It has protected my phone against cracks, But I do have a glass screen protector that helps the most. I thought the little rotary knob was cool at first but now the knob is broke and the ringer doesn't change. Considering the price I'm a lot upset that it's not better

Once you have turned "on" the switch, you adjust the volume on the screen like normal. It gives one less space for water/etc to enter your phone. Case is flexible, yet sturdy enough for my 16 year old son (who got a recommendation from an 18 year old friend!)
