    There are many products in the market that are "smart" (i.e. at least you can control with your phone, but expect integration with alexa, google, etc). I find the label in the packaging misleading as on one hand it says the product is smart but does not clarify "with optional hub". It does say "add hub to unlock smart features" but I found it being called a "smart dimmer" misleading.....so I spent the additional $$$ (had I known, I would have bought a starter kit for less money) to get the hub and works as advertised. It's saving grace is that it does not require a neutral wire in older homes.

    The Lutron Caseta switches and app have exceeded expectations, so easy to install, use, program. Yes, they are more expensive but I haven't seen any other brand that provides that much value.

    My home has old electrical system (from 1955) so there are no neutral wires anywhere. this works great on making your old home into a smart lighting home. Very easy to install.

    Have tried other smart home switches but Caseta is most reliable. Have installed several and ties into HomePod easily and you have great Siri control or through the Caseta app.

    After a lot of research on smart lighting, I decided to go with these based on customer reviews and their ability to integrate with other systems. Installation was as easy as a regular switch and took about 5 minutes. The Lutron app is decent, though I'd like to see a few additions like being able to set geofencing and timing (such as when I arrive home and it's dark out). Overall though, these have worked great, and I'll probably buy a few more down the road.
