These work, they have passive noise cancelling as they are actual earmuff. So don't be surprised when your kids don't hear you with them on. That part works well, I even used them taking my oldest to the 22 range. The bluetooth part is interesting, they are just audio (no mic) and they work good. I'm not sure about the audio limited as they get quite loud, the flip side is that my kids complain to no end about the audio limited headsets on planes because they can't hear. The physical buttons power and volume buttons work and it is easy enough to connect them to a phone or tablet. These don't feel the most quality and are made of plastic which may not last the test of time, they say 5 - 10 year olds but they fit both my 3 and 6 year old just fine. Overall, the added benefit of Bluetooth on top of hearing protection is nice to have and I appreciate that these have both.

The Lucid Audio HearMuffs are an interesting product. They have a built in volume limiter, are suited for small to large heads, and have a bright color that pops for their target audience (kids). There's a lot of things to like here, but there are some misses too.
Overall the feel is all plastic. These are meant for kids, so it's hard to knock it for material, as plastics are durable, flexible, and handle drops better than many other materials. The construction isn't bad, as the head band must include some steel due to how it flexes, and is probably the most sturdy part. The plastic adjustments for head size give me pause; they're thin and probably are the weakest link in the design. I could see these splitting after a few months of heavy use, but who knows. The choice of material again at this price is probably correct. The memory foam in the headband is generous and comfortable. The earcups are a pretty hard vinyl but squishy enough for smaller heads. The headband can flex to allow even adult heads, but things get kind of tight at that point.
There are 3 pretty cheap feeling rubber buttons on the right earcup. They perform volume up, play/pause/on/off/pair, volume down. Below the buttons is a micro-usb connector - which while expected at this price, is disappointing (come on we're so close to USB-C only world!). Audio prompts describe what is happening (power on, pairing, power off) and in a kid voice even.
The noise isolation is mediocre at best. These aren't cancelling, and they certainly don't offer that much isolation given the ear pads material and minimal padding. They do dampen the outside world, but no more than most over the ear headphones. They are made of non-toxic material... at least I'm going to take their word at that, as consuming headphones isn't usually on my review. My 6 year old son is past eating headphones, so we're just going to trust that claim. As far as wearing these to sleep in... perhaps for some very still sleepers, but if I were you: get a sound machine and play some white noise if you have a light sleeper. That is less problematic, and more comfortable than trying to sleep in headphones.
The bluetooth pairing worked great, and I was able to pair to a Windows computer and my son's iPad. The volume limiting on the PC was interesting, as it would hard stop at 73 (out of 100). You could manually increase the volume on PC, but using the controller on the headphones would reset the max volume to 73 which I thought was interesting. Obviously the electronics in this with a micro-usb and simple buttons are pretty commodity setups. Sound is passable, but nothing to write home about. Bass is flat, and highs are muted - however nothing is harsh - which is important for kids headphones.
Overall for the price, these aren't a bad option. There are cheaper headphones, but despite my initial worry about long term durability for the price they seem solid enough. Making an affordable pair of kids headphones is not the easiest thing in the world to do. I hope these hold up, because my son does really like them (and red is his favorite color).

Great affordable option, especially if you travel!
Start from the beginning and I'll go from least preferred to most preferred.
The not so good... I realize this is a personal gripe but I'm sure I'm not alone. I HATE clamshell packaging! I get it, it protects well, it's inexpensive and simple to manufacture, BUT opening is ALWAYS a hassles.
OK, with that rant revealed, once open, these have a high quality feel especially for the price point. Pairing and basic use was simple. We used on our camping trip in our RV and the little guy really enjoyed them. Paired to his kids tablet and he went hours and nary a complaint. He even fell asleep a few times with them on so we know they ,must be comfy.
End of the day, I would recommend to a friend.

Buy These Headphones for a Win-Win

I requested these headphones for my youngest daughter, who has Autism. She wears noise cancelling headphones every day while we are at home. We aren’t sure why, but it gives her comfort. I thought these headphones were a great idea since it combined the noise reduction she seeks with the ability to use them for her tablet.
The challenge now is getting her to take them off long enough for us to charge them.
She finds them much more comfortable than her old child’s size noise reduction headphones. I do see that the there is more padding – on the headband as well as the ears – than her old ones.
She said the sound was good when she used them with her Amazon Fire. Setting them up on Bluetooth was relatively easy to do.
The color is great, too. It’s almost a candy apple red finish, though it’s a bit lighter shade. The housing has a shimmery glitter-like finish that sparkles in the light (wasn’t able to capture that on camera). She likes things that glitter and sparkle, so that’s another win for us.
I would recommend these headphones to anyone looking for a nice, comfortable pair of noise reduction headphones with a bonus of using them as standard headphones.

The Lucid headphones are absolutely PERFECT for any child who has an aversion to loud or sudden noises. I have a special needs child who cannot loud noises or spaces. I work in live media production and often need to bring him to work with me and he always complains about the noise. These headphones solved this problem. They really are noise cancelling, and they are bluetooth compatible, so he can connect them to his tablet and play quietly, while in a loud setting.
My only withholding about these are that they are charged via microUSB only, which gives it a slightly cheap feel. also the charging cord that comes with it is very short. Nonetheless, it is a much better price point for use with my child than the more expensive headphones that my child could easily damage.

Due to pandemic I have cycled through headphones for my kids.
These Lucid headphones are great.
My kid who is 9 says they are comfortable.
Enough ambient noise gets filtered out yet you can call them and they can still hear.
Setup was super easy. Linked to tablet easily.
Battery is pretty good. So far 4 straight days of 2 hours each day and they have not died yet.
I would recommend this product.

These HearMuffs from Lucid are a lightweight, comfortable way to ensure your child's hearing is protected in a noisy environment. They come in multiple fun colors, they have comfortable padding, and they are adjustable to the size of your child's head! They even have built-in speakers that, through bluetooth, pair with your phone or tablet so that your child can use them to quietly play a game or watch videos. The volume, at its highest setting, stays low enough as to not hurt your child's hearing! They do not block out all noise, only loud noise. I spoke to my child as he was wearing them and he could still hear me. Pairing them was simple. As soon as I turned them on they entered pairing mode. My only issue with these HearMuffs is the charging port. While attempting to charge the HearMuffs the red indicator light would come on but if the charging cable moved it would go off. The cable almost feels loose inside the port. This makes the charging very positional. If I didn't place the cable in the port just right the HearMuffs wouldn't charge. Other than that, these get the job done while doubling as bluetooth headphones. My kid loves them!

Got the Red Lucid Audio Bluetooth HearMuffs for the 7 year old and he loves it. It pairs easily with the old Samsung Android tablet he inherited from daddy’s upgrade, so he can play his video games without bothering everyone else around. He’s only allowed about an hour at a time, so these headphones are comfortable enough, no complaints. The headband is adjustable, so it’ll allow for growth in the next couple of years. Also these are by no means noise canceling, so it doesn’t take much “yelling” to get his attention. They do offer enough sound isolation for airplane travel or other noisy environments. So far they’ve lasted a few days on a single charge, so we don’t have to worry about plugging them in frequently.

The following review was done by my 10 year old daughter. She really liked them though she said they made her ears a little sore if she wore them for a while - though she wore them a lot because she did like them. They are very much sized for kids. Maybe they were a bit tight on her but she felt like they fit her but maybe the tightness is why she felt a little sore. I couldn't really ware them so the comments on sound quality are all hers, though I did try to listen a little and thought they sounded pretty good! I was also impressed that though these are volume limiting she never had problems with things being too quite. It seems they balance or control volume very well!
=====================
I like the Lucid Hearmuffs because they are easy to use, the sound is great, and I had no trouble figuring out which buttons do what. When you turn it on and off it sounds like a kids voice talking to you. They are comfortable when I ware them but when I take them off my ears are a little sweaty and sore.
I listened to music and watched shows with them and it sounds great. When I have the Hearmuffs on my head, turned on or off, I can't hear anyone around me talking etc. The bass is really good.
The top and bottom buttons are the volume and the middle button is the on/off button. When something is playing you can use the middle button to pause/unpause. To turn the Hearmuffs on/off you hold down the middle button.
I like the way they look. Mine are bright red. They also are lightweight.
The battery is great. I used them a lot with one charge.

These headphones are nice. I wish the materials felt a little more solid as I'm sure my kid will break these at some point. I like that these block noise but not ALL noise. These are great for sensory issues as well as dropping the sound level in loud situations. The addition of bluetooth to use with a tablet was great as my oldest says these are actually comfortable compared to any other headphones we've tried for him. The bright colors are a nice touch and the packaging wasn't a huge pain to get into. Sound quality is pretty standard for a fairly priced set of kids headphones. I'd recommend these to other parents.

The Lucid Audio Bluetooth HearMuffs are a very nice product for children, but I am concerned for how well they will hold up longterm. The first impression you get from this product is that it is very cheaply made. They are all plastic, and not very nice feeling plastic. Given that these are meant for children, I really don't expect them to hold up too well in the long term. Getting past that issue, they work really well. On the surface, they are ear muffs for hearing protection. In that regard, they work really well. They block out a ton of noise, and as far as I can tell, they are comfortable enough that my son can wear them for well over an hour without them bothering him. He definitely gets irritated with other headphones and will rip them off if they are bothering him. The sound quality of these is nice enough. They are good enough for children, and don't get super loud. They are meant to protect your child's hearing after all. Overall they do what they were designed to do, and they do it well. I have concerns about the long term durability of them, but at this price, it's not a huge concern. I would definitely recommend.

Absolutely a Best Buy for Kids!

The Lucid Audio Bluetooth HearMuffs are so far the best value for the money I have seen for kids headphones, period. Why is that you wonder? They sound absolutely amazing for the price and are actually super loud but the main reason is hearing protection.
Yes, you read that right, hearing protection. My 7 year old does not like the sound of loud race engines at the race track so we have always taken ear muffs but she can still hear the engines and it is not her favorite thing due to her ear sensitivity. The Lucid HearMuffs do a wonderful job at blocking loud noises out, not 100%, but about 70% of the loudness is cut way way down.
Now for the best part for her is she can listen to music and have the hearing protection as well while at the track and look cute as a button to boot when wearing them.
Now, it is not race season so how did we do the testing? I have a race sim setup with full 5.1 surround that is pumping over 1200 watts, it gets just as loud as a real race weekend. I had her sit next to me with the speakers all the way up until I could not stand it myself and had her sit during an entire race.
What was her feedback when I asked her how they sounded and how loud was the racecars?
"I really like these pops. I can still hear the cars but way way less and is not scary. I also like that I can play my songs from my tablet and it almost makes the car noise not there."
So, if my picky 7 year old says that, these are a big positive for the market for kids and hearing protection in my book!
For the people here for the technical stuff, the bluetooth hooked right up in seconds. The first time powering on you really have to hold down the power for a while and also charge it before you do. The headphones do get loud and the volume on the headphones do control your phone, so watch your kids to make sure they do not blow their ears out.
Positives:
Great Packaging
Comfortable
Very Adjustable
Ears Pads are Soft
Big Ear Cups for all sizes of ears
Easy Bluetooth connection
Great Sound for a budget set of headphones
10 hours of battery life
Negatives:
None
I can say these are worth your hard earned money and do not need anything less than 5 stars at this price point. You cannot get a quality set of headphones for kids at this cost that sound this good at any dollar store or discount retail store. I have 4 daughters and have bought a LOT of headphones and these are the best yet.

I got these for my daughter so she can have some over the ear head phones to wear and also down out some external noise. These are two small for me to wear so I’m going off what a 7 year old told me. She said the headphones were comfortable and she likes that there’s buttons on the headphones that she can control the volume with. I also tried to play louder external music and she said it was quieter. She seems to like the headphones and uses them all the time.

My kids love these headphones. They feel very comfortable and are not too loud but loud enough they still enjoy them. The stitching and quality is pretty nice. These are not 300 quality but they are great for their price. Connection to their tablet was easy. It could have been documented better but we got it working. I also think it was interesting they still have a micro B connector and not USB C. I think all new devices should just be USB C. The charging cable that comes with them is not the longest but they worked fine with my existing cable as well. Just get the ones that match your child's head and you will be happy.

This does what it is supposed to do. My 7 year old loves it. The connection is strong and does not drop. The fit is great and you get lots of wiggle room to make the fitting work better. While it is not noise cancelling, I love the fact that when not listening to music, it helps to drown out the noise for my daughter so that she can concentrate on her readings. The acoustics are reproduced quite efficiently and I am not going to get more detailed about that as it is meant for kids and they will not be very focused on the correct reproduction of the various tones.
One note of criticism is that it does not have USBC. Please increase the price by 5 bucks and have a USBC port; it just makes charging it more easy and makes the product more durable as well.

Too small and ineffective volume limiter

GOOD
- Low price
- Smaller size for children
- Bluetooth connectivity
- Decent passive noise blocking
BAD
- Too small for stated age range
- Bluetooth volume limiter ineffective
Having taken my young children to various sporting events in the past, I've used various passive muffs before and needed a larger pair as they grow. Having Bluetooth in these isn't a big draw for me as my children don't have their own devices and don't spend a lot of time watching shows or media on tablets and the like. But it can be a useful study aid when they're using school and reading apps so they can listen along and get some passive noise reduction at the same time to help keep them focused. The advertised volume limiter is nice for parents so kids don't accidentally or unknowingly damage their hearing. Sadly, these Hearmuffs don't deliver on most of these promises.
The headphones are indeed small sized for kids, but I would say these are most suitable for age 3-7 rather than 5-10. They barely fit my 5yo and are a smidge too small for my 6-1/2yo. My kids have slightly larger heads than average, but they still easily fit in children bicycle helmets. Saying these muffs fit an average 10yo child is questionable at best to me.
The passive noise reduction is fair. Nothing great, but a little better than just regular headphones. It's hard for me to say exactly how good since they don't fit me and getting reliable quantitative info like that from a 5yo is pretty much impossible. My kids say I sound "soft" and "weird" so take that for what's it's worth. For a sporting event or blocking engine noise on a flight, I'd say they're adequate. For shooting ranges and rock concerts, probably not.
The Bluetooth connectivity is perfectly normal. Easy to pair with phones, tablets, and computers. The voice prompts are even a child's voice, which is a nice touch. Audio quality is average, which is fine. It's not like I need or want audiophile grade headphones for little children.
However a big problem with these, apart from the size, is that the volume limiter is inadequate. It doesn't limit the maximum volume the headphones can generate, it only limits the maximum volume setting the headphones' volume up button can reach. Meaning when it's connected to a phone, tablet, computer, etc, pressing the volume up button on the headphones only increases the phone's volume to about 75% and then won't go higher. Except that 75% level might still be too loud on a given device. Many computer applications can have their own volume level set independently of the computer system's main volume level. Worse, even though the headphones can't increase volume past 75%, the controls on the phone or computer can. You can take it right up to 100% and headphones continue to get louder. I have other Bluetooth headphones, also designed for teenagers and children, that have volume limiting features. They do it correctly by limiting the amp on the headset itself.

Kids headphones can really be hit or miss. It seems like one of the main pillars are that they need to be durable, because they're likely going to be abused. These ones aren't it. The build quality felt suspect as I hacksawed it out of it's blister pack, but I'm not sure they could handle more than one or two drops to the floor. The ear padding also looks as if it's going to come away easily, but I didn't want to test that. the sizing on the small side if you follow their guidelines, with this pair being almost maxed out in adjustment on my 7 year old. The sides of the headphones do adjust, and there are detents in the plastic that are intended to hold that size, but whatever mechanism is meant to keep them there, it just flexes and slides, so I'm not sure why they bothered. Perhaps most misleading is that these headphones do no active noise cancelling. While there is quite a bit of truth to the idea that a good seal around the earcups of a well fitting pair of headphones can block out a fair amount of ambient sounds, I wanted to see these advertised specifically as passive, and the HearMuffs model name implied more active noise reduction/cancelling. Last and maybe most glaring is that these headphones do not have the ability to hardwire - they are Bluetooth only. This means you cannot use them on a plans for in flight entertainment, and when the battery goes dead... you better have a contingency plan.

The Lucid HearMuffs for Children are advertised as "Youth 5-10 years old" size, but I found for my 5 year olds (who have large heads but still barely wear youth size bike helmets) that they were too small to trust to be proper ear protection in a loud environment. For both my sons they were not quite able to get a good seal around the bottoms of their ears. I tested on myself, wearing them in a way that wouldn't have stayed on my head and pressed down with my hands, and I felt they were similar noise reduction to a basic noise isolation set that I have for sporting events. I found it a little strange that the Lucid HearMuffs state they are "Lab Tested and Approved" but don't list an actual NRR rating. Still, I could definitely see using these for a loud event for kids with the right size heads.
Of course, the Lucid HearMuffs have bluetooth built in, which should add a good amount of value for the price. In this case, it detracts from the value. The package advertises that the Lucid HearMuffs are "Volume Limited for Safe Listening" - except they easily got as loud as a non-limited "adult" pair of bluetooth headphones I compared them to. Well over 85 decibels, and a pretty hollow, soulless sound as well. This was really disappointing, and dropped my review score from 4 stars to 2 stars. If it weren't for the fact that these do actually provide hearing protection in a cool-for-kids form factor, I'd give them 1 star for the super high volume they reach, and I'm glad I they don't fit my kids so I didn't have to tell them they can't wear them for music or tablet time.
