Excellent movie, but lacking in many areas.

I find it difficult to give any cinematic rendition of a Shakespearean play a 5 star rating, seeing that very often the play is abridged. Woefully, it seems to me this movie is abridged. However, it is still very very good.

If you don't like Shakespeare than you may not particularly care for this film and I'd move on. BUT if you like HOUSE OF CARDS and visually dark films, this could be another candidate for you to watch. It is a visually stunning film and a dark score. The bluray is beautiful but the extras are slim, but offer a lot in its quality.

The film itself is OK. This follow-up to the film snow town doesn't meet the greatness of the directors first film but it's worth watching. Marion Cotillard and Michael Fassbender make this film worth watching.

This is one of those great movies that you probably never heard of. Obviously the story is something that is well known, but this film has gone overlooked, the casting and performances are just fantastic!

I remember reading Macbeth MANY years ago in school but forgot more than I remembered of the story. This film was very well done with great acting and superb photography. I did have to have the subtitles on to catch all the spoken words but it did not detract from the experience at all.

This version of MacBeth has more of a Viking image and it's pretty violent. Michael Fassbender owns at any role and every role he does and his performance as MacBeth is no exception.

The blu-ray for Macbeth is amazing. The picture and sound quality is incredible. If you are a fan of Shakespeare film adaptations, this is one of the best yet. Or if you are in the mood for a thought-provoking film with beautiful photography and action scenes, I would give this a shot.

Great cast, and superbly directed. This is one of the best movie versions of Macbeth I've ever seen. There are a couple of really interesting style choices, and little minor changes to the text that I actually thought were very cool. The climax of the film is just plain gorgeous.

I'm caught in the middle. This should be be a great film, but yet I'm still wondering. Will have to watch it again. If this turns students on to Shakespeare, I'm all for it.

If you are a Shakespeare fan, you will enjoy this real life version of Macbeth versus the stage version. Acting is superb throughout. The different scenes are very realistic.

This new look at Shakespeare's enduring classic is stunning. The performances are gutsy and real. Everything about the film is brilliantly executed. Even if you don;t think you;d ever enjoy Shakespeare, try this film, because you are in for a great experience in cinema.

Was super excited to see this movie, as Macbeth is one of the best Shakespeare plays in my opinion. I like the Macbeth for its incorporation of supernatural and violence as the story evolves. This movie falls short as the three witches are more of an afterthought in the movie rather than integrated like in the play. There is also too much slow motion through the movie. The fighting and Macbeth's spiral into madness is on par and enjoyable.

Favorite film of 2015. If you're open to different ways of visualizing MacBeth, you might enjoy Kurzel's version. The acting rates consistently top notch and the brutal, phantasmagoric cinematography is among the best I've seen.
