Not the one I grew up with, but I do like it.

As I say in the summary, it's not the series I grew up with in any way, shape or form. I'm still in the process of watching it but so far it's got action, adventure, a devious underhanded Dr. Smith but the character is a woman now and much more vicious than Jonathan Harris ever was. I was rather upset that instead of the loving and devoted couple that were John and Maurine Robinson in the original, this pair was on the verge of divorce, and she treats him very poorly... a man shown to be a U.S. Marine Officer, serving his country and providing for his family through great sacrifice. But in this version she's the boss... the head of the family and he's more or less along for the ride. With the original John Robinson played by Guy Williams was strong, a top scientist, a great father, husband and someone who could get them out of difficult situations in every and every episode. He and his onscreen wife Maureen played by June Lockhart were devoted to each other. They shared in raising their family and looking out for them. Yet so things have changed in all the years since the original aired. But I do miss the way it was. Although I am happy to see this one being played seriously, without the camp that the original played to for ratings. It's been renewed so they must be doing something right. Here's hoping it will continue to be better and better and become a classic in it's own right.
