that does not require any monthly fee's. The setup was pretty simple. Charge the batteries, install then plug in the smart hub and follow the prompts. Really simple. I did not end up needing the included hub since I have strong wireless but this is very valuable to be able to add to an outside camera that may keep falling offline. Operation: IT has a pretty good field of view and clear. I find the compression from the wireless to be more choppy and delayed at times. I am also concerned if I forget to charge the batteries they will just stop working. Luckily there is a pretty long and standard usb cable so I may wire them up long term. The night mode is pretty clear. Not as clear as their outdoor wired cameras but pretty good for home security. The notifications were pretty accurate in picking up when a person entered the room. The sound ended up getting muted on the hub since it can be annoying. Cons: I think the older Lorex NVR system should be compatible and they should integrate with a smart thermostat to really make the hub more useful. Also beyond footage all I can display is the weather. Would be nice if you could have more app's or slideshow's to look nicer in the kitchen. Finally the price is pretty steep for what you get but competing products are priced similar.

I have used many cameras and still currently use trusted hood cameras that I have paid for cloud services for another few months but after that I’m going with Loren as my #1 system. I love the hub it’s sleek bigger then my google nest, and works very well. The camera are clear work great wirelessly (haven’t tried them wired) and they seem to get a lot more of my backyard then my other installed cameras. Very similar as far as adjusting so cars don’t set it off too much. I think that Lorex hit it out of the park with this system.
