Customers are saying
Customers regard the MacBook Pro 16" as a high-performance laptop with excellent battery life and a stunning screen. Many appreciate its ease of use and sleek design, along with the inclusion of useful ports and ample RAM. However, some find the weight to be a significant drawback, and the price point is considered high by some users. While opinions on the Touch Bar's absence are divided, most appreciate the improved cooling system resulting in less fan noise and heat.

The Laptop to Beat All Laptops
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Apple MacBook Pro 16" (2021) is the best laptop ever made, and it isn't even close. It far outstrips the competition in processing speed, battery life, heat index, fan noise, camera quality, track pad usability, and speaker sound quality. And it equals or betters the best of the competition in screen quality, overall build, and keyboard quality. There are really no downsides to this laptop. Even the price is good for what you are getting. The only caveat is for PC gamers. This is not the laptop for you. But for content creators, nothing is better. The only decision is whether to spring for the M1 Max version, or to stick with the M1 Pro version. I bought the Pro version because it saved $1000 and I would rather have two more hours of batter life and didn't need the extra graphics speed of the Max version. The CPU speed is identical in both versions.

Love it
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a windows user and decided to give this MacBook a chance. Love it! Plenty of power and great battery charge without all the windows hoopla of going into settings to constantly fix things that are amiss. Then bought my daughter a macbook air. Very happy with this laptop!

Macbook Pro 16" M1 Pro
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great MBP. Got it during one of BB's ridiculous Apple sales. Think I saved $700 on it, which is the only way I could justify paying for one of these things. Its served me well as a music maker and is a real workhorse.

Definitely Worth It
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been holding out on getting a new laptop for the longest time. However, after working with the MacBook Pro for the past month, I can honestly say that I am immensely satisfied with how well it’s performing. Great display, good speakers, fast performance all around, and they brought back most of the ports (wish they brought back the regular USB port).

AMAZING Computer - Do your research first!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Two things: 1) I LOVE this computer. It is so fast and responsive! This computer is capable of handling what I need it to do and more. Now I did just come from a 10 year old MacBook Pro so I am probably more excited about the speed because compared to my old one this one is lighting fast! I have also really enjoyed the fingerprint reader which I didn't expect that I would use but I actually use it quite often. The touchpad is HUGE which is great, I was a little leery of its size while typing but it has not caused any issues. Also the keyboard is different now which took me a little time getting used to but it seems just like every other laptop keyboard now as opposed to the iconic apple separated keys I was used to. Its not a big deal just has a slightly different feeling but its very responsive and the keys do have a satisfying bounce to them. Another feature that I like is the screen size. I know everyone complains about the "notch" but honestly I have not noticed it being any issue in what I do. I have even used split screen multiple times and the "notch" was never an issue. HOWEVER, I can say about the size that I am really glad that I went with the 16" because my last computer was a 15.4" and they essentially take up the same real estate on my desk its just the black bezel around the screen is small on this new one. This is not a problem its just something to think about if you are used to the bigger screen. In my opinion the 16" would be the way to go because it is more similar to the 15.4" I do also like though that this model is quite a bit thinner than the older ones. 2)This is not necessarily a complaint but I am glad I did my research before purchasing this model. So originally I did not know that this model does not have USB ports which would have made restoring some of my data to it pretty difficult. However, I did my research beforehand and I bought a little dongle that allows me to connect my USB devices to this computer and it has been working perfectly, BUT that does make for a messy looking work station. It is also kind of inconvenient...and honestly I almost didn't buy this model because I thought to myself "I have to pay EXTRA to use the things I already have!" On the flip side though I guess that is partially how they were able to make this model so much thinner. I am past the money aspect. When you buy an apple computer you expect to pay the premium for it. If this one lasts 10 years like my last one did I'll be thrilled! All in all I am very happy with my purchase and I would buy it again!

VERY Fast & Easy on the Eyes - a solid upgrade!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our studio needed to replace some older Macbook Pro's and after a bit of discussion, we decided to invest in the new 16" M1 Pro hardware. This is a very powerful Mac. Our art and animation folk feel that they are more productive just in terms of how it handles our production pipelines in the Adobe and Unity worlds. New keyboard is great to use although the all black background is meh from my personal pov. What's not to like? Well, if you're reading this you know that you're paying a premium for Apple gear. This new MacBook Pro reflects that. You get what you pay for - and there's no doubt that this will give us 5 years of production. It's noticeably heavier and less backpack friendly for long city commutes. Definitely not a problem in the office-car-home cycle. But, if you're on public transportation...the 14" may be worth considering. Oh and the notch? It's not a biggie for us and probably won't be for nearly all users in a few minutes.

M1! Let's go!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgrading from a 2016 touchbar macbook the difference was amazingly noticeable. From the screen to the keyboard and of course the performance. If you're still using an intel-based macbook/mac, upgrading to the M-chipset is well worth it. It's even better if you can get it for less than MSRP. Upgrade and don't look back.

Too bad in medical school
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was hands down the best Mac. I loved everything about it. However, I purchased this computer thinking it would be useful in medical school. I prefer a computer/laptop/tablet that allows me to take notes on presentations for review. The screen display, the processor, the memory, I loved everything.

Love it!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I may have been replacing my prior 8 year old MBP, but I'm so glad I was able to wait as this model has all the features I loved, but had been removed for a while. The ports I need are back, the SD reader, gone is the weird light bar thing. Love the touch ID on here too. All my devices work seamlessly together again! And I'm loving the new darker color too! And I can finally update all my Adobe apps, since I have to rent all my software. Even Premiere Pro runs great on here. And, again, I may have been coming from a very old model, but the battery life on this is amazing (I've had it upstairs with me a couple hours now and it's only down to 98%), and it runs *so* much cooler than any others I've used, especially my work PC whose fans kick on constantly.

2021 16 in M1 Pro BETTER Buy than 2023 M2 Pro!!!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Extra weight more than offset by greater battery life, MORE PORTS: thunderbolt ports (3) + HDMI + memory card makes the M1 pro a better choice than 2023 M2s! And with total tech apple care a better buy than going through Apple. Even speakers and heat sync arguably better than newer models.

Apple's high end laptop on sale.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is great -- with a nice big screen (for my poor tired eyes); looong battery life (don't need external power during presentations) & excellent performance (thanks to the M1 Pro chip & 16 GB memory). Thanks Apple & Best Buy!

2021 16 inch MacBook Pro M1 Pro 1 TB 16 GB RAM.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Insanely fast. It was a toss up between this and a studio for me. Price, compared to base Studio, was almost the same after discounts on the laptop. Maybe about 150 more, but you get added portability. I mostly use it in docked mode with studio Display. It’s nice to have the option to take it when traveling and also use it as a secondary display alongside the studio display. Display on laptop is XDR mini LED Liquid Retina. Ports are plentiful, especially paired with external display. MagSafe is back, although you can still charge via usb c and thunderbolt when docked. MagSafe on 16 model, includes 140 watt power charger vs 96 watt on 14 inch model. Battery life is greater on 16 inch model. Thermal seems better on 16 inch model due to heat disapation from size.

Amazing
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is by far the best laptop computer i have used. Runs very smooth and fast, battery life is unbelievably great, nice size, and the pic is very nice. The laptop is a little on the heavy side but it feels really secure. Nothing flimsy about the make of this.

New to Apple
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first Apple computer and so far loving it. Moving from a Windows based computer took a little time to adjust. Had help from a couple Apple users pointing a few things out. Love the battery life I have, only 3 charges since just before Christmas. The screen is very clear and the size is perfect.

The New MacBook Pro 16” is Amazing
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Even though my 2015 MacBook Pro 13” laptop is still perfectly functional, it’s starting to show it’s age when I run modern software tools such as Docker Desktop or a Linux VM. At first it seemed that I was going to be out of luck because of the new Apple Silicon M1 Pro, as OS emulations such as virtual machine are problematic when trying to run intel-based images, but once I realized there was a version of Docket designed for Apple Silicon and an ARM-based Linux VM available, I was off to the races. It also doesn’t hurt that everything snaps open almost instantly, and Apple moving away from Thunderbolt-only ports, adding back mag-safe, getting rid of the crazy touch bar, etc. is just icing on the cake.
