Bought these 7 years ago. Have used them for TV speakers ever since. I stream a lot of music through Google Music (only 320kbps and flac) and these speakers have only gotten better with age. For Home Theatre these are fantastic. They reach into pretty deep lows and can even give that rumble. Not enough to feel (duh!), but it's there which is pretty impressive for Active 40w 4" bookshelf speakers! For music, they handle Jazz, Rock, Pop and Classical music with equal dexterity. The sound is as flat as any studio monitor and they give you the sound the way it was meant to be. You won't get a real punchy bass, but the sound is full and we'll rounded. Especially for the size and wattage. For more Bass put them near the wall, but you will sacrifice clarity. For quality sound keep them 2-3 feet from a wall. These will fill a medium sized room with sound, but no more. My only complaint would be that they are Nearfield speakers. They sound the best when pointing directly at you. If you have a large seating area, there will be a noticable (at least to an audiophile) fall off the further from center you sit. It's not bad at all, to the layman, but it's something to consider. I gave these five stars because they are phenomenal speakers for the price. They have definitely gotten better with age. So much so, that I felt the need to give a review 7 years after purchase!
