Was great for the first two uses playing online. Then the headset began connecting and disconnecting making it (1) annoying because of the sounds associated with the conn/disconn settings. And (2) made talking to my friends impossible and frustrating. Ended up returning them three days after purchase. They were so beautiful and sleek looking that I was enormously disappointed that they were poorly made and didn't work out.

I bought these hoping I'd finally found a quality headset for less than $200. I was incredibly disappointed. They sound fine, but my complaint is that they are super uncomfortable. I couldn't stand to keep these on my head for longer than a few minutes due to the squeeze they put on my head. Also, the dongle barely fits in my PS4 pro and can only be placed in one of them, essentially rendering the other USB port unusable. Very disappointed with these.

    I loved them but...

I had to return them. The ear cups were just a touch too small for me and hurt my ears. The inside diameter is about 2 1/8". Another 1/8" would probably have done it. They sound great, firm fit, feel very well made, and have at least an 8 hour battery. I wish I could have kept them. The wired Microsoft cups are larger. These LS-30s seem to be the same size or maybe slightly larger than the Afterglow and the Turtle Beaches. The ASTRO A50s have taller cups and seem perfect if not as refined looking.

One of the best all purpose headsets

This headset is very versatile. I mainly used it as a gaming headset but I can easily plug into my phone and listen to music. It looks like normal over the ear headsets so you don't get weird looks when you are wearing it out in public. As far as a gaming headset it holds it's own. The surround sound is not true surround sound, so you hear where things are coming from but not exactly. I had the Sony Gold headset before this one. That one does surround sound a whole lot better. Although the sound is crisp and clear with just the right amount of bass. The controls are what really impressed me. I feel like all controls are where they should be. Power button, mute buttton, EQ, they are just easy to find without looking. Also oneach ear cup there is a ring. You rotate this ring to control the volume. Just like a volume knob. On the right is voice chat. On the left is game sound. So you can adjust the volume of each perfectly. People are too loud turn them down with chat volume and you game volume doesn't change. Same with game volume of its too loud turn down game volume and your chat volume does not change. The mic is also pretty good. You have mic response in your ear so you can hear yourself which helps so you don't get too loud for other people. As far as fit it is very confortable. It feels heavy when you get it out of the box, but when you put it on it just feels nice. The overall quality of the headset is far and away the best I have seen at this price point. It feels very sturdy and looks really nice. I have the black one. Overall I am really satisfied with the Lucid Sound headset.

For months I've been looking for a headset that is versatile and of good quality. I've owned the Astro A50's for a long time but I've always felt there is something better out there now. Technology has advanced and the options are now vast. I've also learned Astro is just a hyped up name brand that stays with the same technology and just slaps a new coat paint on them. I've been looking for a headset I can use on both the Xbox One and PS4 without the hassle of buying extra adapters and cords. I've tried Turtle Beach, Plantronics, Creative Sound, SteelSeries, HyperX, and even the Astro A40 TR's which are very nice but the all the cords just got on my nerves. Now these headsets are made from people that worked at some of the companies mentioned above. For the price I was so surprised of the quality of the headphones. The buttons on the side offer such a simple way to control sound and they sound great on both systems. They offer spacious sound, deep bass and the mic quality is good too. They are not surround sound but ask yourself can you really hear sound separation in a pair of headphones? Give these a try. This company is definitely on to something and considering its their first headset they're off to a good start. Good Job LucidSound!

    Great headset

I bought these after my old sony's started to die on me. Seems to be very good build quality and are very comfortable on the head with the memory foam (even with glasses on). They are a bit heavy, but good speakers have decent size magnets and a strong headband probably is going to weigh a bit. Sound quality was really good and did not suffer from unnecessarily high bass level like a lot of gamer headsets. There is some sound clean up or noise cancellation going on as multiplayer chat with game sound was much better than my other headsets in the past. The other people in the chat said the mic was clear and sounded good. Design is really good if you are looking to avoid the teenage gamer look. Set up with a PS4 was 2 minutes and worked correctly the first time. Have not tried out the battery life over many hours, but nothing seemed odd on the first couple of sessions.

    Best headset I've ever owned

First this header is awesome quality, built extremely well. The versatility is amazing as well. At first I was hesitant since I have a lot of devices in the living room, but plugging it into my tv and using the optical out in addition to the HDMI ARC I'm able to switch inputs seamlessly without having to compromise only having wireless on my Xbox, PlayStation, TV, or Receiver. Some reviews stated they weren't fans of the mic monitoring, but I have to say it's not distracting and probably the best implementation I've heard. Mic audio quality is the best I've seen on a headset. Of course you can pay top dollar for a standalone mic that will be better, but seriously, if you're just gaming or chatting you'll be very pleased. Now, the audio quality. It's great. Both in passive and active modes. Powered is obviously going to be better, but it's by far the best among "gaming" headsets. The 3 EQs should keep you happy both with audio quality for different types of games as well as keeping things simple. Plenty of bass and the mids are good. Of course highs won't be the best in the world, but you won't find better in a gaming focused headset. If that's important to you get the audiotechnica M50X and purchase an inline 3.5mm aux mic. and splitter which was the setup I used prior. All things considered, including the spin dials built into the ear cups for mic/headphone volume and mute, these are head and shoulders above everything else.

    Long term use review

In the beginning, these were the greatest head phones I've had for my PS4. Ease of setup on PS4 Pro, excellent sound separation, great fit, very long lasting battery ,just like everyone that has reviewed this product. The bad: The plastic at the top of the phones has cracked in the middle and broke in two. They still fit ok even broken. Covering on head and ear padding had to be re-glued. In the last two months, the headphones have developed a disconnecting and connecting problem. LucidSound posted a wrong answer on their website to cover up a problem with their phones. The problem is related to your head position, NOT what they stated! This MAY be an early production problem, but I can't recommend buying this set for these reasons. The connection problem is the deal breaker. All the other problems are livable for me.

    Superb sound quality and build

Superb sound quality and was totally worth choosing over its competition at the $150 price point. The build feels very durable and fairly lightweight. Ears can get warm after 2+ hours of use, but it has very soft earcups. The ls30 doesn't have tons of features but makes up for it with solid design choices like removable mic, dials for sound, etc. It comes with an optical cable, which is GREAT. Just know the cords are concealed with clever packaging, check under middle section of headphone mold. All in all, the future looks bright for Lucid Sound.

For the price this headset is perfect, comfortable to wear, the sound is pretty darn amazing, they changed the entire gameplay for certain games in my opinion. Mic quality is awesome and the fact that I can use it as regular headphones with my phone or computer really seal the deal. they look nice and come with a ton of useful accessories and cables!

Currently same price as TB 420x and TB 500x at Bestbuy at $149. Took the gamble on such a new product because I wan't impressed with the build of the TB line up. Box packing for the cables is hidden in the middle, don't be fooled. PRO: Headset is great, solid and doesn't feel cheap. CON: usb dongle for gaming feels cheap. CON: Did not come with an AC adapter to plug into the wall for power. Did not say it didn't come with one, which would have helped. CON: No wireless chat for XB1. Not 7.1 DTS, don't know if it's BT or RF, no documentation. This is more of a lifestyle headset that does it all. I am so fair happy with the purchase, but wished the XB1 chat was wireless and came with the AC power. Sec-zee.

Best headset in the $150 range

Incredible headset that is platform agnostic (one of the main reasons I was interested in them). They use optical audio for the audio source, so if you regularly switch between multiple consoles (I switch between three), you can connect the receiver directly to the TV instead of switching it between consoles every time. The only downside to this is if you chat a lot then you will have to plug it into the console (which is no problem if you only have one console). Also if you have a small head they might be a bit overwhelming. Over all, while they can't really compete with all the features of $300 headsets (most notably Dolby surround), for half the price they're amazing. PS- You might consider Geek Squad protection as well since this is a newer company and we don't know if their products last.

Grabbed these for gaming on my PS4. Works great wirelessly and battery definitely can get me through several hours of gaming without a recharge so there's no inconvenience. It is also a solid build and microphone and controls are responsive and work very well. In addition I would even use these just for listening to music, the sound quality and comfort of the device is great.

The sound quality is ok but they are heavy. Solid built but there is no way I could do a marathon gaming event with them. My ears got sweaty and hot and it was uncomfortable within 10 minutes. I do like how you can easily go back and forth to ur phone and other platforms. Coming from what I already use these aren't as good. My Astros A50 are way better. The surround, sound, lightweight, fabric pads to keep my head cool. I've tried many products including the turtlebeach elite 800s. Astros win.
