I have been a fan of morrissey and the smiths since 1985 and I'm glad he is still making music!

Somehow, Morrissey manages to stay relevant over thirty years since his days in The Smiths. Whether he is singing about European politics or cancelling concerts in the Americas, the publicity surely helps him sell records. This LP resonated with me more than 2014's "World Peace…" but doesn't touch his earlier works of the late 80's and 90's.

Like the summary says, this is an average outing for a topi singer/lyricist. There are standout tracks aside from the singles, but they end up largely forgettable if you don't return to the record repeatedly. If you're a first-time Morrissey listener, and have already heard the Smiths, then I recommend Viva Hate first. Or, if you're looking for a more recent album to try out first. then I would suggest years of Refusal. Thanks for checking this out.

The Smiths are in my top 3 fav bands & Morrissey's solo work has always been a step down from The Smiths I've still enjoyed it. This is not as good as his early solo work. I never thought I would say this about Morrissey but what holds this back is the bad lyrics. I still like this CD.

Love MOZ, but he’s running out of real things to write about. He still sounds great. Not my favorite album by him, but nice to hear his voice on something new.
