An Album Full of Time-Enduring Hits
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Portland, Ore. garage/frat band is pefectly profiled on this album, which contains memorable hit after memorable hit, most notably Louie,Louie". This 1963 hit became a legend - and the legend still lives on. Jack Ely's slurred lyrics created a controvesy about what "objectional" things were being said, causing it to be banned in Indiana. In late 1963 and early 1964, the song hit the #1 spot on Cashbox and continued to be ranked #2 on Billboard's Hot 100 (denied the top spot only by Bobby Vinton and the Singing Nun). "Money (That's What I Want)" And "Little Latin Lupe Lu" are other top hits featured. But, of the 26 cuts on this album, there is not a "loser". This is a "MUST PURCHASE"for any music lover !!!!!!!!!!
